So, I was getting a new dryer and decided it would be a good time to clean out my dryer lint vent…read more I ordered a kit with a round brush and some flexible rods that you attach to a drill and feed through the vent to clean out the lint. Sounds simple enough, right? So the flexible rods that screw together unfortunately separate while I'm using the drill and the brush and several of the rods are stuck inside the duct. I watch a YouTube video explaining how to remove it (it apparently happens frequently) by buying additional rods and attaching a "corkscrew" made from a wire hanger which you feed into the duct by hand to hopefully "grab" onto the brush and pull it out. You guessed it, that got stuck too. I called King Air Duct Cleaning and Lance (the owner) assured me that he understood the issue and he would be able to squeeze me in so I could start using my new dryer. Lance was here this morning and he was amazing. Within 20 minutes he had both of the pieces removed from the duct and all of the built-up lint cleared. Then he hooked up my new dryer, tested the airflow and assured me everything was good to go! And the cost was about 1/3 of what I thought it would be! Highly recommended!!!

They're more common than people think, and are definitely a major cause of fires. It had sucked up a filter into the duct and also needed electrical rework . Matt was the most honest and genuine A/C service tech I've ever worked with. Didn't try to sell me service plans or add/ons ( thank you thank you!!!) My unit went back to working properly and Matt also educated me on how to properly service it with routine filter changes. Finally an A/C company that isn't in it to rip off a single lady homeowner! I will be calling on Comfort World for my routine servicing -and again can't say how appreciative I am to have found them. TLDR: CALL MIKE HE SAVED MY HOUSE FROM BURNING DOWN! HARDEST WORKING PERSON YOU'LL EVER MEET Story on my experience below: First off, thank you Mike, for saving my home from a potential fire, for being the one of the hardest working people I've met in a long time. What started as a quote to find air-vent cleaning turned into the best call i've made in a long time. I called around the first place that gave me a quote was nothing but unfriendly, which made me reach out to Duct Dudes...Mike was willing to come out on a Saturday since my work was unable to allow me to have the service performed during the week. When Mike arrived he was extremely professional, on time, had boot covers, and work ethic and enthusiasm that you truly don't find much anymore, anywhere! He got right to work cleaning the Ducts, and even provided an anti-bacterial solution which kills the dust mites and helps tremendously with the freshness of smell. Mike worked his butt off, he was sweating, and got it done in a timely efficient matter, but what really changed my world was what happened next, I mentioned it was an older home and that we possibly might need the dryer vent cleaned as well since he was already here. He had no problem checking it out - fished a camera down the line and commented "I'd feel bad taking your money if you called me for only the dryer vent". He overheard that our dryer had been throwing a "D80" code which we assumed was just something unordinary (wont be doing that again), turns out this means theres an 80% blockage in the vent somewhere. This is when Mike truly kicked into action and saved our day. He jumped on the roof midday (mind you its 120 + degrees outside) and told us he could not feel any exhaust coming from the vent, he then realized quickly my exhaust was ran through the attic. Without any hesitation he grabbed the ladder and got into the attic (160 degrees +) to quickly determine that the pipe was pinched and not allowing any exhaust. He told us this could be extremely dangerous and lead to fires, hopped down and immediately grabbed parts to repair the duct. He knew he had another job after but still sprung into action, cutting the old duct out, and immediately found smoldering debris and residue in the air vent, literally already starting to burn!! Without Mike my home might have burned down within months, and I truly am forever grateful and thankful to the passion and dedication he spent. After the work was done he got back on the roof (120Degrees+ out) and confirmed with confidence we had exhaust. He sweated his ass off, and his services were extremely reasonably priced. So many points he could have told me to call somebody else, or figure it out because he had another job, but instead he gave 120% until he said goodbye. The whole experience was unforgettable, I've started referring Mike to my parents and everyone I know. The air is 10000x fresher when you take in deep breaths, and I can breathe easy knowing my house wont burn down anymore. CALL MIKE IF YOU READ THIS FAR JUST CALL YOU WONT REGRET IT! If I could rate Duct Dudes, i.e. Mike, 20 stars it might come up to what he accomplished at my house today. I had had a previous duct cleaning service that you all know from the coupons and they cleared the bottom half of my dryer pipe, I guess. Unfortunately, we have a two-story house and there is a twist in t he duct on the way to the roof and they didn't go past the twist. Mike climbed up on the ladder at 110° and searched for one of the pipes that actually had outflow, brought his equipment to the roof and cleaned the top to bottom. Then he came down and re-cleaned from the bottom. I would never go with another dryer duct cleaning service other than Mike's company. He was well worth the flat fee of $99 he charged.
