He has depression/anxiety and needs them to be able to function. The pharmacy has to contact the doctor each time that he needs more medication which takes a while. There's also been a time where the papers weren't signed to get sent over to the pharmacy. It happened twice. Yeah we are looking elsewhere for care.

A Physical Therapist came by first day and provided basic exercises and taught how to walk with walker. Nursing care was haphazard. Ringing the bell to get attention often resulted in 15+ minute delays (no fun when you need to use the bathroom and you are told you cannot go by yourself, but have to be attended by a hospital employee). IV fluid delivery malfunctioned, setting off alarm, and no one came to check on it.

Savannah went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and went over the process with me to make sure I understood everything. I experienced no pain or discomfort during the procedure at all! Of course, my eye doctor, James Wood of Chapel Hill Ophthalmology, had a lot to do with the actual surgery, but the staff here gave him wonderful support. I was scheduled to have my other eye done at a different facility, but after my experience at Davis, I called and changed my appointment to have it done here! He purposely throws stuff out there during pre-op conversation to see if I'm consistent with my answers about whether or not I am a heavy drinker or do illegal drugs. When he said "Case of Beer" I was like - "Whaaaat???" My bride & I looked at each other like "Is he trying to find out if I'm a big time partier?" Anyway, courteous staff at registration and pre-op. I'm not sure about billing yet because my EOB's (so far) don't match what I was charged prior to having the procedure done. Maybe more to come on this.

Our 87-year old father fell and broke his hip. Our journey started in the ER where Christopher and Kim and the ER doctors initiated his care. Daddy was admitted and the team on the 3rd floor were exceptional. Kristy, Louri, Rachel, Bettie, Andrea, Phyllis, were his regular care givers. Dr Veasy was the surgeon who performed the surgery and fixed the break with his great expertise. Dr Sherman Lee, the anesthesiologist not only took care of pre-op anesthesia but helped with post op pain. We learned so much from him. The man is brilliant in his field. Both doctors have the best bedside manner and treated my father not only as a patient but more importantly as a fellow human being. The cafeteria staff were gracious and kind and they know how to cook good ole healthy comfort food. Tamara, Tanya and the rest of the staff go the extra mile to make sure everyone gets fed, providing service with a beautiful smile. Dad's journey here isn't over. He starts PT tomorrow. We know he is in good hands and highly recommend this hospital to anyone seeking excellent medical care.
