    French onion soup
    Arlene M.

Upon a suggestion of another business owner I stopped over here to grab lunch. They have a huge parking lot in the back and you need to enter the front through a fenced alley. This place is huge! Not only do they have a full bar but they also have a banquet room for entertaining. I was seated immediately at a booth and my very friendly and helpful waitress guided me through the menu. Still on the mend from my tooth extraction I had to adjust my ordering. Sandwiches normally come with a side of fries but for a slight upcharge you can order the soup of the day in its place. I decided to go with the vegetarian wrap and the cook told me she would heat the vegetables up so that I wouldn't have difficulty eating it. I also went with their French onion soup which comes in a bowl. The soup was good and the crackers crisp. The vegetarian wrap was delicious and soft for me to chew on. Upon inquiry I did learn that they offer both gluten free and vegan options. Let them know if you have any special needs. It was nice to find a nice reasonably priced restaurant and bar in the heart of the small town of Steubenville. Located at the corner of 5th St and Washington St. they have plenty of parking in the back.

Had lunch there, nothing special. At lunch time, we were the only patrons in the restaurant. Service was fast and friendly.

Conveniently Located…read more I stopped into this Irish Pub on a day when it was just pouring rain. It was right across the parking lot from my hotel. I was seated right away and ordered a happy hour glass of red wine. Since it was an Irish Pub, I had to try their Irish Potato Soup. The soup came out just hot enough and was topped with chives, bacon and cheese. It was a very good soup and packed with potato chunks. I ordered the McCarthy's Pub Steak, a 10 oz. strip loin, which was topped with rosemary compound butter, served with a side of heavenly mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was delightful, and although slightly overcooked, it was still a very good steak. The Green beans were fresh and firm and cooked perfectly, and were a great accompaniment to the steak. On their beer menu, I noticed they carried a Canadian beer from Unibroue Brassery in Quebec, which I thought was really cool. Overall, great food, service and happy hour specials and of course Canadian Craft Beer too !

We chose the Harp and Habit for dinner one evening. The restaurant almost was empty, but we asked…read moreto sit at the bar anyway. Our bartender was friendly and prompt. She brought our drinks out and took our food order as soon as we were ready. We ordered the cheesesteak eggrolls, a buffalo chicken cheesesteak, french onion soup, and boneless wings with their hottest sauce. After the order was in for a few mins, the waitress came out to tell us they were out of eggrolls. I was bummed because that's what I was most looking forward to. The other food came out in about 15 mins. My boyfriend loved the french onion soup and he said his boneless wings were actually very spicy. He has a high spicy tolerance and these truly had some heat. My buffalo chicken cheesesteak reminded me of home (Philly) a little. The roll was a bit too soft for my preference, but the chopped chicken and cooper sharp cheese were perfect. The ambiance was of your typical sports bar, but it was decorated well and they had a good bit of TVs available.

While visiting the Pittsburgh area for a wedding, I wanted to sink my teeth into a local favorite…read more Sure, everyone talks about Primanti Bros., but around these parts, Eat'n Park deserves an honorable mention as a hometown legend. We were seated toward the back of the restaurant with a front-row view of the windows as a tremendous storm rolled through the area. It made for a surprisingly cozy atmosphere while we waited for dinner. Eat'n Park is known for its iconic Smiley Cookies and hearty Super Burgers, so there was no question what I was ordering. I went with the Super Burger paired with my favorite soda--a root beer. We were dining with friends and their son, and our son happily demolished some vegetables and mac and cheese. I will say that our food took quite a while to arrive, but with kids at the table, we found creative ways to stay entertained and keep everyone happy. Thankfully, the meal was worth the wait. My burger hit the spot, and the smiles around the table reminded me why local favorites like this continue to thrive. We walked out with Smiley Cookies in hand, memories made with friends, and a desire to return for more cookies and classic comfort food. Let's be honest--it's hard to end a meal on a better note than a burger and a Smiley Cookie. This local legend earns the Yelp Elite stamp of approval from me!
