I called The Top Hatter because our Dryer Vent was clogged causing the Dryer to heat-up excessively and turn off. The Top Hatter responded quickly to my request for assistance and were able to come to my Home the very next Day. On the Day of the Appointment, 3 Technicians entered my Home and immediately went to work. They cleaned the Vent at the Dryer entry Point and from the exit Point on the Roof. They completed the Work and show me before and after Photos of the Vent Ductwork. Now our Dryer is functioning properly. All three Technicians were polite, courteous, and expeditious. This company was recommended to me by my realtor. I scheduled an appointment with then for 11 AM to 1 PM. When they didn't arrive by 1:00 pm I contacted them and I was told that they would arrive sometime between 2 and 4 PM. They wasted my entire day sitting around waiting for them to show up when they knew that I could not be there past 2:00 PM. The owner reached out to me to apologize, give me a discount, and offer to reschedule with me. I messaged him back to reschedule and still have not heard anything. I was so blessed to have found them because the dust roaming around in my AC split system was awful and I had just had the ducts cleaned by a different Co & it actually made it worse. Mike answered the phone at The Top Hatter & explained everything to me about how their system of duct cleaning works & then I understood why the previous Co method failed. What a a great chimney sweep company! They were on time with their appointment, affordable, and thorough. The two servicemen that came out were passionate about fireplaces and keeping them running smoothly. They emptied out one or two garbage bags full of soot and debris from our chimney and ash trap. They used a shop-vac and left the place spotless. Now that the weather is cold out (which is unusual for Arizona), we will be using the fireplace regularly. I spent hours comparing companies for duct cleaning services and a/c diagnostic tests in order to find a reputable company with reasonable prices. I wasn't sure if I even needed this service, but none of the companies that I reached out to were even willing to discuss more than scheduling a cleaning over the phone. The Top Hatter was different. When I called, I was immediately greeted by an actual person instead of an automated service or a greeting that says to go online for an appointment. I didn't catch his name but he had a 10 minute conversation with me where he clearly explained the whole process in terms that anyone could understand. I had a small kitchen fire and requested duct cleaning and smoke treatment to clean my home from any potential debris left over by the smoke. Due to potential health hazard risks associated with smoke residue left over after the fire, I and my family have been staying at my moms. The company was able to get me an appointment the next day for anytime. The technician's Humberto and JR were very polite and even showed up early. Not only that but they commented they would be finished in about 3 hours which they only actually ended up needing 2 1/2 hours. My home no longer smells like smoke and we can move back into our home. My dryer started smoking on Monday and I called Top Hatter and got an appointment the next day. The guys that came out were so nice and very professional. They did a fantastic job and they also did something that none of the other companies that I've used in the past...they Roto-Rootered out my entire vent from the top of my house all the way down to my dryer vent. They also used their converted leaf blower and blew it out from the bottom to the top. They said there was a ton of lint that came out. I was so glad to hear that. Who knows how long that had been that way...long enough for my dryer to start smoking and could've caused a fire. Gave him some details on square footage... etc. also wanted my dryer vent cleaned. Easy. Gave me the estimate and said that will never be more than that. Made the appointment. Not only on time.... early!! Mike and his team of guys came in and went to work. Removed the painted over vents in my home.... and cleaned the vents!! The metal cap on top of our chimney tore loose during a monsoon. It was way up high over our second story and there was no way I could safely get to it. I called them on Friday, they said they could do the work on Monday and it would cost $450 to replace and clean the chimney. They showed up on time and were able to use my current cap by just re-fastening it. They also said no cleaning needed, so the price was only $75. Superb deal, very ethical workmanship. read more
