Love this dock we are on. Its well-kept and a fine place to store your boat. What I do not like is the price increases without notice annually and no notice one is coming. Went up 200 bucks a year. Members get few perks and Parking in the summer on J dock is not well monitored for members. I would be ok with the rate increase if they put a drop gate on the parking lot for J dock like the others have!! read more

Weather in Georgia cleared up for this past Saturday - at last! I had planned a surprise outing with all of our closest friends for my partner's birthday approximately 1.5 months in advance. Reserving the boats were easy. Completing the certification for the boats were straightforward and easy to complete. Establishment is clean and well kept. Day of, after the damage inspection of the boats rented - 35' party yacht and 32' mega cruiser , we were loaded up and ready to go! Everything was smooth, but towards the end of the day. An anchor on one of the boats got stuck. It wouldn't budge - no matter what we did. Ultimately, we had to cut it. This occurs frequently to other boat renters, as it could get stuck from remnants of the city below the lake. It was $40 to replace the anchor. Overall, we'll definitely return. Folks at Port Royale Marina were so accommodating and informative. read more

They totally tried to rip me off. I towed my boat up and had Randy take a look at it. They first said it was going to be $3000 dollars , then came back with an estimate of $14000!!!! TOTAL SCAM. Love how easy is to put the boat in and out the water using the app. Today we had to removed the boat and put it on the trailer for repairs and Jeremy was super helpful and went far and beyond to help these newbies with the boat loading. I lived in Tampa for six years and desire more than anything to get back down there to the tropical environment and just to enjoy the geographical layout with water all around me. However, I finally stumbled across a place in Georgia on Lake Lanier that gets me that type of serenity I'm looking for inland. Introducing Paradise Rental Boats at Port Royale! I googled this place and found it online and after researching decided to visit here on Memorial Day weekend! They had two options even during the busy holiday weekend; a brand-new pontoon boat or a jet ski. My girlfriend and I chose the pontoon boat and decided to invite her brother. Before arriving I completed a boat readiness test which was very easy but was a requirement to rent the boat. When we pulled up to the marina I was surprised to see that it was everything I was hoping for! There was a ramp down to the rental spot and it got me in the mood for the adventure that was about to transpire. Everything was clean and all the staff was dressed in matching uniforms and they explained everything in detail that left me with no confusion. The boat was brand new and have a great stereo on it! We chose to rent the pontoon boat for four hours and drove all the way out to Sunset Cove where there were many boats and lots of partying going on! We cruised around throughout the boats and felt fancy for a bit lol. After returning there was a really cool tiki hut bar and outdoor restaurant! Total cost for the boat rental was $266 which we split three ways for four hours. We had to fill up the gas tank which was only about $22. Highly, highly, highly recommend you go here and you'll probably see me out there every single weekend! read more

No, absolutely not. We live in Cumming so we really wanted to be at a closer marina. When we moved here from Florida there was no space. We ended up at Aqualand which is lovely but a little far. I called 10 months later and was told the following; "We have a few 40 foot ( there were about 20 spots to choose from) and we are letting people have one of those for the price of a 25 ft until the new dock is built." I was super happy. We paid a LOT for Jan-April. We still had that much time at the other marina paid for, we just wanted to secure a spot. We signed a contract for that amount as well. On March 8th we got an email that we had to pay the amount for a 40 ft, or choose an available 25 ft. I was like WTH? I called them that afternoon. I got a frantic, rude woman. She said the decision came from upper management and they had had to deal with this all day! In spite of them telling us the above, and having a contract, we would have to pay a lot more to keep that. She said they had been calling people all day, not us, and now there was one 25 ft choice left and we had to take that one. Period. She said they had a bunch that morning but now there was one. I said whoa hold on a minute. We have a contract. She said well there was no choice. She was so rude. I said I don't like that spot. She said we HAD TO TAKE IT. I told her we were not staying there and my husband called her. They didn't even notify us in time for us to do a 30 day notice which is required. My husband said you gave us 24 day notice so we are unable to give a 30 day. They said that was fine which is a miracle. I was prepared to hire a lawyer. On top of that their restaurant is not good. It was up there with one of the worst customer service experiences ever. Aqualand has been wonderful. We are happy to stay there. Port Royale is not even that nice. The gate to the back side was not working for 3 months up to when we left. There was crap all over the docks. You have to buy an expensive adapter to use the electric hook up. The dock boxes are placed so you can barely walk around them. And need I bring up that their word and a contract means nothing. They suck. read more

We have our boat docked here in one of their wet slips! Amazing Marina!! The staff is 1st class all the way. It feels like a family! Fellow boaters are super friendly! Pelican Pete's Tiki Bar is great for entertainment when you don't want to venture too far out on your boat. It is in the middle of everything! Just south of the Marina is the chaotic energy of Margaritaville and to your north is just plain old calm and relaxation! Best Marina and most well kept on Lake Lanier! read more

Super easy renting a pontoon from Port Royale Marina. Price was good, boat was clean and easy to operate. The staff was friendly and walked us through the rental process easily. *My friend rented a boat her for like 10-14 of us. Not sure how easy the logistics were... Parking - They have a massive lot, BUT get here early. My group arrived around 10am. The lot was half full. If you're eager to go boating, get here early. I know it sucks not to sleep in and drink later in day, but the parking can be a pain in the ass I feel like if you get here too late. Checking In - My friend and another person were Captains... aka, learn the boat stuff. Took around 20ish mins? We bought a ton of us with us. Food, drinks, etc. I think the only rule is no glasses? I'd advise to bring a ton of water bottles, a ton of booze, mini soda cans, trash bags (we forgot!), and solo cups (we forgot this too). After we found out spot on the lake, we just chilled. As we got back to the dock, the folks that helped us earlier were there as well. Got us back into the boat spot. Not sure how much it was... but this was totally fun. A group of 10 of us rented a boat here over the weekend and from start to finish, the experience was seamless and fantastic! I've never been to Lake Lanier since I've moved to Georgia but was pleasantly suprised when visiting Port Royale Marina this past Saturday. Our boat was clean, fueled and ready to hit the lake. Our attendent was efficient and very courteous. He made sure that before we left for our trip out on the lake that everything on the boat was secure and full equipped. I have found my new water spot! Now I absolutely recommend this to you that love boating, water sports & lakes. I always wondered what all the whooplaH was all about & now I know! For starters I wasn't expecting to arrive at my destination & past my turn into here because, the signage was very fancy. Not exactly what I was looking for. I thought it was a fancy residence or apartments but, it read Port Royal after I past the driveway...I had to bust A U-e! Lol A short drive to park so, no long curvy road w/various turns & roads to choice from like at Altoona Lake. Don't worry, no entrance fee and the restrooms are conveniently located right before the ramp to docks. Again, once we arrived to register & check out our boat...the staff was professional, timely & effortlessly smooth. Now I must say if you want a nice boat...it's 1st come, 1st served but, I guess this is what happens when you book in the afternoon rental. The nicer, cleaner or newer boats were probably already chosen & out in the water. And we had to point out a few boo-boo's & ask the guy to fix this & repair that. At any rate...the water was super choppy but, the Party Boat which holds a max of 26people it ran perfectly fine. During our rental time out on the lake we had a ball, it was my best time ever at a lake. I have a new favorite lake & it's most definitely LAKE LANIER! Looking forward to visiting this lake again & next time I plan on eatting at the Pelican bar they have there as the cocktails looked great! read more

Don't even think about getting a refund from the leasing office. I rented a slip at Port Royale Gainesville GA for over 2 years. After selling the boat and transferring the slip lease to the new owners it has been 10 months and they still ignore my requests for my refund. And I'm still getting the statement every month that shows my credit balance. read more

This is a fun place to get some gas, buy some snacks and beverages and relax for a minute before heading back out to the lake. The prices are very reasonable and the restaurant and marina are very clean and well maintained. They had a guy playing guitar and entertaining our fellow boaters and I really enjoyed the scenery. Next time we are gonna hang out a little bit, grab a cocktail and enjoy the festivities. My bro needs a little work done on his boat so they make it very convenient one stop shop. My family had an amazing time here, everything was so easy and the staff was super helpful. I used a groupon so it wasn't too expensive. The pontoon we rented was clean and high quality. My family brought our own tubes, and the staff gave us ropes no charge no problem. The lake was incredibly beautiful. We were charged for gas- after 4hrs our gas fee was $11. I would absolutely come back, I would definitely recommend this place, and I would absolutely say this was one of my favorite things I have done in Northern Georgia. read more

The marina is not on some older gps systems. You may have to use a phone navigation app. There is a guard gate , so be ready to state why you are there. The grounds leading up to it are beautiful ( there are lake side community lots for sale if you want to build a house out there) the marina is very well maintained . Leave your dry clothes in the car and change in the bathroom on land! There are several bathrooms on the dock . A restaurant and a mini store with everything you may have forgotten , but need- or you didn't know you needed to be on the water! The staff were easily identified, knowledgeable, and friendly! I have rented from here for years and always had a good experience. The customer service the last couple years has really gone downhill. Purchased a coupon for a Monday through Friday Rental only to find out that they have now designated the ENTIRE WEEK OF THE 4TH OF JULY as a holiday. So now i cannot use the coupon I planned to use, and they will not allow me to just credit the amount of the coupon to a LARGER boat rental?!? Unaccommodating and completely unwilling to compromise. Disappointed. Boats had issues... seemed a bit long in the tooth. The marina personnel seem oblivious to the fact that there is a worldwide pandemic. And customers are marginally better. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Charge you to store your boat, at full price, all winter in dry stack, charge you to winterize your boat and then say it's not their job to make sure the boat is in running condition in the spring. And when you question them about why they wouldn't be responsible for checking boats in the spring, they say is not what they do and a lot of boats sink because the plugs aren't in them. Are you kidding me?? Their repair manager stated that the battery was dead but he "couldn't get the boat to start." And he's the repair manager but he doesn't know that if the battery is dead, you either charge it or replace it. I will be finding a new marina on lake lanier where they actually know to run a marina and don't use the excuse that they have "over 500 boats to take care of" for why they can't provide basic customer service to people who pay top dollar for boat storage and service. read more

While the marina is fabulous, our rentals were not as I would have expected out of them. Not only did our gas gauge not work, we received a wake board with a broken quick release clip so the piece was tied in a knot. When I told the young man that helped us return he totaled ignored my comments as if I didn't exist. Not sure I will rent from here again. read more

Had a dock slip there back when it was called Lan Mar Marina back in the late 90s and had a house boat docked there in the year 2014.... both times, the billing was almost always wrong and always ALWAYS in their favor... strange how it's also the same lady still working there 15 years later in the billing department. They must give her bonuses at the each of each billing quarter for screwing the most customers. And it's not just me.... I move out of there AGAIN...and a few months later, some of my neighbors came to the new marina I'm at now. I ask them why they moved their houseboat from Port Royale.... low and behold, it was for the very same reasons. If u talk to other houseboat owners, they to will tell u the same problems,, But they put up with it because of the location near their homes. Oh... and if the security guard isn't at his post during the late evening hours and u have forgotten ur magnetic gate card.... ur screwed,,, on a few instances, I had to wait to get to my boat for over 15 minutes b4 I could get back to my boat..... Oh, and if u drive a sports car that is really low to the ground.... good luck rolling ur window down in a hard rain to stretch out to reach for the card pad reader. All your window buttons get doust in rain. Really smart thinking Port Royale. And, also, I could go on and on about how they could care less about the grown ups shooting bottle rockets from one set of docks to the other... damn red-necks with money... just no sense at all. Can't wait to see the local tv news when they find a boat on fire and can't figure out why it happened. I hope also that when a member finds a small burn hole in their vinyl seating or Eisenglass.. now they will know why. read more
