Krystal Bakery - Cupcakes with the horrible decorating

This would be my 3rd time ordering and all I have to say is never again!!!!! The first time I let…read moreit slide and didn't order again until 2 yrs later and this last order was 2yrs from my second order. Thought I'd give them a try again but I know better now. I contacted the store to order 1.5 dozen cupcakes for my 6yr old birthday party which the order was very simple. Plain vanilla cupcakes with less vanilla buttercream (cause it's for small kids) piped with a round tip and topped with sprinkles. I thought choosing to opt for a bakery over going to shoprite I would've gotten freshly baked cupcakes but these cupcakes were horribly done with both taste and appearance. Firstly by just looking at the cupcakes the piping were all flattened and didn't even look like it was piped, when I got home, I decided to repackage them into individual cupcakes holders for each kid and when I picked them up they were all cold and hard and they were burnt and dark on the edges and bottom. I didn't think anything of it at that point cause the bakery had it stored in the fridge before I picked it up and I had no order choice but on the day of the party which was next day, I took them out the fridge which I had it for a few hrs and people still said that the cupcakes were cold and hard. For Valentines as well I stopped by the shop and bought cookies and they tasted horrible and stale. My 4 & 5 yr old threw them out. The quality and appearance is a no from me and I know now that I will never be ordering from her again.

There has been a change in the types of bread offered by SIPOS Bakery. I went to buy the French and…read moreItalian bread that I usually buy weekly. I found another type of bread that was not completely baked. When I asked the Polish girl there, she told me that Jack had left work and this was what we had available, as this bread was manufactured and not fresh. I refused to buy it and tried to buy hard roll bread, but I found it was also manufactured, meaning it contained a lot of chemicals to keep it in the freezer for as long as possible and then resell it again, which is not a good thing. There was a man next to me who wanted to buy corn muffins, but he found a different type. When he went to ask the short white man what had happened, he told him that the oven was not working and Jack had left work. The bakery owner did not want to repair the oven due to the high prices of spare parts. This is a kind of disregard for people's minds, as it is clear that the management has changed and Jack is no longer there. The evidence for this is the disappearance of many types of bread that Jack used to bake. They are no longer available now, and the current management is looking to sell cheap things at the price of fresh products. Therefore, I advise everyone to go and buy from the ShopRite. The baked goods there are fresh and are made in front of everyone. Goodbye, SIPOS.

My favorite is the plain donut with a hole middle and chocolate icing. The pastries such as the danish are only worth three stars since I prefer the French standard. It's too hard and the flavorful fruit is sweeter than I prefer. The 4 stars are for the simple doughnuts with a hole in the middle. The custom ones are too dry or perhaps old. Examples include the apple cider donut and the one with red and green cake inside, covered in chocolate icing.

The donut is not pictured because once we peeled the wrapper off, it looked like disgusting slop. That was the third item we tried of the three we purchased and I was just angry. My dreams of sweets became a nightmare. We saw the Cookie Monster Rainbow Slice on IG a few months ago. While on Staten Island we decided to stop in and try a few things. The brownie on the top of the cake was extremely low quality. Did they just get cosmic brownie and stick it on top? Honestly, that would have been much better if they had actually done that. The cake was moist, but had a very odd flavor - it tasted like almond extract or almond paste. I don't understand how that belongs in this cake, but I guess someone thought it was good. We usually get our seven layer donuts from Alfonso's and we will continue doing so. This was a serious miss. We were disappointed because everything looks so good on their social media/ website. We will certainly not be returning. I won't be fooled twice by pretty pictures.
