In town this weekend for a wedding in Pittsburgh, I just had to make time for a stop at the…read moreultimate cream stick destination in the Ohio Valley--Gus's Goodies in Weirton. If you know, you know. This iconic bakery has been a staple of the city for generations, and after recently celebrating its 90th anniversary, it's easy to see why people keep coming back. What makes Gus's so special isn't just the famous cream sticks (although they absolutely live up to the hype). It's a family-run business that has become part of the fabric of the community, and there's something special about supporting a local institution that has been serving customers with pride for nearly a century. Beyond the cream sticks, they offer cakes, cookies, pastries, and just about every sweet treat you could hope to find in a hometown bakery. On a previous visit, we did run into a small issue when a few of our cream sticks were missing that signature filling. I gave them a call, and instead of excuses, I was met with genuine kindness and a sincere desire to make it right. On our next visit, they more than delivered, and the experience reminded me why customer service still matters. Gus's Goodies is one of those places I'll always make time for whenever I'm back in Weirton. Thank you for the continued hospitality, wonderful service, and for making the city just a little sweeter with every cream stick. Here's to many more years of carrying on a hometown tradition--and yes, filling those cream sticks (and this Yelp review) with plenty of love.

I…read morewas surprised at how many Valentine's day themed baked goods were still available when we showed up. We bought some sugar cookies, chocolate chip, and a peanut butter. The muffin was for his grandmother, but it was the last blueberry on the shelf and it looked good. The cookies were fantastic. I personally had the peanut butter with a little dollop of chocolate in the middle. It had a slight chew and lots of peanut butter flavor. I thought the prices were a little high for the cakes, but maybe they're amazing! The customer-facing area of the business is on the smaller side. It would definitely feel crowded with 10 people in there. They have racks spread throughout so you can shop each corner without being forced to wait at the counter for everything. They do have a good sized paved parking lot available right out front.

It is the closest Tims to where I live in the Pittsburgh area, so despite the issues this location…read morehas, it is still better than not having a Tims at all. First, the store and grounds are pretty run down. The parking lot and the sign both need attention and the landscaping is not well maintained. The store consistently seems to be out of certain things regardless of what time of day you are there. The employees are semi apologetic, but sometimes they say things like "we almost never have enough bagels". That shows this is likely a management issue not properly supplying the restaurant. The often get orders wrong. Either the wrong items or wrong ingredients. That being said, the coffee does seem to actually be made fresh regularly and the ice cap machine seems to always be working. If you need a coffee or quick snack, not a bad option, but definitely on the lower end of quality for a Tims.

The employee was friendly and prompt with me. By the time I reached the pick up window, my order was ready to be handed out to me. Everything ordered was present and correct. The iced coffee with hazelnut syrup was delicious and my bf loved the caramel iced cap. It came with a cute little dollop of whipped cream on top. The easter donuts were cute and fun. I appreciated the option for something seasonal. The donuts, including the 4 timbits, were all fresh and tasty. I'm sure I'll place another mobile order for this location again in the near future.

I can't say I've had many donuts from donut shops across my life, but these were the best I've had yet. I got lucky on a Friday morning before Fourth of July and had some luck that they weren't completely sold out. I went in and only wanted a glazed doughnut to see if they were as good as everyone says, but I left with a good variety of donuts, all of which were incredible. Each staff member was incredibly helpful, and helped me pick based on stuff that I like. They could definitely charge a lot more. This place is super cheap. You Will be seeing me in that morning line very soon to try some more

Showing up this early only for people ahead of you walk out with 3-5 boxes at a time. The hurdles aren't worth it. Now, if someone else brought them to an event and had them available - I would not scoff don't get me wrong, I'd have one (maybe two). I just can't get on board with this place philosophically. The mystique and purposeful scarcity of both selection and what leads to closing quite early is at this point trivial. But it appears the scarcity is the appeal. This is (currently) the NFTs of donuts. We got an assorted dozen and my wife and I were both of the mind "these are all average." Though we were aligned and agreed their Old Fashioned donut is the standout. That one is extremely cravable. Frankly, our experience left so much to be desired that we're content not to go back. I'd recommend not wasting your time either.

Local delivery is available for a fee. My husband and I shopped here one time. Employees immediately and kindly served us. Many baked goods in the display cases looked tempting, so I needed time to make up my mind about what I wanted to buy! I chose baklava (4 stars, thick layer of nuts), lady lock (4 stars, not quite as good as my mom-in-law's), apricot sourcream (4 stars), snickerdoodle cookie (4.5 stars), and Very Berry Napoleon (5, nicely fruity and sweet). The total price for these five baked goods was $10.46.
