The OGs are still around, such as Walmart, ABC, Ulta, Ross, Dunkin, etc. There is now a new entrance from Rte 50 to Arcola Blvd, also leading up to a new neighborhood that recently opened up, in addition to the current entrance from Loudoun County Parkway. But when I pulled in here, I wasn't mad. Visiting a mall early in the morning is weird. It is mostly deserted. No stores open. Almost completely void of people except those in here doing their jobs. Kind of gives you the 'Dawn of the Dead' vibe, like you are one of the only survivors left in the world. Odd to say, but almost peaceful. This mall seems to be doing fairly well. I did not see many vacancies. Which is great, and almost always the case in this area. This mall feels vast. The layout feels like you need to know exactly what you are getting in here, or set aside time to allow you to freely wander in here. My stop, to use the facilities, took a bit longer than I expected. I have never been here before, and this was not a good thing. I ended up parking in what I thought was the middle of the mall, however, not knowing where the restrooms were, I ended up walking for a while. What was interesting was when I did finally find the restrooms, if I would have used one of the other entrances nearby, it would have been a much quicker stop. But I wouldn't have had the zombie vibe.

The only reason we visit is to walk the empty mall after a large meal at the Cheesecake Factory. My most recent disappointment is the closure sign at the Starbucks. Sometimes I stop in during the holidays to purchase from the See's Candy pop up. There's a new entertainment center that had laser tag, bowling and other games. Today I went to harris teeter twice, I returned because I'd forgotten to get certain items. While…read moreat the self check out I asked the attendant about using a $10 coupon which required a purchase of $75. I wanted to add the two purchases together since they were with in a hours time. I was denied because he stated that an etched in stone store policy required the $75 had to be within a single purchase ticket. I spoke with the manager who confirmed this policy and I defended my situation by stating that I'd been this before over the years. I think this is rude and for some peon junior big boy manager to impose this arbitrary decision on the customers who are to be catered to is a mistake and should be corrected down through the pecking order down to these clowns.

Although during peak Wegmans times getting in and out of here can be a bit tricky. Also depending on which direction your coming from (I.e. From Church Rd) it can be a bit of a game of car dodge ball. I do hope they do something about that because with the traffic merging from Route 28 it can be down right dangerous. There is a huge PUBLIC SAFETY issue in the parking lot in the front of the Giant food store…read more Inconsiderate people park there as they wait for their passengers to come out of the store. They park in front where the loading zone is, where customers cross the lot to their cars and in the bus route. I watch this daily as I frequent the Village Center often. The Giant attendants ask the offenders to move on and sometimes they are successful. There is even a sign detailing that this is not a parking zone. Here are a few suggestions: 1. The attendants need to buzz Giant management ASAP when this happens to prevent the public safety issue, 2. The owner of the village center could paint the area with bold lines indicating a cross walk and loading zone, 3. Prevent customers from crossing in front of cars opening up a designated cross areas on either side of the loading zone. 4. Post a sign with consequences - like a FINE for violation due to public safety concerns. This is a SERIOUS issue. Anyone else concerned about this?? One of the better TJ Max's is here, and they have a Baja Fresh. You can catch a movie at the theater. Bed Bath and Beyond, will probably add the word "Gone," shortly due to a lot of issues. Also there's a Safeway, T Mobile, cleaners, bank, and a couple other places to shop. It's close to route 50 and Fair Oaks mall.

You enter at the rear of the theater, and the seating-- which are all reservable fully-reclining seats-- slopes downward. The handicapped seats are in the rear, near the door. These theaters have a large amount of seats, and the rows are far enough apart to allow you to easily cross in front of a fully reclined person without any problem. I haven't had any trouble seeing the screen no matter where I sat, and I think the seats at the front are better than in stadium seating.
