What is this place? It reminds me of a mashed up Zara, Forever 21, and... Kohl's with their bedding and household goods. The Zara/Forever 21 parts come from the large amount of clothing, shoes and accessories here. The shoes especially reminded me of the fast fashion stores, mass produced shoes that look cute but may not be that comfortable. Some of the stuff seemed really cute though. I didn't recognize any of the brands though. Probably mostly Irish or other European. I had this bright idea that I could fit into a girls skirt (8-9 years old) but alas the skirt didn't have a Zipper so I definitely couldn't fit. read more

Now, I'm not going to gripe about the homewares, grocery or clothing sections of Dunnes Stores in the Stephen's Green Shopping Centre. Dunnes' clothes have come along in leaps and bounds over the last few years, I have never experienced any issues with their fresh produce and as to homewares... well, I've never actually had to furnish anywhere before, but I imagine that Dunnes Stores range of soft furnishings are very good at best, and perfectly adequate at worst. This review concerns none of the above. What this very negative review concerns itself with is the hot deli counter in the Dunnes in Stephen's Green. Dunnes normally do a very good deli counter; the one in George's St is extremely nice. However, my experience at the counter in question left a lot to be desired. The hot counter in this particular Dunnes is often running out of stuff, and while this might be expected occasionally, particularly at 2 or 3 o'clock, it is a minor inconvenience at best. What I am about to recount, however, is a heresy in the art of sandwich making, and should shock you to your very core. I approached the counter and asked for a chicken fillet roll. No problems there. Did they get the ratios wrong, you ask, too much mayonnaise or not enough lettuce? No, I could live with that. When asked what I wanted on my roll, I replied lettuce, tomato and grated cheese. To which I received the reply that they didn't do cheese with chicken fillet rolls. I assumed that there was some token additional charge for this extra filling, as cheese is not one of the staple chicken fillet roll fillings (tomato and lettuce for those of you who are interested); vexatious, but not the end of the world. I hazarded this assumption on my part, only to be told that no, it wasn't a financial thing, they just didn't put cheese on chicken fillet rolls. Full stop. When I asked about this bizarre state of affairs, I was told it was a health and safety thing. Now, I appreciate that this poor girl was only doing her job, and I assure you that I didn't take it out on her, but it is a sad state of affairs when a man can't walk into a shop in this great nation of ours and get cheese on his chicken fillet roll. Is what we've come to? Is this what the men of '98 and '16 died for? I ask this as I have been served cheese on chicken fillet rolls the length and breadth of Dublin, and if Dunnes wanted to institute some sort of cheese legal waiver, I would gladly sign. Needless to say, I shall not be giving the deli counter of Dunnes Stores, Stephen's Green my custom in the future. read more

Who doesn't love a bit of Dunnes? Sure weren't we all reared on their stock? Dunnes in Stephens Green is what you'd call a department store, but it's not really. It has three floors - men's, kids and women's clothing, home ware upstairs, and a foodhall downstairs. It'd have all your basic grocery needs from bread, milk meat etc to booze and a hot food counter. I actually love their home ware section - the stuff id really stylish and very affordable. My apartment is full of their frames, lamps and candle holders. Total bargains! read more

I finally got to visit Dunnes Store after the renovation work. I mainly went to the food market, now it goes by this name I guess, and it looks so much better! It was a fun experience I don't recall ever being this excited while shopping at a supermarket! The decoration was really lovely, from ceiling to floor; edgy spotlights and shiny flooring with modern looking aisles, I really enjoyed my grocery shopping experience at Dunnes! read more

This review is purely for their cafe on the top floor (the rest is grand). We went here one early afternoon, craving breakfast. I only opted for their scrambled eggs with a couple rashers - what could go wrong with that? What, indeed. The eggs came on a plate with almost a ladle-full of egg water with it; just on the edible side of lukewarm. The rashers - just on the rubbery side of chewy. For €5.50, I could've made a better one myself (drunk and possibly blind-folded) - I regret that I didn't. Yech. read more

Good homewares dept here, where I usually find what I'm looking for when I go looking. My last find was a measuring glass, I bought two here and have used as funky drinking glasses as well as measuring. 4 EUR each. I spotted the same for sale in a fancy pants kitchen ware shop for 13 EUR each! The grocery dept is grand, does the job.... Nothing to write home about. The clothes dept is great, lots of styles to suit all tastes and ages. I buy bits if everything here. In the last few years it's been the best for affordable party dresses at Christmas time. The Good ~Great styles, trendy, great prices! ~I have bought undergarments, shoes, clothes here and have no complaints. I have not been disappointed with their clothes. I think it's more like the Target of Ireland, than Walmart, as the quality is pretty good. The Henry street location carries a different variety of clothes than the Dunnes in St Stephen's Green Shopping Center. I found that the Dunnes at St Stephen's Green carries more trendy clothes...the location on Henry St tended to carry more items that were a bit more conservative. read more

Dunnes is my favorite place for groceries, and this location is my favorite overall. Located in the shopping center, the clothing and accessory departments are full. The food is at the bottom level. With all the foods that made me happy, like my jaffa cakes, as well as my favorite inhouse brand of yogurt, the meat and produce at this location were great. I also love the selection of fresh pastas. Dunnes may be a bit pricier than their competitors, but this location is lovely and the products they offer are fantastic. read more

This Dunnes location at St Stephens Green has really grown on me over the past year. The store has at least 3 stories with a full grocery at the bottom, kids and women's clothes at the ground level and men's and housewares on the top floor. I can usually find what I am looking for, at very reasonable prices. They have great things in housewares and good variety. The kids clothes are dramatically less expensive than Marks and Spencers and Mothercare where I historically purchased most of my sons clothes. I am somewhat on the fence in the grocery. I prefer the quality a bit more at Marks and Spencers although Dunnes has much better prices and variety. I do prefer Dunnes to Tesco from a grocery perspective as well. All around Four star review for this Dunnes location. read more

The lower ground floor of this Dunnes is solely dedicated to food and drink. Compared to the pomp and circumstance and henceforth overly priced surroundings of somewhere like Superquinns, Dunnes is outstanding value for money. Bags of vegetables weighing 1 kilo are only €1 and the store regularly features many decent offers of the week as well as an abundance of '2 for 1's. The food store boasts scores of cashier tills, including many self-service tills meaning you are never waiting too long, if any time at all, to be served. I always praise any establishment that makes a point of introducing means that consequently make possible next to no waiting time for their customers. A separate 'Wines and spirits' segment exists with its own entry point from the main shop floor, cash registers and hereafter wide-ranging and eclectic wine and spirit selection. Some good money-off deals recurrently pop up in this section affording you some good booze purchases without having to break the bank. Alcohol is usually very expensive in Dublin and so to find these noteworthy money-off deals within a trusted establishment is very refreshing. You cannot argue with this shop, and having it located in the centre of town means that it is the ultimate stop off point for groceries and alcohol alike. If you are popping to a party in the centre of town then this is the perfect place to stop off to buy the required alcohol supply, and for a nifty price too. read more

The best thing about Dunnes department store is definitely the food hall downstairs. It's pretty small compared to some other grocery places in shopping centres (I'm thinking of the Tesco in Jervis) but it packs all the essentials. There's a section for ready-made food in the front and it stocks all other food groups with a large cheese fridge and a decent vegetable aisle. The reason this place sticks out of my mind is that the prices are so low. If you buy their house brand (St Bernard's), you can save a fortune. Sliced pan costs 44 cents and the store sells a lot of marked down items like large baguettes for 75 cent, 12 salsa drumsticks for 3 Euro and two packets of baby corn for 3 Euro. Bargain! read more

I'm going to Electric Picnic next weekend so I went into Dunnes to get some wellies. €12 - that's fine by me! I also saw black "ugg" boots for €6... so I got two pairs!! Cheap and cheerful. I don't have any ideas about them lasting very long but they'll do me for the moment. You can't walk away from bargains like that. Better value beats them all! That used to be Dunnes' tagline back when Ben was running the ship in the 80s (although I was actually more interested in 'Ann and Barry' books and Bosco back then). Fast forward to the noughties and Dunnes has gone mod, trendy and gourmet. Prices have followed suit so I think Dunnes may have to let Lidle buy out their 80s tagline. That being said, Dunnes' own brand 'St Bernard' is still going strong and some good deals can be had if you stick with the mountain rescue dog. Plus the new posher Dunnes offers 'exotic' produce from 'around the world' such as pine nuts, feta and tofu - unthinkable luxuries for 80s shoppers. The clothes department upstairs in Stephen's Green offers some practical, some fashionable threads at reasonable prices and it's particularly handy for picking up the odd t-shirt, set of PJs or some cotton unmentionables! read more

This place looks great. While walking around looking at house items, I never knew they had a food supermarket downstairs, as the dunns back in the UK sells only clothes. The food displays made me think of the USA shop. I think most of their non heard of brands where too expensive. But it still looked a great place to shop. read more

I left the hot deli of the food department feeling very disrespected and confused this afternoon. I was queuing for ten minutes at their said hot deli for a chicken fillet roll, not good. They were understaffed considering it was lunchtime hours, or rather only one staff was serving anyone, the rest were hovering around seemingly aimlessly rearranging bottles of various sauces. Anyway, once I was finally being served, a different, male member of staff then told me that chicken rolls aren't served at the hot deli, (wtf?) but at the "delicatessen" instead - this was despite the woman JUST IN FRONT of me being served a chicken fillet roll; and there was literally TWO BOWLS full of chicken goujons and fillets directly in front of us at the counter. The rolls in question were walking distance from him as well. All he'd have to have done was reach for them with his hand. So after completely confusing me, he then blankly tells me to queue for a SECOND time at a separate section; expecting me to ask someone else to serve me the chicken fillets that were literally in front of us; on the hot deli counter. Whether or not I queued in the wrong place isn't the point here. It's a lack of good customer service, it's staff that just don't seem to care. The point is, is the staff could have easily just been friendly towards me, the customer, and served me regardless. It would've saved the staff's time, the people queuing behind me's time, and my stress levels for sure. I was made to feel like an annoyance and felt very stupid leaving the queue to randomly join another. No staff indicated where to queue at the "delicatessen" either. Frustrated, I just left in perplexed confusion. Avoid this new hot deli, the staff at George's St. Dunnes deli are far friendlier and efficient. And give a lot more sauce, at that! I know you're trying to be Fallon & Byrne, Dunnes St. Stephen's Centre; but you never will be with such awful service. Soz about that. read more

I love Dunnes and even though I've been back in Canada for three years I still have and wear all of the clothes I bought there. The strongest memory I have is buying a queen sized goose down duvet for thirty euros!! You can't even look at one for that price in Canada! Oh I was so happy! read more

It seems that Dunnes is going through a total make over and the one is St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre definitely looks great, almost like a high end shop...which is my issue. I was so used to the old Dunnes. I have been working in the area for a few years and I drop by Dunnes every second day during my break. While I appreciate the new food department, (now with Seridan cheese-mongers!) I don't feel at easy in the clothes section. It is just too posh for me now and I feel like the place has gone expensive while the quality is still the same. I know this is a weird statement. The homewares department is quite good too -they are doing it up at the moment so I might be all traumatized by the new version in a few weeks as well. read more

This dunnes grocery is on the bottom floor of st stephens green, and is fairly large. It is not too expensive, especially if you buy its own-brand products, and it is convenient to pick up groceries after shopping in stephens green. It has a wide selection of products, the staff are friendly and it is never over busy. A useful place to get some groceries. read more

*Review of the Café / Deli downstairs* First and foremost, I'd like to preface this by saying the manager could not have been more helpful and gave us a full refund (and offered us food on the house, which we declined for the reasons following...) 1. The set-up of this "café" is ridiculous - plastic cutlery, no trays, no plates... it literally is as "on-the-go" as food can get. You'd expect more from a store that literally SELLS plates. 2. The food is atrocious. The person I was with found a HAIR in her food, and mine was soggy and inedible. They don't have any option for a basic sandwich/roll, and their salad bar leaves a lot to be desired. The soup was €4, without so much as a slice of bread, and also came in a cardboard carton... bread was an extra 70c. All told this "meal" cost almost €10 before so much as a water. Again, the hair was the straw that broke the camels back... The customer service from the manager was wonderful and the only redeeming factor, but I will never go back again. read more

Located at the bottom end of St Stephens Green Shopping Centre and covering 3 floors, this Dunnes Stores has a large clothes department (Ground and first floor), home (first floor) and food department (located in the basement). This Dunnes Stores offers all what the others do in range however the shop is very dated. It is questionable if it is has had a facelift since the shopping centre was built in the 1980's and its food department looks dirty and has a horrible grotty atmosphere being located in the basement. If you were to shop in Dunnes a much better one to visit would be Henry Steet. read more

Visited your store in Blanchardstown last night to change a jumper I had purchased in Grafton St as I was entering the store I asked a lady in a grey suit, didn't take her name , if they had this jumper in the store. She took me to the departement and a young girl said they were sold but there is a similar one ,the other girl asked If she could check other stores, told me there was 6 in swords supplied phone no. told me to ring in the morning to reserve one. I returned to the departement and decided to try the similar jumper, it was 15euro dearer but I thought it was worth it as I had bought the skirt to go with it in grafton St. When I returned to the exchange counter the girl comented on the fact i had decided to take this one and supplied a Christmas Bag. So much better than the experience in Grafton St. at 1.30pm on Saturday only 2 young staff at register both serving ,no one upstairs,clothes every where, in dressing room 2 girls with piles of cloths swopping, tried mind on outside, I remarked at register, they told me a member of staff was coming in at 2pm. not good in my opinion, seems blanchardstown have it right.
