I have been here a few times and ordered an array of different items. I do like the selections although there is nothing special about the items offered. However, this review is solely on the fact that I have been over charged for things that wasn't ordered. I almost never look at my receipt and just noticed after several days later that I was charged for 2 almond croissants when I only purchased and received one. This is not the first time this has occurred and it will be the reason I will not be coming back. I came in a little after 11:30 am on Sunday, October 27th. It was very busy and the line was ridiculously long. After about 7-10 minutes later, I was call forward and the woman (Ariana) asked me what I wanted I told her I will be getting a bunch of different items but I will have one almond croissants, she ignores me and then rings up the people in front of me. Why call me if you aren't ready to take my order, I guess we will never know. Then the customers in front of me had a gift card and they was not enough funds to cover the total so they needed to pay $11 plus more. This took a few minutes and all the while I'm still standing there while people behind me were getting their orders and leaving. I was then attended to where she confirmed the one croissant and I order a few other baked goods, sandwiches mini pasty box. I paid and was told to wait on the side for my order. At this point still confused since there were people were getting their order at the register. I was advised that my sandwich was being "prepared" even though there was in the display case and I was asked if I wanted dit warned up to which I said no. But still I had to wait for my order. Today I'm scanning my receipt and notice I apparently ordered 2 almond croissants. This is truly unbelievable. After spending over 20 minutes and bought almost $50 worth of stuff I was changed for something that I didn't order nor received. Again, this is the 3rd time this has happened, why are you people robbing your customers? read more

Love this place. It never disappoints! From the mini pastries to the cakes, the sandwiches and the lattes, everything is just delicious! The ambiance is nice and the service is amazing. Excelente! What a cute, bright, airy, well decorated and chic spot to eat cake, catch up with friends, grab an empanada to go, or enjoy an iced vanilla latte! Let me just say this isn't an understatement that their Iced Vanilla Latte (I asked for a lil less sweet) is one of the (if not the) BEST iced vanilla lattes I've had! It wasn't too sweet, just the right amount of vanilla flavor, and strong enough. Absolutely Yum. The beef empanada (less than $3) was also really good, warmed and beef is seasoned well. Their empanadas seem to be pretty good. It's on the smaller side so make sure to order more than one if you're on the hungry side! Lastly, I had a chocolate dipped pastry (didn't get the name), but that was similar to a chocolate croissant but slightly denser and flakier, but instead of chocolate inside it was filled with a delicious caramel-y Dulce de Leche! See the pic for what that looks like. Sooo delish. I also liked how the bit of chocolate dipped side complemented well with the dulce de leche. I think this place has officially converted me to be a fan of Latin American inspired and influenced pastries...I hope there are more places like this but for now this is a great bakery addition to this area. Ontop of that the service is friendly and although they were busy they were patient in letting me pick which pastry I wanted (there are so many and all of them look pretty good). Plus the pricing! Everything I got totaled up to be $8.50. Latte + mini empanada + pastry = Wha? Such a good deal in the inflationary environment we are currently in. The items are fairly good although in my opinion the quality is similar to other bakeries. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here. Tried a few empanadas. Price was reasonable at $2 each. Pastry was nice. I wasn't the biggest fan of the seasoning they used with the chicken and beef though. Also tried the tres leches cake. I didn't like this very much. The texture was quite crumbly which was just odd. And they added a lot of peach... This really dominates the flavor and was just unnecessary I felt. Metered street parking. read more

This was my first time here and probably my new favorite bakery / cafe in the area! It's very spacious and the staff here are great. Very clean bakery as they are constantly bussing tables and cleaning them once people get up which I really enjoyed. There are many different menu and bakery items to choose from. I wanted everything!! This time I tried the cheese empanada, bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, and the croissant. Everything was absolutely amazing!! I will be back to try the others. The girlfriend wanted to come here for breakfast this morning then walk around a bit before heading into Newark. We had the Spinach empanada, the western omelet and the broccoli quiche. I thought the empanada and broccoli quiche were pretty great and the omelet was okay. The empanada was flavorful without being too doughy while the quiche was balanced of broccoli & cheese. I could feel the heavy texture. Tres Leches was a disappointment for us, since we love heavily soaked sponge with "condensed" milk. This was too light. Not too sweet. First things first, I've been a customer here for a couple years and I absolutely love everything. The pastries are amazing! One of the best bakeries in NJ. However, I went in today and had a really bad experience with the service. First of all the place wasn't so busy, but a lot of order takers were there. As usual I just came up to the display of pastries and told the lady what I wanted. Instead of listening and me showing her what I wanted she asked me "what size box do you want?" I was confused as they've never asked me that before so I was like "idk but I can point to you what I want"... then she told me to order at the cash register. Never do I or any other customers do that. When it comes to bakeries, you have to order at the pastry display to point to the order taker to show them what you want. The lady became irate and so did I at that point. I had told her what I wanted too and she completely forgot it, luckily I wasn't charged for it. Other of the ladies taking the orders also looked baffled at this situation. So management, take these points of advice: 1. Don't ask "what box size"... that's for you to figure out. 2. If the customer doesn't know the name of the pastries, don't tell the customer to order at the register away from the pastry display. It was a frustrating experience. I love your pastries, but you need to improve customer service. read more

This place is super cute! I love the feel when you enter it is big with plenty of seating and people seem to move quickly so you do not have to wait for a long time. My favorite was definitely the fresh juices, i had the mint lemonade which was more on the tart side which i love! The orange juice is super fresh and light. I had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant. It was good but i added avocado which i would skip on, everything on the sandwich was already perfect. My sister had a bowl with eggs potatoes, and peppers and onions, the flavor was good but she wished there was more bacon and peppers because it was a lot potatoes. read more

I had called Balthazar to order sweet Palmier Cookies. For a long while they had taken them off their menu and then put them on again and now they are off the woman at Balthazar was very rude on the phone, mocking the way I pronounced Palmier. I remembered a friend telling me about Dulce de Leche Bakery in Englewood. What a wonderful experience everyone behind the counter was so sweet and happy to explain what everything was. Their Palmiers were absolutely delicious as were the Dulce de leche cookies. I'm so over Balthazar with their ham and cheese croissants sitting out all day. Ordered ham/cheese, beef and chicken empanadas. Flaky with a lot of filling, a little salty but quite delicious. Got a few pastries, dulce du leche donut was so delicious. Not too much filling, sweet enough and doughy soft donut. Tooooo perfect. Chocolate croissant is amazing, light fluffy and just perfect. The Nutella churro is delicious and a must try. Also got 2 other baked goods, not sure what they were but delicious. Coffee was fresh and hot. Definitely recommend, fresh, delicious and friendly service. I have been to the other locations and love them so wanted to see what this one was about. When I arrived I parked nearby on the street. I walked in and it was very clean and big. I was a little bummed because I didn't see certain drinks the other spots had such as snapple. I walked up to the counter and ordered some breakfast sandwiches for others and for myself a slice a cake and empanadas for later. The cashier was training someone else and they both were nice. They sell individual slices of cake which makes them easier to try. I've sat a few times for lunch, they have a good ABLT and my son lovessss the pastelitos. Very nicely decorated and clean. It gets veryyyyy packed on the weekends, I suggest going during the week for sure, if possible. Service is really good, all the girls that have helped me have been sweet. No complains at all!!!
