As a gym, this place is fine, and if you want to deal with a business that is stuck in the dark…read moreages, by all means, join this gym. Be warned though, their contracts are designed to take as much as they can from you and the management is slow to respond and not helpful. I've had and heard many horror stories from this gym. Most recently, my wife has made several attempts to settle a situation with them which is one that should be resolved within minutes, not weeks. Her brother was a member while he was staying in town and cancelled his membership before he left town. They told him he would have to pay the remaining dues on his contract. Fine, so they gave him an account action form and he paid the remaining dues. However, recently they began charging his credit card again. It turns out, they gave him a form to pay dues until the end of his contract term, but they did not actually cancel the membership. Now, they are hiding behind a technicality that there was no cancellation form signed. (Because a customer would be familiar with the paperwork that this business works with, right?). So they say that they require an additional 30 days notice to cancel so that they can charge an extra month on top of the two months that they already charged. Is it easy to fix? Yes, cancel the membership and return the unauthorized charges. How long does that take? About fifteen minutes. Get with the times Gold's Gym...

I was with my teenage son so it was going to cost $42.... She said it was because it was busy, which I saw one person on the cardio equipment through the window. I feel like I didn't fit their standard for a desirable customer. Not sure what other reason they would have to turn me away. Don't believe the advertising. It is based on the staff's bias of you,

UPDATE: Everything I listed in my review below was the truth…read morefrom my interaction & experience with The Hot Box Yoga. I have all emails & social media screenshots to back me up in case of any legal dispute. I will not be updating or responding to any further attempts by said biz owner to bicker publicly. After I had posted the original review below, biz owner Chris left a public response, in which he made up lies about our interactions, and posted up my private personal info (full name & Instagram handle). In his response, he was deflecting from the real issue (that they made a mistake with the pass expiry date, said they fixed it, but never did). He did NOT address or mention this mistake in his response at all, instead choosing to focus on an earlier denied pass extension request that I had already accepted was denied. He also stated (for all you future customers) that The Hot Box Yoga Sale passes are for people who "cannot afford" to use their studio at regular prices. His abusive & customer privacy-violating response was flagged & has since been removed by Yelp HQ. In all my very little (3 short emails & 2 Instagram comments in total) communication with The Hot Box Yoga, I have only been polite & stated facts, hoping they would fix the pass expiry mistake they had made. I have never requested for any compensation, nor have I ever expected any from them. When the mistake was never fixed despite my attempts to reach them, I left the review simply to let others know about my personal experience dealing with this studio. I'm sure anyone who sees this will have a better idea of their operations & customer service standards after reading this. - Original review below: Used to be a fan of The Hot Box Yoga for a few years now, but this recent incident has showed me how their operations are and how they treat customers. They made a mistake on a Black Friday sale pass, which wound up expiring two days before the advertised date. Both my friend & I had bought this pass. When I reached out to them via email, the owner Sarah claimed to have fixed the issue, but did not actually do so. As a result, we were unable to book classes on the last 2 days. Upon trying to reach them politely again on social media to get the issue fixed for good, they blocked me. (Funny thing was, they were even following & interacting with me before, because I was always posting positive pics & tweets about their classes & events. My social media followers will know this for a fact.) Issue was never resolved, emails sent were ignored. We were unable to use the remaining classes on our class passes. It is obvious that they did not want to fix the mistake, nor did they want this legit customer issue to be known anywhere public. Terribly disappointed and never returning back here again. Fellow yogis, always be sure to check your pass expiry dates - even if they made a mistake with the dates, they will not fix it!

Their online site is easy to use and at the checkout there was an option for first timers. I chose a 4 pm class but plans changed and we needed the 10am class. Unfortunately I couldn't get ahold of anyone on the phone but read walk ins were welcomed so I figured we'd give it a shot. I was right! We were greeted by Sarah and she kindly welcomed us into the 10am class (which we got there with minutes to spare). She assisted us with mat rentals, water, and reassured my partner that though this was her first time, she'll be fine. Sarah is a great instructor, even helping my partner with some poses. We would absolutely get a membership if we lived here or were even staying longer! Very clean and pleasant. She also suggested taking the scenic route back downtown--which we did. Great experience! Thank you

The studio has a great buzz of energy and it's a boutique style setting (hip, trendy, clean with bright orange walls and colourful cycling photos). The smaller class size was particularly helpful with the details of proper Yoga poses. I've taken two yoga classes so far (one with Tianne and one with Alan) and they have both been great. I've done a number of different styles of Yoga over the years and I especially enjoyed the classes at Fit Fx because they are specialized toward athletes. I'm not an elite athlete at the moment but attending the yoga classes has helped to stretch out problem areas and muscles that have been tight for years from different sports. In particular, I have a tendency toward tight shoulders and upper legs and in the two classes at Fit fx, I learned variations on Yoga poses that were wildly more effective than I had learned in other Yoga studios. Everyone was so friendly and inspirational that I may actually get caught up in the energy of the full program of classes and get back into training for an event. It was fun to hear the buzz about upcoming races as people were chatting before and after class. I walked out feeling like I'd just had a sports massage and also a workout. I fully recommend it!

Stu's side kick and beat friend. To whomever it may concern, 2016: Myself along with several other females were sexually assaulted by Stu a personal trainer at Goodlife Fitness Northgate Lougheed. Complaints were made to Simon the Head Manager #timdelage Head Man From Ontario and Dillon who was head of the personal trainers. Who now works at Metrotown Goodlife. "COVER UP" Simon, Tim Delage and Dillon ignored ALL complaints from every woman who filed a complaint. 2 members Carmichael who is one of the females who was assaulted friend and Brent wrote 2 separate letters to the head office in Ontario stating the issues of sexual assaults being ignored by Managers at Northgate Lougheed. Nothing was done and Stu continued to work while the females who were assaulted left Goodlife. Brent was called into the office because of his letter, not Carmichael, and was told Dillon and the personal trainers and manager didn't feel comfortable with Brent continuing his time at Goodlife and Brent's membersship was terminated on the a spot. Goodlife covered up the sexual assaults, Stu still kept his job at Goodlife. The sexual assault complaints continued to be filed on Stu after the letters were wrote in 2016. These sexual assaults were happening prior to 2016 and ignored. This went on for more than 2yrs after complaints were made to Simon and Dillon who was transferred to Metrotown after Stu was finally fired. Stu is now working as a trained at the old Canada Games Pool. How does Dillon still have his job after covering up so many sexual assaults ? WTF Goodlife. 2026 The cleaning girl at Goodlife Fitness Northgate. Comes to work looking like a homeless person. Works at the Penthouse Strip Club. Gets caught stealing from a member. Who is this member you ask, Brent. The one who was welcomed back after getting falsely kicked out for REPORTING an employee SEXUAL ASSAULTING several females. This cleaning girl who works for Goodlife is not her first time getting caught stealing at work. This is a multiple offender thief that steals from staff and members "several" times and still walks around at 7am as happy as can be knowing she's a thief and her staff knowing she's a thief and all is good except for the one she's stolen from. The police were called and went into Goodlife. Act like nothing happened. Zero apologies to staff she stole from or Brent. Now Brent has to see her face if he stays past 7am and if he says anything, which he's going to confront and face the thief the next time he sees her. GOODLIFE: How does Stu, who has several sexual assault complaints against him even to the head office still get to keep his job ? How does Dillon at Metrotown Facility still have a job after covering up so many sexual assaults ? You people are disturbing and disgusting human beings. How does a thief who you employed who's stealing from not only staff but members, police called on her that you protect and didn't fire while you kick out someone for reporting sexual assaults, twice you did Brent wrong without an apology whatsoever. Goodlife itself is criminal with their cover ups. One of your staff who wears a turban and is allowed to carry a "sword" to work at his side and doesn't have a Canadian citizenship tells Brent he's acting immature because of the way he's acting after your staff steals from him. This idiot pulls out his sword and shows it to members. It's a really sharp sword In Canada, if someone is kicked out of your gym for reporting your staff sexual assaulting females and your staff steals from Brent after he's welcomed back and still has to see the thief that stole from him. How else do you expect someone to react? This isn't even close to being over. Ask the blond lady who teaches spin at Northgate Lougheed. She's worked there since before 2016 and said everyone knew about Stu sexually assaulting females for years.
