Holy City installed a new hvac unit and all new metal duct work January 2025, for almost $22,000…read more During the winter, the unit ran a lot (I thought it was supposed to do that...duh on me). In February 2025, my power bill was $220, which was $80 more than when I had the old unit and duct work that was full of holes. I was told that my power bill would be much better. There were a total of 4 months where bill was significantly higher. Also, the thermostat was doing weird things, and I called them, but it got better on its own. In September, I was switching out summer shoes for winter, when I saw all my leather shoes were covered in mildew and or rotted, as was my leather recliner (in guest room so I don't see it frequently). Cabinets in spare bathroom had mildew, part of walls and another small leather chair that we don't really use. A friend that sells spray foam, told me that hvac is supposed to get rid of moisture. I had a technician come out, and he told me it was caused by water under my house and on the brick. ( I had accidentally left the hose running in that area a week prior). I had a termite inspection about a month earlier where they said there was no moisture. i asked for a second technician, A.C., and he spent about 2 hours at my home, then told me the unit had not been installed properly. The owner came over, looked at stuff and went into a 15 lecture about how customer friendly they are. I asked for compensation, and he called me an extortionist and said my shoes were from the 80's, which is laughable because I love new shoes. He went out to his car to leave, and he accused me of running down the street after him. He was parked on my grass, when I have a perfectly good circular driveway with no cars. I am contemplating small claims court, but what bothers me are the intangibles...I am a 70 yr old arthritic women who had to clean all that mildew. In addition, who knows what the long term affects the moisture has done to my home? Below are some photos, but most things werected cleaned up by then. THEY OFFERED ME NOTHING.

Then recently they came out because it didn't work. They got it to work at that time. A few months later it had the same problem. A guy came out and said it worked. Not. Had to call again and he said he didn't know it had a heat strip. Said he fixed it. He said it was covered by warranty. They said I owed $50. When I called a couple weeks later for the same problem the woman on the phone said they wouldn't service it. Go elsewhere!! James island a/c came out and said it was leaking Freon. He fixed it and done. I can say I would stay away from Holly City! Bad news. Terrible way to run a business.

Hero should rebrand to zero. Requested services for a non- working AC on May 13th. Their response…read moretime according to Yelp is 3 hours. They finally ask me today, June 2nd, if I still need their help and apologized for the delay. Delay? Listen, there are more than one HVAC services available in the low country, and I've used several that responded within an hour of request, and once hired were begging to be used again if I ever needed assistance. Customer service is non-existent here, and if that's indicative of their company, go elsewhere.

After numerous years of solid service and communication, I had an experience with Hero that…read morenecessitated that I find an alternative HVAC company. In brief, a tech diagnosed a system issue, recommended replacement, and a quote was provided ($14-$18k for a new system). I brought in another vendor for a quote and they indicated that I did NOT need a new system at this time and the issue may be related to a leak in the lines (that can't easily be detected). Alternatively, the other vendor suggested a chemical be injected into the lines which acts a sealant. I then contacted Hero professionally asking them to contact me to discuss this alternative and to hear their thoughts around why a new system is the right decision; they did NOT reply back to 2 messages over a 10 day period. After I called and left a voice message, the manager did professionally call and apologize for the lack of responsiveness. Punchline - At a cost of $300, 3 months later, my system is still running flawlessly...there is more life in the system.

I submitted a Yelp query and quickly heard back from Lisa. I explained what I needed and she scheduled an appt to assess and talk estimates. Corey arrived on time and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I needed two intake vents replaced, one was a custom size. And I needed 12 "boots" and grates replaced on the vents. I had tried to do this myself and it was just impossible. Corey explained what was needed and we discussed the price. Jump ahead to the work day. I needed to run some errands so I phoned the office to confirm arrival time. Lisa was quick to find out the answer and let me know. Around 10AM, per plan, Maurice and Marquis arrived. The work required hours of being on site and they were quick to get started. To say replacing the vents was difficult would be an understatement but they got it all done. Their work also involved doing a cleaning on the system. I would highly recommend these guys. From Lisa in the office, to Corey who did the estimate, to the Maurice / Marquis the install team. Just a great job ... all attentive, knowledgeable, and professional.
