Visited December 15, 2023. About 30min walk from the Lighthouse. Didn't really make it past the first few dunes but might have been a good idea. The sand is very fine (nice). That day wind was blowing from a certain direction and depending on which way you are facing, you could be well exfoliated from the sand. It was lovely to be on top of the dune and just lookout at the other dunes. Water was a bit chilly that time of year but people were definitely still bathing around. Beware: clothing optional. It was interesting that signs were trilingual there (Spanish, English & German). In fact, on this island, English was the preferred language. read more

It is a noce beach. The only downside is the walk. The view is great going from the wntrance by the rou hotel. But if you are with an older person kids, the entrance on meloneras is a little leas walking. read more

Perfect place to go to sunbathe and enjoy the water. The dunes allow you an opportunity to walk across them with only some areas protected. There are quite a few nudist in the dunes but most of the people on the main strip are close to the. Everyone seems to get along. There's also a wonderful gentleman walking up and down the beach offering cold drinks at a reasonable price. If you want a bit of solitude, I'm sure you can find here. read more

Beautiful walk and scenery. You're in for a workout if you're going this way to the beach

A must see spot if you visit Gran Canaria. The sand dunes stretch as far as eye can sea, and really remind you that despite the pleasant micro-climate of the Island, on the worlds map you are currently quite close to Africa. A visit to this site can be as active or lazy as you wish it to be. You can either take a walk through the desert-like bare sandy dunes, choose one to camp under and enjoy the fantastic Playa de Maspalomas or Playa de Ingles which stretches next to them (beware that you might run into a small stretches of nudist areas on those beaches, but if that's not your thing, don't worry, they take up an absolute minority of the space). Or if you wish to do more trekking, there are areas of the natural reserve which are not so bare and have some paths to trek, fauna and flora to observe, etc. Also, if you'd rather have a cute camel-taxi show you around the area, make sure to visit the Camel Safari and enjoy a 30 minute ride (see my separate review for that). read more

When I first got to the Canary Islands this was the place I wanted to go to SO bad! I LOOOVED the dunes! It was the most beautiful place I have ever seen. On top of all of it, this was my favorite beach in Gran Canaria. The waves were so fun to chase and the water was so clean! The sand was perfect and we made many castles :) This place was stunning! It is a must see if you are traveling to Gran Canaria. It is a great time for family fun! We stayed for hours - be sure to take water because its easy to get dehydrated. read more

Dunes. And more dunes. Sands as far as you can see. The span of the dunes is about a mile or so, so you could walk it. Warning this is near the nude beach so you could stumble upon sun bathers in the bushes. Why in the bushes??? To block from the wind and blowing sand. Bring water as you will feel like you're in the dessert!! Also the blowing sand is a little harsh at times. So sunglasses are a must. Fun to explore. Fun to walk. I have stayed in Maspalomas twice and it has something for everyone. There are miles and miles of san dunes, but be careful with the c hildre, as some dunes contain naturists. The weather is tropical al;l year round, and with numerous cafe's and bars you will never run out of things to o. It has it's own funfair to keep the children and grown ups happy with 10 pin bowling as well,and you have to pay a visit to the faro 2 shopping centre and the freindly and tuneful, banana bar, where the staff can not do enough for you. read more

The sand quality is very good. The area of the dunes and "La Charca" a small natural delta of brackish water, is lovely to see you feeling on top of the dune Lovely! read more

You can come there by bus also from other cities. Many years ago I took cheap bus from Bahia to Playa del Ingles and then I found these dunes near the street. I didn't see dunes never before but here yes. Great experience read more
