Behind the beach the (in)famous Dunes rise in majesty, undulating into infinity, challenging the brave to climb and play in their eternally-shifting arcs. At the inner rim of the beach are, at one end, the Pharos lighthouse, and, at the other the stunning Riu Palace Hotel, rising gleaming white from the golden sand like a berserk Imperial wedding cake. Wrapped within the arms of the beach are a selection of the finest restaurants, most exotic and quirky bars and a hedonistic population who can fulfil virtually any desire. Some beaches may be a place to visit for a holiday, but, more importantly, Playa del and Maspalomas have a more wonderful sense... they make you feel like you have finally, finally COME HOME to a home of such perfection you never could have dreamt it existed, and, perhaps, you may find, in the long run, it is impossible to leave.
