This is a nice store, pleasant to shop in. Good selection of clothes - practical, durable clothes, mostly. For doing hard work or adventuring, and for resting after doing these things. I stopped in to look at hats as I lost a hat recently riding on the train. The thing about this place - they have really great prices when things are on sale, but in my opinion the regular prices can be high. I have a lot of clothes from here because they - get this - have women's jeans and cargo pants that have deep pockets! And as a bonus, MOST of them don't reveal my backside when I bend down. Though one pair of jeans did so make sure you try things on. Sizing can be inconsistent or strange. Their shirt sleeves are usually not quite long enough for me. Their cargo pants are available in 3 lengths (each 1 inch apart). I wear the medium length. Since I am 5'9", I think average-sized women might have trouble getting the right length in pants (though the shirt sleeves might be good). Also, these knit hats. I love them, I have (had) 4 of them. But 2 of them stretched out so much I had to put some stitches in them. And maybe I should have done that on the other, maybe I wouldn't have lost it on the California Zephyr. read more

I feel like it's been years since I've gone clothes shopping in person and I was looking for something a little more durable and high end than my usual places. Duluth has been on my radar for a while so I decided to finally check it out today - so glad I did! It was exactly what I was looking for. I was able to browse around and try on several things in their large easily assessable dressing rooms. There were plenty of staff around but no one hassled me. They had a nice sale going and plenty of seasonably appropriate items to choose from. I walked away with a couple pairs of work dress pants and some button-down collared shirts for work. I kind of felt like a kid doing "back to school" shopping. :) I feel like my spouse would really like it as well since it's also been ages since he's been clothes shopping. We had a great service experience here. I visited with my sister and her young children, who were naturally a little bored while we browsed. At some point, I turned around and realized the 3 and 5 year old weren't with me anymore. I found them around the corner where a very sweet clerk was kindly showing them how she takes the mannequins apart to dress them (I'm sorry, I wish I remembered your name!). My niece was giggling and holding a mannequin arm - the kids were absolutely tickled. It was so thoughtful of her to make the trip a little special for them while we shopped. She definitely didn't have to! It was a little random act of kindness that made our day. Clothing wise, there are some good finds here! Duluth has a nice variety of casual wear clothing that I've found to be durable even if it's a bit on the pricier side. I recently ordered some lounge pants that needed to be sent to the store. I got an email a few days later and went to pick them up. The clerk was friendly enough retrieving said order. I really enjoyed my shopping trip here. I was super excited to physically touch feel and test the brand I have always been curious about. I loved the idea of all of the products but I want to touch something instead of ordering. Walking in the doors you are greeted by a nice smiling face behind a little table and a large open store. There are plenty of employee's all willing to help and are pretty positive and happy I loved how they were there asking if you need help yet not overly pushy. I finally grabbed myself a pair of stretchy firehose pants. Love the no hassle return policy offered and I was clearly informed about. I have been a fan of the items they sell for a long time. I had a pair of Fire Hose pants that had gotten a hole in a pocket. The no hassle return policy made it so I could ship them back to the websites warehouse so I decided to wait until the Omaha store opened. Easy Peasey exchange policy. You know, I have been looking at those silly Duluth commercials for years, but I never bought anything from them because I don't do mail order sight unseen - too many horror stories for Big Larry to make that proposition viable. But traveling through Omaha (wherever that is...) we picked up the scent of an actual Duluth retail store on the horizon. So, with a song in our heart, we left the beaten path ( US80) and headed to the shop forthwith. I have to say, Big Larry was impressed. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, even looking, Lewis and Clark style, for an odd size. It was great to see the products in person and to play with all the toys. Bought a buncha pants and shorts and the prices were spot on, with the exception of the underwear, which for the price, should have had a Kevlar cup or a secret decoder ring or something. I think the best thing was a chance to fondle the merchandise (don't worry, Larry wore nitrile gloves) and to see the styles directly, which was way better than seeing the stuff in catalog drawings. Sizes were absolutely spot on, so if you are a 38 but hope to squeeze into a 36 to satisfy your skinny ego, you are out of luck, but the style and utility cannot be beat. Avoid during the holiday shopping season. I don't know if it's under-staffing, a management issue, or a training problem, but this place is an utter shit-show for most of December. Beyond what you'd expect for the time of year. The checkout lines are endless (and confusing for a lot of people,) much of the staff is flat-out grouchy, and the online order pick up process is a nightmare. Once upon a time, when I managed a bar, my boss told me I had a preternatural ability for identifying bottlenecks, and boy, does Duluth in December make those senses tingle! It was great to be in a store that carries all the Duluth clothes and products my husband has wanted to try but hates dealing with shipping. The selection was a bit overwhelming at first. However, once we got our bearings, he was content with all the options offered, and the staff was very friendly. There are deals/discounts to be had, but these are mixed in with all their regular products. I recommend taking your time and looking at all your options. I noticed the green polos were discounted but other colors were not. Also, sales staff told us Sundays tend to be busiest for their store. read more

I first came here with the hubby just to check things out. I had heard of this brand, but never tried them. I like to see, feel, and try on the things I buy so I was happy to see them open a brick and mortar store here. We found everyone was super friendly and helpful making sure we knew all the deals that we're going on. They have a refreshment and rest zone in the back corner where you can get coffee or water free. My hubs tried on a few things and found everything very comfy. They are definitely true to size, but cut generously if that makes sense. Their clothes are meant to fit a mans man, not slim fit or narrow cut. I have bought numerous pieces of clothing at the store and everything except one has surpassed my expectations. The one thing that didn't was a pair of seven year socks that I took back and they gave me a replacement pair. I own about 10 pair of the socks and every other pair has been fine. When I took my socks back I only had one left because my wife threw the other one away and they replaced it without question. My husband really likes the clothes here, so that's why I continue to shop here. I wouldn't otherwise. When buying online, don't bother thinking that you'll get it soon if it says it's in stock at your local store, even if you elect to pick it up in the store. Everything gets shipped, so you wait no matter what you choose. When going into the store to either pick up your online items, or purchase, you have to figure out where the line is, otherwise you'll wait behind a register for awhile, only to be told that you've wasted your time. This has happened to me twice. And apparently there was a different line for online orders, and I wasn't in it, when I finally found a line. But I've never seen a sign or employee directing people. Am I the only idiot having problems with this? Maybe so :). The employees are generally nice, some more than others, but okay overall. But either way, I've never had a positive in-store experience because of the checkout confusion every time. read more

I thought Duluth Trading was going to be a great addition to my area. Although I have to travel 30 miles to get to the store in Hoffman Estates I'm not happy with the quality of there products. I'm on my second pair of boots that I purchased. The stitching gave out on both pairs. Got to looking at them and they are from China. No wonder. I've purchased several other items and the same thing. Quality is just terrible. So sorry to say, I'm done with Duluth Trading Co. I have to give 1 star. The employee's are very nice. That's it.
