Overall, the sites at Duckett Mill are really nice. I am taking off 2 stars because they have really stopped managing the location and it's turning into a bit of a free for all. When we camped last year we were limited to 2 cars, 2 tents, and we had to tell them how many people we would have at the site, and were limited (also reminded twice that no alcohol was allowed). This year, our neighbors have 3 boats, 4 tents, 3 cars, and 12 people, half of which are drinking heavily. And blasting music that you can probably hear across the entire peninsula. So it's definitely not as enjoyable the way it has been in the past. Still great views, but the rules are a joke. read more

Beautiful park surrounding by Lake Lanier. Lots of paved and mostly flat ground if you have a pet or to walk to enjoy cycling. Almost every campsite has a lovely view. There's a public boat ramp, beach area and grills. This park is a lovely one stop shop for all! read more

I stayed for what I thought was 5 days.My fault that I got my days mixed up and left 1 day early. So my story is, I camped with my 2 grandkids 8 &13. We were going to another campground after this one. I thought it was the 9th check out day and my husband came to move my camper. He had a flat tire at the campground so I immediately went to the office to let them know I may be late. Spoke with them 3-4 times. They were extremely nice check the reservation said no one was checking in behind me so I was good, said "no problem we're not going to camping police on you" kept making little comments like that knowing the whole time I was checking out a day early. I was so upset to the point of tears cause I thought I was late and had a flat tire. The entire time they were laughing and joking but never told me I was checking out early. They could have told me but wanted to laugh instead. The best thing about the campground is the sand beach. Refund was denied because of cancellation policy which is fine just don't expect any kind people to watch out for you. read more

Beautiful campground and great campsites. Stayed in site #82 (lake front) very well kept- clean. Definitely will be staying here often. The host on staff Angelo and his wife were very friendly. Beach area is very nice and well kept. Definitely my favorite place for camping and Duckett Mill has my vote as a great place for a getaway at the lake. read more

We like it. It's not perfect. I wasn't super impressed with the showers on site. The little beach area could use some work. But we had a great site and we plan on using it over and over. Already booked another weekend here. The property managers were nice to us. I think this is a family place. No one needs to be getting lit up and partying like a fraternity. There are kids everywhere. Pretty sure if you're just here to enjoy nature, use the lake and peaceful relax, you're probably not going to have any issues with the old guy in the office. read more

Campgrounds are beautiful, great lake spaces, nice amenities. Only issue is management! They could do everything through the drive thru window, but insist you come Into the office. Made us move 2 visiting vehicles to half a mile down the road because someone was coming into the extra space they were in - no one ever came! The best part of the campground is the access to the lake. We stayed at site 78. The sites are very nice and clean. We put two 6 men tents on the site and still had room for the table. 2 families of 4 stayed on the site. We had 3 other couples that went with us and stayed on 2 other sites. The restrooms had no showers. no paper towers or no trash cans in the restrooms. The showers are located at the very front entrance of the park. Would I stay here again? Yes but the only reason is for the lake access above Browns Bridge. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PARK! One of the park host "Lin B" is absolutely the rudest old man I have ever met in my entire life. This old man hates his job and doesn't have a problem being rude, insulting and actually screaming at you in the office. I think he actually tries to provoke you into getting mad so he can call the park ranger and have you removed from the park. He will make your experience awful. Go just up Hwy 53 a short distance and go to Bolding Mill Campground. My experience began when I had a 7 day reservation at this park. I called Recreation.gov 24 hours before my arrival and told them we could only stay 5 days. The informed me since it was within the 48 hour window the park host would have to issue me a refund when I arrived. I've done this before and I know they can issue refunds. When we checked in I told Lin B. what Rec.gov said and he quickly informed me that recreation.gov was a liar and he would not give me a refund. He absolutely refused! Once we got to our campsite, the electrical power was so low that we could not run our a/c without risk of burning up our a/c unit. I called recreation.gov and told them about the situation and they agreed to give me a refund minus the fee for the day we checked in. Seems fair to me but first the host had to check me out of the park. We stopped by the office on our way out, told him why we were leaving (power issued) and hold him what Recreation.gov said and he started screaming, and I mean screaming at me calling me a liar. His screaming was so bad my husband just said leave this crazy man alone and lets get out of here. He was actually starting to scare me. I've seen this man be rude to other customers before. I do not understand why the Corp of Engineers continues to let this man work at this campground. Go to Bolding Mill Campground, Bald Ridge Campground or Sawnee campground on Lake Lanier. Their staff is must better. read more

We have just started camping this year but have been to Shady Grove and Bolding Mills several times. Family members have been here before so wanted to camp together. The sites we had weren't bad 80-83 but the grass was in need of mowing and our greeting was less than southern hospitality. While we understand the need to explain the rules, there's a difference in explaining them and welcoming you or making you feel like you've met Walter from Jeff Dunham. Get your sh#@ and get out. Usually stay at Bolding Mill but decided to try this one. Glad I did! My site was amazing having walk to lake and ability to tie up my boat. Great fishing spots everywhere. Clean restrooms. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I'll be back and I'll be asking for THIS site again. Didn't have issues with power. read more

We are arriving late, our GPS says that we will be arriving at 8:50pm, will we still be able to check in for our reservation at that time? I did see On our reservation that the gatehouse is open until 9pm, and doesn't lock until 10:30pm, so just wanted to see if we will still be able to make it. We're a bit stressed at the moment, so if anybody has any information as to whether or not we can still check in to the facility 5-10 mins before 9pm, it would be so much appreciated! This campground is beautiful but the electricity is very bad. If we want to use our air conditioner we need our generators. On the voltage meter it is in the red, and we've stayed in just about every area in the park. FYI. read more

This places manager was really rude swearing at my mother in front of a bunch of people accusing us of shooting of fireworks. I don't know who you think you are coming at 1:00am in the morning verbally attacking my family and friends. A kid was also not breathing and the staff was called, but didn't come right away and took there sweet time. That is unacceptable. read more

At night we had a kid that could not breathe and the gate was locked and the camp ground attendant took forever to open the gate and was slow. Then was wrongly accused of setting off fireworks and cursing at a female family member. read more

Me and my girlfriend went for the night, and although it got fairly cold last night we had a great time. The staff is absolutely amazing, plenty of spots to fish, and the lots were decent size as well. I will definitely be back! read more
