I am writing this review to show my appreciation and gratitude to this law office and their entire team of lawyers. I was arrested for DUI on several occasions in San Diego. I had never been in that much trouble before. I was terrified. Anxiety was keeping me awake, my stomach was in knots, and the stress of it all definitely took it's toll on my relationship with family, friends and most importantly, my fiance. I received plenty of mail and emails from lawyers claiming to be "the best". My intuition was telling me not to go with the very first lawyer or firm that I spoke with. A couple weeks had passed when I heard of Mr. DUI (The Law Office of Eugene Ellis). I went in to meet with him and never felt so comfortable provided the circumstances. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis were very knowledgeable in every possible aspect of what I was going to be facing. They actually cared about me as a person, I wasn't just a dollar sign sitting in front of them. They walked me through the whole process, step by step, and basically held my hand the entire time. They never once spoke to me or treated me like a criminal. They genuinely cared for my well-being. Now, don't get me wrong...I am not proud of getting behind the wheel after having a few drinks. I deeply regret what I did, and thank my lucky stars every day that I did not hurt myself or God forbid, anyone else. We are all human, we make mistakes. We all have the freedom to make choices, however we are not free of the consequences of those choices. You might be thinking "people who are arrested for DUI are all evil". You may be overgeneralizing. You may think "I drink and drive, I will never get caught"...think again. It's only a matter of time. Mr. Ellis and his team of attorneys showed up at every one of my scheduled court dates, I was not asked to go one time. When I found out I was facing one year in jail, I was even more terrified. Jail is no vacation. It's filthy, cold, loud, unsanitary, and no, you don't get steak sauce with your mystery meat meals. Anyhow, this law firm kept me out of jail completely. I feel like I owe them so much more than just the attorney fees and costs. I truly am grateful for everything they have done for me. They helped me realize I'm not a bad person, I just made a bad choice. There is not a day that goes by where I have forgotten how amazing this law office is and more importantly the genuine people who fill it and work hard every day to help others in my same situation. I recommend Mr. DUI to anybody and everybody who has had the misfortune of getting pulled over while somewhat or even overly intoxicated. Because of the outstanding team of lawyers, I did not lose a year of my life to the system. I was fairly put into treatment and have been attending since Jan. 2010. Everything happens for a reason. I cannot thank you enough for all of your help, guidance, and wisdom regarding my DUI charge. It was such an emotional time of uncertainty, fear, and constant second guessing of the incident. We know now that as soon as I agreed to answer the Officer's questions I was giving him an ample opportunity to misinterpret my actions and exaggerate any minor detail to support his opinion. Your research demonstrated to us that my breath test, when taken an hour after my stop, was really closer to .03 or so while driving. Law enforcement, you explained, knows this and often delays the situation in hopes that a person's alcohol level will increase sufficiently for their needs. They are very confident that most people will not fight the DUI charge and unfortunately they are often right. Even though we knew I was not guilty, taking this battle to court was the hardest thing we have ever done. Thank you so much for your help. My trial lawyer was wonderful and presented the facts to the jury brilliantly. My eyes were filled with emotion when the jury delivered the verdict NOT GUILTY and the nightmare was over. Eugene Ellis and his wife are the head of a miracle team. Not once but twice they got my case dismissed. No bargaining to a lesser charge. I got my life back thanks to Mr. DUI 2 times. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Yes, it will cost you, but it's worth it to have no criminal record. The first case he was able to drag out for years! It was unbelievable. He and his team just did their thing and I had nothing to worry about. Somehow they just kept their defense going so strong waiting and waiting for the opponent to fumble. And that's just what happened. The DA fumbled, we grabbed the ball and went for the touchdown, game over, case dismissed, I was free to go. No dui classes, no probation, no worries. It was the greatest feeling when we finally won. I should have learned my lesson, but I didn't. And if you are up for your first offense, beware, these things have a way of repeating themselves, you DON'T want to face a second DUI. . . anyway. . . On my second case I wondered if perhaps I just got lucky the first time when they got me off. So, I Paid them their thousands once again but it was worth every penny. Because they got me off a second time. In the middle of the case, I had the opportunity to plead to a lesser charge (wet reckless) but I still would have an alcohol conviction on my record. Eugene and his team are fighters, they are nasty fighters, they encouraged me to fight and not give in. So that is what I did and I won my second case free and clear. Case dismissed! No DUI, no criminal record, no probation, no nothing. I recommend quitting completely as the ultimate solution, but in the meantime, if you got caught drinking and driving go with Eugene Ellis. I know some people left bad reviews regarding this law firm, but I would like to share my story for others. So, people know about the good things they have done for me. Long story short, it was my first DUI case, and I was about to get my first DUI charge 4 years ago. I heard good things about Mr. DUI (Eugene Ellis) and his crew from San Diego, so I decided to give them a try. To be honest, I don't think they are cheap at all compare to other law firms. BUT they do get things done and they will try their best to get you out of trouble. I was involved in a car accident with alcohol in my blood, but no one was hurt luckily. Instead of getting my first DUI, Mr. Ellis fought for me and got me a wet reckless driving charge. Which is much better than a DUI, and saved me a lot of money on car insurance for years. DUI will stay with you for 10 years! To me, I think the money is worth it as long as I don't get a DUI charge on my record. I went back to them 4 years later and asked them to get me my court documents plus writing me a letter for an occupational license that I am applying now. All the members in the law firm were very happy to assist me with things that I needed. Special thanks to Mr. Ellis and his lovely wife May. They treated me like their own son and helped me in any ways they can to make sure my life is back on track. Both Mr. and Mrs. Ellis work hard and late every night at their office to help their clients. I know some people might not agree with me, but the reality is that you can't really keep everyone happy plus everyone's case is different. I am so very greatful for this law firm. A friend of mine recommended the Law Office of Eugene Ellis, after I got myself in a bad but stupid circumstance. I decided to take my friends offer up, and I went to see them. First, they give free initial referrals, which was definitely nice! They spent a very long time with me and let me talk with them regarding my incident. I was very scared and nervous but they made me feel very assured and relieved that I was going to be taken care of! I was blown away by the knowledge that this firm had regarding DUI information. I was then put in contact with there main "chief trial attorney" Louis Pilato. All I can say is WOW! He was incredible! He knew the "in's and out's" of DUI, which was extremely important, since I didn't have a clue and felt totally lost in the matter. Louis Pilato made me feel comfortable leaving this matter in his hands. He took care of everything but always kept me aware of what was going on! He informed me of proceedings well in advanced, was extremely patient with me, and was always available to answer any questions through email, phone, and offered to meet in person if I needed (which seldom happens to have all these forms of communication open). All of this is important, but the final verdict is always the deciding factor with these types of things, which was amazing in my case! I was arrested for A DUI and refused to take the BAC test. Blood was forcibly drawn. Faced with a one year suspended license, I turned to Mr DUI. Before the suspension began, Mr Ellis and his experienced team of attorneys got a DMV ruling to allow me to continue driving with a restricted license if I took a 3 month DUI program. I've now completed most all of the three month First Conviction Program and what an eye opener. The FUDs are real. I met a person that spent 77 days in jail on her first offense, at least 3 people that lost their jobs, a person arrested for a second offense years later with only .03 BAC who is now participating in an 18 month torture program and has 5 years of probation. Your sentence is up to the Judge and some are not very lenient. If you are concerned about spending $4000 to fix this unjust system, think twice. Also, don't hire a handyman to tile you bathroom, spend a little extra and get a professional that tiles for a living, day in and day out. Mr. Ellis limits his practice solely to DUI and it shows. My case has yet to be heard, but Mr. DUI and his team have collected evidence, done research, interviewed witnesses and filed motions with the court; all in a timely and professional manner. It still remains to be seen if the charges will be dropped, but at least I have confidence that the strategy developed by Mr. Ellis and his experienced support team are on a winning track. read more

Not sure why someone would write a negative review of Mr Ellis and his office, but it must come from someone who has never visited with his team. I visited with MANY attorneys before I made it to Mr Ellis, and even visited with another after I met with him. No one (gut feeling) felt right prior to meeting him, and I even went elsewhere after our meeting to confirm my feeling. It was obvious to me that he was the most experienced in the region....possibly the country. Once I hired Mr Ellis, I was still in complete control. My options were always laid out for me (and there are many options) . The choices regarding the direction and aggressiveness of my case were always mine. We ended up going to trial many months after my arrest, because I had an outstanding lawyer that filed MANY motions to put us in the best position to win my case. We won my case and I felt like I was part of the team the entire time. If you NEED to win your case, as I did, go with the most experienced team (through my own research) in Southern California. To those who made nasty comments below, remember a lawyer cannot always win your case. You go in knowing that you may have to go to trial. Regardless, my experience with Mr.Ellis was very good, and have decided to use their Mr.Ticket as well. When I was in court, most people were very happy with the outcome of their cases (handled by this law firm). I was referred by a good friend (after going to a well known chain, that really is a scam). Mr. Ellis was upfront, spent time expaining things to me. I thought I was going to end up in Jail, but I did not. I cannot express my gratitude toward Mr.Ellis and his wife enough. Not only did they help with my court case, they treated me as a person and helped me though a difficult time. Because of them, and others, I have changed my life around and hope that I never have to use his services again. But for anyone else that is in need, he is highly recommended. All I can honestly say is WOW and THANK YOU!!!!! I found myself in a VERY bad legal predicament and needed an attorney ASAP. A co-worker pointed me to the law office of Eugene Ellis and I went to see him. Mr. Ellis is a very unique individual, VERY smart but with some... conspiratorial ideas about the government and economics. I think those ideas help him in his conviction to fight so hard against DUI arrests (which is the kind of stuff that makes people think attorneys are just blood-suckers). But I honestly believe he had my best interest at heart and his team worked hard for me. I only give four stars cause I think only my Mother deserves 5, and that's cause I'm kind of an idiot... i.e. the DUI. Anyway, I want to thank Mr. Ellis and his associates for helping me get through a difficult time. I felt like they were honest with me about my situation, in regards to the penalties I would be facing, and the price of their service was fair. Mr. Ellis has a load of experience, he and his attorneys kept me informed and I only appeared in court once. He had done an astonishing job for me. Im sorry for those who do not grasp the specific details and ciriculum that is supposed to be done on your end but DUI cases are not to be taken lightly . ITs a serious crime and does take careful measures to work with the firm but mainly only because the superior courts sometimes ask for your side of the story of statement and what you can remember. Officers already know. The firm tries there best to soften the actual situation because our justice system is a bit crooked. The trials are expensive yes. But if you don't have the money Than go ahead and just plead guilty but be cautious. Consequences may become much worse if not carefully negotiated if you know you not guilty. read more

Very simple; if I didn't hire an attorney I would have been in a world of hurt. Mr. Ellis gave me options that I didn't know existed, and trust me I did research my options. I thought that I could plea for myself and get out of losing my license, at least, because I had read about how unreliable those breath machines were and I know I didn't drink enough to blow over the limit.
