Don't let that bland looking chasiu fool you; it is one of the richest porks I've ate. And it is served cold. But you let it submerged into the broth and it blends so well together. An envelope of flavors, rich fatty pork, and skinny ramen noodles slurped up into a harmonious taste. And the soup is so good to drink by the spoonful. Or by the bowl. I picked up the bowl instead. The basil beef (supposed to be a stir fry of beef with basil and veggies) wasn't anything worth remembering (unfortunately the beef had lots of tendons still running though each piece and were therefore chewy). However, the duck red curry was very well cooked, with the duck meat being tender and the curry sauce was just amazing even though leaning a bit to much towards the sweet side (nevertheless, I could probably finish a whole rice cooker's worth of rice with just the sauce!). In fact, sweetness seems to be a common theme through the different types of curries, which may appeal to some. I however, prefer different types of curries to have something to distinguish between the types. Overall, the food was good (minus the beef dish and curry sauce sweetness). The curry is quite delicious and sufficiently spicy (you can ask for hot...or mild or medium depending on your preference) and pretty satisfying quantity wise. The noodle soups are authentic and delicious, and the serving size more than generous (seriously you can share one bowl between two people). The dumplings are a little expensive, compared to what you'll get in other cities, but for the GC they are delicious and plentiful. You definitely won't go hungry! And try the "Chinese hamburger" for a flavour-filled delight. I've brought my parents here when they came to visit, and they loved it. Seeing as they're massive Chinese food snobs, if they loved it, I'm sure you will too.
