Bitcoin Billionaire Birthday Cake!!! I found this spot when searching on Yelp for specialty cakes and the 5 star rating doesn't lie... simply AMAZING! I'm not a big cake kinda guy, but Kris' cake was on a new level that I've never had before. The taste was decadent and heavenly so indulging in this beautifully constructed multi-layered Bitcoin cake made me feel like a Bitcoin Billionaire. Needless to say, I had a humungous slice. All the coins that were part of the cake were edible as well which added to the greatness. The topper, obviously, was not edible. ON A SIDE NOTE, there is some freshly baked cookies and pastries for sale daily. I have a weakness for chocolatey chippy cookies and this cookie has one of the better ones I've ever had. It had "hang time"... this is how you can tell a cookie's freshness and consistency. COOKIE TIP of the century: My "hang time" rule is when you pick up a cookie at a parallel level to the table and it starts to droop to where it breaks off. This shows when it's made and how well it's made. When a cookie does not break off when suspended in air then you can tell if too much flour is used, over cooked, and if it has cooled off from being out too long. Overall, the owner Kris was pleasant to work with and very easily accessible. The communication was simple and texting works best since sending her pics would be ideal to construct a cake to your liking. As a resident of Teaneck, I've always passed by this shop on my way to UPS. The store front looks appealing and their baked goods looked beautifully made. I am not sure why it took so long for us to visit, but we finally did after checking out some reviews. The empanadas and tres leches cakes we're highly recommended. Their empanadas seems to sell out rather quickly. My hubby stopped by today and their mushrooms empanadas were all sold out around 1pm. Maybe we'll get lucky when we visit for the third time (they were closed on a Monday when we attempted to stop by a few weeks ago.) We picked up a tres leches cake today since it was recommended by other reviewers and it was indeed delicious. It's not overwhelmingly sweet. I wished it was soaked with more milk- it was slightly dry, but the cake was very fresh! I'd definitely buy this again for $4. The raspberry oats bar is probably the healthiest baked goodie that they offer...it tastes like a fresh granola bar with an extra burst of raspberry flavor! I had the pleasure of getting a cake for my sister's 30th birthday. I came across Kris' website by chance and I am so glad I did. I sent her a design and she said sure not a problem, I can do that! I wish the pictures did this cake more justice because it was sooooo pretty and shimmery. We did yellow cake with custard and strawberry preserves. It was fantastic! Cake was super moist and the buttercream was so smooth and not overly sugary like some can be. We were all raving about the cake all night. It's rare to have a cake that's super nice and tastes just as good. Kris did an amazing job! Her customer service is top tier. Was on the block today running an errand and decided to pop into Krisota's. Apparently they've been open since July of this year and don't keep many goods in the store due to our current situation. (Totally get it!) They specialize in cakes and according to the young lady at the counter, they can produce fresh cakes in about a day or two which I think is amazing! Most places I know need at least 8-10 days! They offer caffeinated beverages, empanadas ( a bit odd I think) but why not? They also had cupcakes in stock. I decided to Purchase the highly recommended peanut butter and jelly cupcake. I took it to work and shared with colleagues. it was DELISH! I mean DELISH!! You would think -hmm a cupcake? With jelly, peanut butter? Well, surprisingly it was hands down yummy!!!! My colleagues devoured it! It was perfectly sweet, moist , topped with a fantastic frosting and the right amount of jelly in the center. I wish this business the best of luck! I know Ill be using them for sure!
