This is a Dunkin Donuts Express. You literally build your own coffee. I highly do not recommend.

I stopped in here for lunch on my way to Houston. I'd never been here before, so I ordered…read moresomething safe and got the chicken parmigiana. The tea was fresh. The rolls were as well. I thought they were my favorite part of the meal. They were just dense enough to give off a pan pizza taste, and had enough butter, garlic powder and parmesan cheese on top to get Paula Deen's attention. The salad that came with it was decent. Good thick bleu cheese dressing. Could've used some croutons though. The entree itself was good. The chicken wasn't crazy crispy, but by the time you soak fried chicken in marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese and bake it, you will lose crispness by nature, and that's with any restaurant. The meat wasn't dry, I will say that. Pasta that came with it was good as well. Price seems a little high though, and is my main criticism of this restaurant. $4.25 for a glass of unsweetened tea, and $17.64 for chicken parmesan. I did get the dinner portion, so I can't fault them too highly on that. That being said, the portion size was generous, the staff were friendly, and the ambiance of the restaurant was comfortable. All in all, Joe's is pretty good, and I wouldn't mind coming again.

I definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in the Waller/Hempstead area. The service…read moreis phenomenal and the food is fantastic. It's a very relaxing environment as well. We'll be back.

A few years back, I happened to have a coffee at a McDonald's in Hempstead. And it was delicious…read more And I was scratching my head, wondering "is there something in the Hempstead water that makes the coffee so good?" Or is it the filtration system for the water they use for their soft drinks and other beverages? I was later to learn that McDonald's has a contract with a very large coffee roaster that tries to do it right and not over roast and to use quality beans. But at the time, back then, I went back with some gallon jugs and filled it up with water from the McDonald's in order to do a taste test in my own home to find out if there was something in the Hempstead water that had the perfect mineral balanced for good coffee. And now, today, I am heading back to the Hempstead McDonald's in order to do a follow up taste test all of these years later. I will probably pick up a black diamond watermelon while I am in Hempstead also Coffee was bad. Burned tasting. They brought me a second cup. Also bad. I fell victim to one of those Tik Tok videos where the person shows that all three sizes of McDonalds Fries are identical. So I tested it today. The engineer in me wanted real data. Here are the piles of fries. Taking one for the Yelp team. My previous comments on Hempstead water and coffee follow: But a few months back I happened to have a drip coffee at the McDonalds in Hempstead and it was really good. I wondered if maybe the minerals content of Hempstead water contributed to that. We all know that coffee flavor can be affected by water mineral content. So, on my road trip yesterday (see previous posting), I stopped off and filled up some bottles from the McDonalds faucet. Today, I ran some coffee using the Hempstead water and the coffee tasted pretty damn good! Is it Hempstead water? Is McDonald's filtering and making their own water for their coffee and soft drink machines? Anyone know? Still empirical. No science to back this up though, that is, to verify the mineral content. This all brings me to the following links which discuss the production of water with a mineral content designed for extracting the desirable components in coffee. If you have an accurate scale you can try making your own gallon of coffee water.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE - THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN…read more If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I found a PARASITE WORM in my fish meal. Yes, you read that right--a live parasite in something I was supposed to eat. This is not just disgusting, it's a MAJOR health violation and a danger to every single person who eats here. I am absolutely appalled and furious. I have called and will continue to call the health department, and I'm going over everyone's head to make sure this place is investigated thoroughly. No one should have to go through this. This isn't just bad service or undercooked food--this is a potential health crisis. If you care about your health, stay FAR away from this place. I'm pursuing this fully until it's handled and SHUT DOWN.
