DukeRegional @DukeHealth cleanliness is not what it should be. Pictures from ER room and cafeteria. I am appalled. Guess your reputation is getting a little dirty

Still a great hospital. I was born here! I had a very good experience with the entire staff during my myomectomy procedure. The nurses and doctors were extremely kind and accomodating. My only suggestion would be to renovate the hospital so that the outside reflects the awesome service you receive inside.

She's got one of these down... ;)

We could not have been happier with our experience in labor and delivery. Despite a long and painful personal experience, bringing my daughter into the world, the team who helped us included nurses Carolyn, Bridget and Debbie, Dr. Bird, Dr. Heath, Dr. Jarvis (all labor/delivery), Kelsey, Danielle, Holland, Brittany, Kristy, and Clare (all postpartum recovery nurses). They took very good care of us and prioritized both the health and wellness of mom and baby along with our birth plan, really respecting our wishes and giving us time to make informed decisions in the moment. Overall, from start to finish everyone was absolutely wonderful and we're so grateful!

this is the shot they forced in my arm before dragging me away no explanation to what it is nor was i given a bandaid

Took forever and a day but when I was finally treated the PA did a great job with getting me fluids and diagnosed.

I requested police assistance three separate times in an effort to stop the ongoing harm. I was forced into an avoidable medical episode because security objected to my lawful accommodation: working my service dog off‑leash so she could safely and effectively perform the medical tasks she is trained to do. My dog is fully qualified and consistently demonstrates stable, professional behavior in all environments; this is documented on my YouTube channel at youtube.com/@biblicaldogs Security also informed me of new restrictions on what items could enter the building. My everyday tools -- a pocket knife and Halt 2 -- were taken from me. I asked that these items be held so I could retrieve them after my appointment, because with my brain injury I did not have the cognitive bandwidth to return to my car and navigate back to the neurology building. That request was denied, and I permanently lost those tools. Following the incident, I experienced an autonomic dysfunction episode. My cognitive capacity was reduced to the point that I could not fully interpret my service dog's alerts, and I subsequently fell. A service dog team depends on the handler's ability to cooperate with the dog; that ability had been compromised by the earlier misconduct. She assisted me in recovering from the fall as trained, but I was two hours from home, alone, and a dog cannot drive. Despite my efforts to stabilize, my ability to safely drive myself home was impaired. I go to the hospital to improve my functioning, not to have it harmed. Because of the lawlessness and disregard for patient safety demonstrated by security, I filed ADA complaints at both the state and federal levels, notified Senator Tillis's office, the VA and my care has been rerouted to Wakefield.

The radiology nurses were wonderful and funny, too! The procedure was explained and while being in a metal tube for close to an hour is not enjoyable, the staff really eased the process. The only complaint is the parking is hard to come by, we were on the 5th floor of the parking garage. It was mobbed! And, wow, it is a confusing facility. Not only huge, but there are three separate radiology areas and of course, we went to the wrong one. A lot of walking, hard to find a parking spot and overall confusion were the drawbacks. However, regarding the cars received and the help of a few kind strangers, we got to the appropriate location. Side note - gift shop was so cute and a great place to grab a water and a protein bar while you sit in the waiting areas.

Food 3/5 Overall the food is good quality and very well made. The kitchen staff are friendly and always willing to help. There are only a few downsides, the first being that there is no menu for actually ordering your meal. Pro tip: If your food is cold, do NOT try to send it back. There are a variety of delicious milkshakes, the homemade strawberry flavor is the best, 10/10, I recommend! Entertainment 4/5 There is a full program of activities provided for your personal enjoyment. This includes yoga, art, bookclub, walks, and more. The highlight was a dance performance from the staff. Some of them did not appear to be classically trained but it was a free event so I can't complain. Amenities 3/5 There is a laundry room and unfortunately guests are expected to do their own laundry. The only problem being that the dryers do not exactly dry. Upon contacting customer services I was told that new machines would be installed the next day. This was four months ago, please see my review of Lowe's for more details. The bathrooms are good but only open at certain times and staff like to look before you flush. It's weird but they said it was all part of the inclusive all-expenses-paid experience. There are some complimentary meds available to guests. I'd rate the Phos-Nak 7/10 because it's good but not as good as other Phos-Nak I've had. Guest safety is a priority and there were two fire alarms during my stay. Unfortunately the first was my first night at 5am. As I stood outside in the snow, I wondered if it was some kind of weird hazing, "or" I thought, "maybe this is a regular occurrence designed to build character." It was neither, I was just unlucky. Customer Service 5/5 The customer service is excellent. The staff are all so dedicated and hardworking, and were so patient and understanding with my accent barrier *cough* heartburn. To enhance your stay they often organize 'spirit weeks'. I once participated in a 'staff meeting' during which most of us were wearing onesies and someone was dressed in Harry Potter pajama pants. Our attire, coupled with the fact that I had a milkshake in hand made the whole thing surreal. There is one particular staff member who stood out due to her tendency to eat off of others' plates. She once taught me how to insert my own NG tube, and pull it out! Just kidding, that stuff DEFINITELY never happened. Pro tip: If you want any privileges, I recommend poetry as a highly effective tool. In conclusion, I give Veritas 5 stars, 10/10, I highly recommend! It is a great place to recover, to grow, to learn about yourself, and practice stand up comedy routines. In all seriousness, this place helped me make progress that I didn't think I could. Thank you Veritas!

When I arrived in the room, I was promptly greeted by RN Michelle Long. She was caring, compassionate, professional, and incredibly efficient. While I waited to see the physician, she made sure I was comfortable--offering water, providing the Wi-Fi password, and checking in to see if I needed anything else. I was seen by the physician shortly after and treated appropriately for my complaint. The entire visit took about two hours, which is truly impressive for an ER visit. This was an outstanding experience. Thank you so much for what you do, Michelle--keep up the excellent work!

There is almost nothing near, and the spaces are crazy small. I was pushing someone up an enclosed walkway from the hospital to an adjoining parking deck. The incline is ridiculous. If you're at all injured or elderly you're not pushing anyone up this thing. If it were a private hospital, the feds would probably sue them for having this thing. Inside, a disabled senior citizen, Marine, in a wheelchair was in front of me when I was there. As we were coming up to a hallway intersection, some guy who worked there stopped in the entrance of our hallway to the cross hallway, blocking the entrance In other words, we could not go into the next hallway and turn the corner because this guy was in the way. He stopped to talk to a coworker and didn't care we were right there. It took about a second for me to realize what he was doing, but before I could ask him to move, the Marine (Semper Fi) in the wheelchair in front of me did. The dude and his colleague looked at us like we were aliens. Bro... Don't be so rude and disrespectful. Another employee I spoke to, I asked where the blue elevator was. He held up his arms and shrugged with an "I don't know" gesture, then turned away. I mean, you have people here who lost limbs to keep you free. Stop treating them like they're a rock in your shoe. Terrible.

You do have to walk across the indoor bridge to get there unless you valet park. They charge $2 an hour for parking. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Everything is done with an arm bracelet for things such as lab or testing. I had an appointment with neuromuscular department. The physicians and therapists are excellent. They're very thorough and up to date on current medicines and trials. The EMG center is in the same clinic so it's super convenient. Being part of the Duke portal is convenient for Atrium Wake Forest and Cone Health because all testing is visible and they can also see visit notes from the doctors. It makes it possible to see providers from different networks and not having to bring in or sign for your records to be shared. The facility is massive and the color system makes it easy to find your way. There are several labs so you don't have to walk a mile to get to one.
