I was very happy with the attention to detail taken on every phase of construction. MC, the owner, was onsite every single day supervising his crew and subcontractors. He finished the project on time and on budget. He is definitely an expert on coastal area construction of elevated houses and made several prudent recommendations to improve the lot lay, drainage, and final product. Communication throughout the entire project was excellent. Quality of construction is clearly superior to most others. I can honestly, without any reservation, give his company and his subcontractors my highest recommendation. The project had stalled but was moving along at that point so he received the $7,000 he would have gotten at the end of the project (said he needed to pay his daughter's college tuition). Then he never returned to the job site. I was left (final 4 months) to finish the home on my own (dealing with sub contractors, etc; from painting to HVAC). Most of the contractors were leary to do work with Mr. Poole's name attached as he owed most, if not all, money. $10,000 was put in escrow to be used by him to buy items for the home build. Upon request he did not comply with a lawyers letter requesting receipts for purchases made. What did he do with that $10,000? I have a suspicion that he is (whether he meant to be or not) involved in a ponsi scheme of sorts where he takes the money from one client and uses it to pay where ever he is behind in bills and not necessarily on the client's project. Plenty of errors in the "custom home." Buyer beware.

We were really excited to find Kerby Custom Renovations. Their recommendations on line seemed almost too good to be true so we moved ahead with Kerby. Kerby did the renovation of my kitchen and laundry room and added in a pantry. They did an excellent job given that there were no drawings or blueprints for what I wanted. To complicate matters, I really wanted a new space that would be safe for me as I age in place. Kerby managers, staff and sub-contractors worked closely with me to make the kitchen/pantry/laundry of my vision into a reality. Kerby staff were excellent communicators in that they not only spoke up when they had questions but they took the time to listen to what I wanted and envisioned. They were kind and patient and helped me by making suggestions and providing alternatives, some of which I incorporated into my kitchen. The custom work they did was outstanding and the subcontractors they worked with were exceptional too. Sometimes it took longer to get the next set of workers in to continue work which extended the length of our rehab but all in all, it was totally worth the wait because of the quality of their work. Their integrity showed through with each step of the rehab process. I was also impressed with their after service care. I had 3 small items that needed to be taken care of after my final payment to Kerby. They followed up and completed all 3 items in a timely fashion.
