Food was expensive like most places-pretzel with cheese 5.50, nachos 5.50, Gatorade 4.00. Thankfully had exactly $15 left over after paying $5 for parking. The seats are pretty comfortable and not a lot of places for knees which could have been better and I'm short-tall people beware-not likely going to be awesome-probably worse than an airplane.

It was a really good event space with a strong Wi-Fi and cell signal inside and good power to connect up to. Lots of parking in multiple directions around the arena and a good event center located right in Duluth across from superior Wisconsin with easy access from the twin cities for people flying in.

Zeitgeist is an expert at inserting the "non" in nonprofit. It is a nonprofit theatre and…read morerestaurant. First off we waited 10 minutes while the cashier ticketed the couple viewing Apple. What if they had a crowd. We went to see Malcolm's List. It was us and one other pair. They other pair purchase their ticket online. Total attendance for evening showings was 6. The theatre was nice, seats okay, and sound/screen adequate. It is in the basement of a very old building so it smells damp. My husband and I were city dwellers most of our lives so we are no strangers to independent theatre and films, however Zeitgeist takes the prize. The first "preview" was a short on two lakes, Superior and one in Russia, made by teenagers. The actual films under preview were extremely "independent"; ones I'm sure will play in very few markets except major cities with film clubs. We hope Zeitgeist gets enough donations to stay in business and we are able to visit again next summer.

It's not clear what happens when you cross that bridge from Minnesota, but it changes a person. On the winning end of a 10-0 girl's hockey game at 8 A.M., and not really wanting to stick around to see the end of the game, the Dads obviously took to our phones to find the nearest drinking establishment. Strikers was a very short walk from the arena and seemed like a good option. Walk in to find quite a large crowd of regulars bellied up to the bar. It felt like we stepped back in time about 50 years. Just a shining example of the kind of place your old man may have frequented in his younger days. He'd order whiskey after whiskey after whiskey while trying to figure out how to juggle a wife, work, money, and that disappointment of a son you've become. Bloody Marys all around. While not the best one I've had, it was damn tasty and came with a spicy pickled asparagus spear, plenty of olives, and a little kick to it. Pick your chaser. Nothing was on special. Nothing fruity. Nothing fancy. Didn't need it nor want it. Beer, liquor, served in the same glass they used 75 years ago. Bottom line is the 'tender was fantastically nice, as were the patrons. The drinks were cheap and stiffer than you were on Prom night. Atmosphere outstanding. I'm sure there's hundreds and hundreds of other fine examples of your hometown Wisconsin bar like this one, but this one struck me as particularly inspirational. Oh, and we could walk there quickly.
