We started with lovely fresh steamed dim sums then moved onto Hokkien noodles with chicken for mains. All of which were flavourful and fresh. I should also point out that it's very affordable at around $18 per main meal. Would recommend visiting here.

Its size doesn't help either, making it very easy to miss. But while on the outside things, may look mediocre and sub-par, this place is still worthwhile to try, serving up average Thai food at a reasonable price and service with a smile. I tried the coconut prawn cutlets and the golden parcels for entree. The prawns were indeed very coconutty, heavily coated in coconut and crumb batterred and fried. The parcels were shaped like a tied up bag, a sweet minced pork and nut paste inside, which sounds strangely like dessert, but with the pork and pastry, went well as an entree to get the appetite going. For mains, I tried the basil beef and duck red curry. The basil beef (supposed to be a stir fry of beef with basil and veggies) wasn't anything worth remembering (unfortunately the beef had lots of tendons still running though each piece and were therefore chewy). However, the duck red curry was very well cooked, with the duck meat being tender and the curry sauce was just amazing even though leaning a bit to much towards the sweet side (nevertheless, I could probably finish a whole rice cooker's worth of rice with just the sauce!). In fact, sweetness seems to be a common theme through the different types of curries, which may appeal to some. I however, prefer different types of curries to have something to distinguish between the types. Overall, the food was good (minus the beef dish and curry sauce sweetness). The setting is pretty casual and relaxing, especially since the tables are set outside (which can get awkward in bad weather). The servers are nice, friendly and helpful. There are obviously good reasons why this little place is ever so popular with the locals (I have yet to see them quiet) so definitely worthy for a try.

First time I went there, I tried the Chicken Curry Potato Noodle Soup and Cashew Stir Fry with pork, with a thai tea with milk (yes I was hungry AF) and mate, this was beautiful. I actually went back 3 more times in 2 weeks that I stayed at the Goldie, trying different options and the Cashew stir fry was for far my favoruite! The cost: Food here is very affordable considering the portions, quality and service. Hope I can return soon.

And being conveniently located in the heart of Broadbeach, it's always hard to pass up whenever I'm in the area. Like most restaurants in Broadbeach, it has both indoor and outdoor seating, and the setting is casual and relaxed. There's a reasonable selection of typical rice and noodle dishes to choose from the menu as well as a selection of already cooked dishes in the bain marie. But whenever I come here, I typically go for the beef curry soup noodle, which is curry beef taken from their bain marie, mixed with some kind of stock and thrown together with egg noodles and fresh veggies consisting mainly of coriander and bean shoots. The curry is quite delicious and sufficiently spicy (you can ask for hot...or mild or medium depending on your preference) and pretty satisfying quantity wise. And while the beef curry soup noodle is typically all I consume here, based on people I bring with me, the other dishes (such as pad thai) are equally as delicious. If you're looking for a consistent quality thai food, swing by and give this place a try...
