The dental hygenist was very friendly and sweet, helping him settle in to the big chair while explaining to us some basic concepts of healthy diet and how it affects teeth. We don't have a TV and don't allow screens but they brilliantly have a projector above the chair - so I'm not sure if this would be as enchanting for a kid who is used to TV but for our son, he was fascinated. It distracted him enough throughout the visit so there was no fuss, no resistance...full cooperation as his teeth were counted. The dentist and hygienist both sing as they're doing different procedures. They let him feel the electronic tooth polisher on his finger before polishing his teeth. For anyone who doesn't know, almost no one needs x-rays of EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL TOOTH, unless there's something going horribly wrong in your entire mouth, but I know there are some dentists out there who try to force it on people. Oh, & he'd already told me that my teeth looked fine (which I pretty much knew, being obsessive about home dental care), so why should I be forced to have x-rays of EVERY SINGLE TOOTH???
