You ride a bus up the north shore of Lake Superior and skate back to Duluth. This event is run very well (water stops and support) . The view of the lake is second to none. They close the road to Duluth so you have the to yourself. The race is on rain or shine. If you are thinking of doing it Go For It. After the race, downtown bars are packed with many of the skaters. You might want to skate more than once in two years. See picture of foot for consequences.

The staff was friendly and kept everyone informed of the current schedule of the big ships coming and going. They made announcements outside too when one of the ships was preparing to leave. Watching one of these big ships pass under the lift bridge is quite the sight. Definitely worth seeing if you are lucky enough to be here at that time. Parking nearby is pricey since they minimum is three hours for $8.

Among a few other completely ridiculous mishaps in which the decc was responsible for the day of the wedding as well as during the wedding pertaining to prime rib that was completely uncooked... the worst of it all is that unknown to the bride and groom, a family member safely placed all gifts under the gift table... resulting in every gift being left behind after the wedding reception. The decc staff has placed blame on the bride and groom as well as the rest of the family/guests. They have not taken accountability at all whatsoever, which is very concerning being there is clearly a very dishonest thief working for them. The decc has completely ignored and disregarded all contact from the bride after the initial conversation where they proceeded to place blame elsewhere, extremely unprofessional. This place is completely ridiculous and I would not recommend for any reason. Will be sharing this experience with as many people as we can reach in hopes of saving others from having a horrible experience.

DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS Our group attended this attraction…read morethis past weekend. The attraction's Facebook page boasts its family-friendly orientation, but it is anything but! The scarers will touch you and your children. The attraction did NOT notify guests of the touching. Nowhere at the attraction, on its Facebook page, in its waiver, etc is there an explicit notification of touching. Once again, the scarers will touch you and your children. There is no system in place protecting your children or other guests. If anyone, including children, were touched inappropriately, the attraction lacks protective policies for such a situation. Also, there was a portion of the haunt where you must crawl to get through. Thankfully, one actor was able to accommodate a friend's handicap. However, once again, there was no notification of this requirement.
