It's a favourite of the local school kids at lunchtimes. Also favoured by local dogs: if your mutt is missing, he's likely to be found mucking around in there. Unfortunately, its ponds are from time-to-time home to shopping trolleys. North of the landscaped area is a little wilderness, with a hidden little gazebo and picnic area. Kennedy Part is not a place for sightseeing, but if you fancy some secluded spot, in the middle of the village, this is for you.

Access through a small doorway halfway up Church Road, walk through the park, past the cannons of long sunken ships, the sea-cliff cottages, the tennis courts, and exit by the desolately haunted barracks into Love Lane. It's my favourite walk in Tramore - the whole beach and bay sweep before you. On a windy winter's day you have the best view of the sea-horses and surf stretching all the way to the open sea 3 miles away.

Splashworld has 2 big slides for kids one dark and one light that have twists and turns. It has a small slide into the main pool ideal for young kids. There is a toddlers area aswell with slides and such in a child themed way. there is a small lazy river for kids and adults alike. Every 15 or 30 minutes there is a wave machine turned on which can be enjoyed by all but i wouldnt recommend for toddlers. There are lifeguards on duty at all times including the 2 big slides. There is a sauna(steamroom) in the pool area for adults to relax and a viewing area for the non swimmers. And if your staying in the pebblebeach resort you can get a discount for your trip to splashworld. Splashworld is great entertainment for all the family. We got to see lots and lots of farmyard animals including Stevie and Mags - two little lambs. Also Humphrey a retired camel, a cow and newborn calf, pigs and piglets and birds of all shapes and sizes. The ride on the barrel train was great fun. The restaurant had good quality sandwiches, burgers and snacks which were fresh and tasty. All in all a great day out!!

It is separate from "the Baldy-Man" (Tramore's largest sand-dune) only by a slender stream. This stream feeds and empties the backstrand to Tramore Beach, so the currents are infamous. For this reason it's not recommended as a swimming beach, and unless you fancy doing laps it lends itself only to short walks. It's accessed from the region known as Cloghernagh, down a long narrow road just past the woods (there may or may not be a signpost). As it's an out of the way spot with amazing views, it's a great location for a romantic summer's picnic. Or if you're alone, enjoy a restful day with a good book and a bottle of wine.

A couple of miles outside Tramore is Kilfarrasy Beach. Wonderfully isolated in winter, and never…read moretoo packed in summer. It's a lovely sandy beach for about a mile before curving around a headland into a rock-climbing paradise. It has everything you want from a beach - high cliffs to shelter you from the wind, a small stream, sand for castles, high rocks for climbing, caves for exploring. It also banks steeply, so you don't have to wade for hours before getting down for your dip. It can sometimes tend to have flies in summer, which isn't great. You'll also need to keep an eye out for the tide coming in...it's very quick, and punters with trousers wet up to their knees or even mid-thigh is a pretty common sight.

That doesn't mean that you're sheltered from the sea-winds - you'll notice that a lot of the trees and gorse bushes have that slanted appearance where one side has been stunted by harsh sea winds, giving away the direction of the prevailing south westerlies. The course lay-out and some of the holes have recently been remodelled. Juniors are encouraged to play, but during restricted times. The restaurant fare is typical - predictable and solid. The clubhouse has some great views over the course from here.
