A friend suggested that I go to "My Dental". My first appointment was within two weeks. I've had maybe 5 (+?) visits in the past month. My first crown is complete, (beautiful). The second is prepped, and should be complete in days. Much other needed work done. I'm on a first-name relationship with everyone the works there, (like new friends). It was absolutely the worst imaginable dental experience and I imagine they are trying to bill my insurance for as much as possible. A minor complaint is that the staff is standoffish, almost rude. However, the dentist who I had never spoken with before came in and began working on my teeth, while working on my teeth mentioned that she requested an insurance authorization for deep cleaning. Didn't ask me if I was willing to come in for one. Refused to explain what was involved in deep cleaning, did not show me my x-rays, or give me an explanation as to why I would need one, past "it just happens sometimes". I cannot imagine any other medical professional being this dismissive about a care plan. I have never even had a cavity with my teeth, and less than a year ago got told my teeth are perfect, so I find it suspicious I would suddenly need an advanced procedure. All in all the dentist spent less than 10 minutes with me, didn't even properly clean my teeth, and made up issues to authorize with my insurance. You are better off finding a dentist in a back ally over going to My Dental.

Owing to the extensive nature of 60+ years of hard use, my teeth were worn out and in desperate need of repair and/or replacement, so it took quite a while, mostly due to the number of procedures needed but more importantly, the recovery time between the procedures, but in the end, it was absolutely worth it. It was remarkable to see the entire process from start to finish at Lexington Smile Studio and I couldn't help but marvel at what is possible with the modern dental technology they use at their office. As I mentioned in my prior reviews, Dr. Gatti, and the the rest of the staff helped me by providing consistently high quality dental care during the entire process. The one thing I learned about Dr. Gatti is that he's an absolute perfectionist, almost to a fault. Towards the end of my treatments when the crowns were being installed into the titanium implants he initially placed, he was rarely satisfied with the final fit with the adjacent teeth unless the fit was absolutely, positively perfect in every way. Most of the crowns went back for additional customization before they were deemed good enough for the final installation. In my desperation to eat really solid foods again I asked him why they implants had to keep going back to the artist/dental technician for further refinement when they seemed OK to me, so I asked him why it was necessary to keep sending them back and he smiled and said "Michael, I owe you nothing but our very best work" or words to that effect, and of course that made sense and those words were very reassuring. I have been to many dentists over the years who put crowns in for me and not one of them ever took the time to make sure there was a perfect fit with the adjacent teeth, thus causing food impaction over the years, which lead to further decay. It was quite remarkable to see the process, and of course, the final product is gorgeous and I couldn't be more pleased. A little bit about the staff at the office...Brianna his senior dental technician is a marvelous and compassionate caregiver and while she might not realize it, helped me get through some of the tough procedures including extractions and implant placements. While she is technically very competent, it was her great personality that helped me get through a couple of tough procedures. I had Rosie for one or two of the procedures, and she was likewise a marvelous technician. I am also very grateful for Marianne, the office manager who helped make the whole process possible with her flexible financial guidance. Being a registered nurse, I'm not a wealthy man, but she was cognizant of that, and made the whole thing possible by working with my dental insurance and being flexible with me by setting up a payment plan that made it possible to receive the great care I experienced. She was just great, especially when it came to understanding the billing, which can be a bit overwhelming. Of course, the ladies at the front desk, Erika and Elizabeth, were unfailingly kind and courteous whenever I had to manage scheduling multiple appointments, etc. Finally, the technician who actually made my crowns I came to learn is a master at his craft. A Japanese gentleman named Yuki Momma who I never met, but has an online presence and known all over the world for his work and the seminars he gives to young technicians. I viewed some of his online instructional video's that demonstrated how he crafts crowns that fit perfectly and are beautifully reproduced to mimic real teeth. Wow, the crowns he made for me look as realistic as the natural ones I used to have when I was a younger man, and so I feel privileged to carry his exceptional work everywhere I go. Finally, with as many appointments as I had, I feel as though I've gotten to know everyone in the office fairly well, and that's been a special treat. The team there provided a personalized experience, always making me feel right at home and #1 while in their office. I'm pretty sure most folks don't enjoy going to the dentist to get work done, but if you MUST have work done, this fine office is just the place to go. In closing, as my major restoration work came to an end yesterday, I can, without reservation, recommend the practice to anyone who asks. My personal experience over the years has shown that I don't think you can do better than by going to Dr. Gatti at Lexington Smile Studio for any sort of dental procedures, large or small. I was quoted over the phone $90 to re-cement a crown…read more When I checked out, the bill was $145, inc. $75 for a "Limited oral evaluation" (which meant he poked around in my mouth for 90 seconds before putting the crown back in). Now, doesn't he always do that when re-cementing a crown? So why wasn't I just quoted that price? On the way out, I was also quoted a price of $319 for a cleaning (!?). This included the "full mouth x-rays", which I was told are MANDATORY. For anyone who doesn't know, this are x-rays of EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL TOOTH, not the "bite wing" x-rays that most dentists give. For anyone who doesn't know, almost no one needs x-rays of EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL TOOTH, unless there's something going horribly wrong in your entire mouth, but I know there are some dentists out there who try to force it on people. Oh, & he'd already told me that my teeth looked fine (which I pretty much knew, being obsessive about home dental care), so why should I be forced to have x-rays of EVERY SINGLE TOOTH??? Sorry if I'm ranting, but $319 for a cleaning?? That includes stuff you don't need, or want? And you don't have a choice????!

Yesterday (Tuesday) I get a voice mail from Shannon saying "His this is Shannon calling from Dr. Hadar's office confirming your appointment at 3 and 3:30 for (mumble mumble)." I listen to the voice mail 4 times and ask colleagues to interpret the 'mumble mumble' but to no avail. I call Shannon back saying I'm calling to verify this 3 pm appointment. Me: Hi just calling to verify this appointment is at 3 and not at 2? Shannon: No it's at 3 pm. Me: Are you sure, b/c my calendar says 2 and e-mail says 2, but you're saying 3. Shannon: No it's 3, that's strange. I don't know why the system is doing that. Me: What is this appointment at 3:30 for again, I don't remember. Shannon: Oh that's for *mumble mumble*. Me: Excuse me? Shannon: Hold. (time passes) Shannon: Disregard that, you're set for 3 tomorrow. Me: You sure about that? Shannon: Yep. Me: Ok... So it's Wednesday and the phone rings at 2:22. Me: Hello? Woman: Hi this is ___ from Dr. Haddar's office you had an appointment today at 2. (I don't remember her name because at this point I lose it) Me: Are you fucking kidding me? Her: Sir? Me: Are you fucking serious? I had this appointment in my calendar for 2, your computer e-mailed me for 2 and the person yesterday said it was at 3. Her: It's ok you can still... Me: NO! What the fuck? I asked her three fucking times if she was sure it's at 3 and she said yes. Her: But.. Ongoing Complications Following Root Canal Treatment in 2011…read more I am writing to help shed light on a serious and ongoing complication from a root canal procedure performed at this office in 2011. Since that time, I have undergone three surgeries and still experience recurring infection and necrosis that has spread throughout my mouth, resulting in significant health issues. Recently I requested to have some of my health expenses with the proper receipts / notations from the health care providers. They ignored me then had an insurance lawyer write a unprofessional and inaccurate email back. Upon reviewing the x-rays prior to the root canal, tooth #4 was clearly compromised, with clouding surrounding the tooth. However, both Dr. Defrancesco and Dr. Cohen assured me that this was "normal." After the procedure, I was informed that everything appeared to be fine and that any issues might be related to the crown, which was later replaced at my own expense. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the problem, and the infection spread to other teeth, including #4, #5, and #2, as well as other areas in my mouth. I had previously reached out regarding a refund for the procedure, though I wanted to wait for more clarity before taking further action. I knew there was much more to this problem and didn't just want a-refund for the rootcanal. During this time, I encountered unprofessionalism and resistance when I initially made this request. It's also notable that I am a friend of Dr. D's sister in law. If this is how they respond towards people they know on a more personal level how will they treat someone they don't? The root canal procedure involved an apical puncture and overfill, leading to the infection. Immediate post-procedure x-rays revealed that the root canal was not properly executed, and the failure to inform me about the potential risks and complications constitutes a violation of the principle of informed consent. The toxic materials used in the overfilling can cause severe complications, and this has been the case in my situation. The extent of the damage was not and could not have been known until after the supposed statute of limitations had expired. The complications, including the spread of the infection, were not immediately apparent and were only discovered after multiple surgeries. This was hard to prove without convincing a doctor to open up the area, and having money to do it, which finally was done. It is clear that negligence occurred during the procedure, and yet, thid office has not taken responsibility or even shown any sympathy for the harm caused. Following the procedure, I experienced a severe decline in my health, (still having health issues from this to date) with documented issues such as severe sinusitis, post-nasal drip, sore throat, headaches, itchy eyes, vision issue, right ear issues/ pain and drainage issues, swollen lymph nodes, body pains, irritable bowel syndrome, neurological problems, anxiety, depression, stomach issues, cardiovascular problems, and irregular heartbeat. These symptoms worsened over the years and persisted even after tooth #3 was extracted. The spread of infection and necrosis is the primary cause of these ongoing health issues. I now have a tumor on the right side of my neck from persistent issues from this un-acknowledge mistake. My lymph node on the right has been consistently enlarged. Again, I had no previous health issues and all issues are directly related to this. Moreover, the most recent surgery on 3/15/2023 concluded that the original source of the problem in 2011 was tooth #4, not tooth #3 as initially diagnosed. This misdiagnosis led to an unnecessary root canal, which exacerbated the situation and instead cause me to almost die. As dental professionals, it should have been recognized that tooth issues can and do manifest as sensitivity in surrounding teeth. Additionally, Dr. Cohen punctured the apex of tooth #3 and overfilled it into my right sinus cavity without informing me, a serious "oversight" called malpractice. Had they diagnosed me properly and didn't perform a root canal on a healthy tooth none of this would have happened. Given the severity of the situation and the lasting impact on my health, I asked for partial compensation for the procedures not including harm caused or the work and schooling loss I incurred. I cannot afford to get implants which is causing issues with my jaw being uneven. Instead Ive been thrown away like yesterday's trash while they filled their pockets with my money and at the cost of my health/ life. My only hope at this point is to have my voice be heard, even on a small scale such as this and save someone else for having this happen to them.
