I have been a patient of Dr. Trump for several years and have always got along well with him. However, I had an experience a few months ago that has left a bad taste in my mouth. I have a small prescription for a controlled substance I take for severe panic attacks. Every month I call the office when I need the prescription refilled, and it is called in to my local pharmacy. However, when I called to have it refilled a few months ago, I was told that everyone that needed a controlled substance refill had to come to the office to pick it up. This was an inconvienience for me of course, since I had to drive 1/2 hour each way and miss work in order to pick the prescription up. When I got to the office, I was told to take a slip of paper to the lab and they would know what to do. In the lab, I was told to give a urine sample. At this point I knew it was a drug test, although they did not let me know what it was I didn't mind too much, since I had nothing to hide. I hate taking drug tests though, because they feel like an invasion of privacy. In order to continue to receive the medication I had been taking for over a year, I had to do this. After I peed for them, I received my prescription and was good to go. Then, approximately a month later, I received a bill for 300 dollars from Labcorp. I was furious. If I had known that I was going to be charged this much, I would have had to just go without my medication. This would have been medically irresponsible since suddenly stopping the medication can cause seizures and, in extreme cases, death. I was given no explanation at all for the drug test. This was a test I did not want nor need. I do know however, that not everyone was subjected to drug tests in order to get controlled substances. Someone I know takes hydrocodone and did not have to pee for her medication. I feel discriminated against, perhaps because I am young. I am not a drug seeking addict, I have never done anything unlawful, and I always take my medicine as prescribed. I have never called to have my medication refilled early, or claimed it was lost or stolen in order. Dunbar Medical Associates has lost a patient because of this ordeal. read more
