We received exceptional service from the ladies at Kilkenny shop. They have a large range of items from handmade candy, luxury crystal, wool blankets and clothing apparel. Ruth was really helpful and set the items we selected aside as we shopped to our hands free. They have change rooms for you to try clothing as needed and an attendant to help you find sizes. What was really unique and cool to see was the Irish gold jewelry pieces and to learn the history about the particular source of the gold. They sell quality products from local and Irish companies. I went in there a few weeks ago with my Dad buying some things for Christmas. Everyone who we dealt with was lovely however, when my Dad asked them where the lift was because we were hungry. We were told by a retail worker who looked ashamed, that they did not have lifts. Only stairs. l then looked at the stairs and it looked like Mount Everest to me. My disability is 90% invisible however I know my limits and I had my wheelchair with me that day. The lovely retail worker offered us free tea or coffee for us to go. However at this point I felt dejected. All I wanted to do was get something to eat with my father. To whoever owns this store an/or the building; DO BETTER! How would you feel if you couldn't see half the shop? Grab a bite to eat and a drink? How would you feel if that was your child? We are only a few days away from 2026 and to see this type of discrimination against disabled people is shocking. I am n mincing my words. It was pure discrimination. Pure and simple. read more

Disgraceful packaging and lack of... Disgraceful packaging and lack of respect for their luxury items. And shockingly rude customer service. Completely ignored until i posted a bad review. Several calls and emails ignored! I spoke with someone called conor before ordering a beautiful piece of genisis and a cashmere blanket who assured me it would be packaged so well i could have it sent direct to the bride and groom recipients! Flimsy damp box genisis broken and cashmere throw thrown in at the bottom of the box squashed up creased and full of pieces of cardboard. It had Zero protection no bag no care bag at all. They have now said in a reply this is normal they do not put any throws in bags or any care bag etc!!! Ridiculous!! The other business have sent me the blanket And assured me it will areive in a care bag. They were not surprised when i told them about the kilkenny shop. Rude emails very unhelpful. I have had to reorder the blanket / throw through another much more professional business in ireland do not buy from kilkenny shop. Imagine if i had it sent to the recipients direct! The throw now looks old after removing the cardboard pieces. I have videos and photos of the box being opened on arrival and have sent to them numerous times. They eventually resent the genisis which has not yet arrived!! read more

One of the best shops to pick up some Irish Design. The Kilkenny store on Nassau Street is a veritable treasure trove of Irish design with everything from soaps to food to clothes and Jewelry. They have a fantastic range of Irish Pottery with something to fit every budget. The shop itself is beautiful and is a perfect show case of the best that Irish craft has to offer. I particularly love the shop at this time of year (Christmas) when the shop really comes alive. They have stunning Christmas decorations, food, beautiful candles, clothes, tableware and my favourite the Newbridge silverware Christmas collection. I treat myself every year on one of these timeless silver decorations for my tree. They have a hilarious range of little signs and gift tags this year with messages like " Santa . . .sound fella so he is" and gift tags that read "Janey Mac you're fierce hard to buy for" Although it's never cheap I really feel here you get such amazing quality that has been handmade by Irish Crafts people and that in my opinion should not come cheap. Kilkenny is a decorative arts and crafts shop that most mothers would love. On Nassau Street, it takes up a large chunk of the block. There is so much stuff inside which is mainly geared towards tourists. You can find anything that Ireland is known for here, such as Waterford crystal, Nicholas Mosse pottery and Irish lace and linen. Although I like the look of their merchandise, I can't help but feel that the prices are inflated. I would suggest shopping around in smaller places before spending all your money here. read more

This is a quality shop showcasing the best of Irish goods and crafts from rising stars. Upstairs is the restaurant and café, a gathering place for locals and those who are visiting. Excellent pastries, friendly staff, and very casual, homey atmosphere. The cakes and scones are house-made fresh daily and so delicious. My daughter, her husband, and I re-connected with my Irish pen pal from childhood as well as my first-grade teacher and her 4th-grade teacher. Such fun! The Kilkenny store on Nassau street across from Trinity college is a great place to browse for gifts for friends and family. They have a great collection of Waterford crystal and offer free engraving with unlimited characters (as long as it fits on the crystal). We picked up a great gift for a wedding we are attending next month. They also have many other Irish themed gifts, jewelry and I believe a women's clothes section in the back. Like Dave D I didn't really see the point of Kilkenny... until I had to buy communal work wedding presents for people and then it is a godsend! It pretty much brings together most of Ireland's luxury brands and you can get all sorts of household things that are above your average ikea price range. I think I've got three sets of wedding gift here... particularly well liked have been the tea cosies! They even gift wrap and do gift receipts. One day I was with one of my colleagues and we were picking out two sets of wedding gifts, they gave us coffee vouchers so that we could chill out while they did the wrapping.... definitely didn't feel like work that afternoon! read more

We came here for shopping. It's wonderful that everything sold here is made in Ireland by artisans. We bought cologne, perfume, a hat, a necklace and some art. I wish we had purchased one of the wool blankets and hand painted bakeware pans but we didn't have space in our luggage or carry ons. Due to the holiday season and location, the store was packed but completely worth it. We were there much longer than we planned so we popped upstairs to the cafe and were quite surprised with how wonderful their food is. I would definitely suggest eating here. My husband and I shared the roast pepper and sausage frittata and the roast with mash and veg. It was delicious and after a long day of walking the perfect late lunch/early dinner. read more

Kilkenny is a great shop for buying your Mom's christmas presents. It is relatively expensive, but they sell mostly Irish products and Irish designer clothes and bags. In a way, Kilkenny is a lot like Avoca but for a slightly older clientele. You can get anything from linen to pottery to clothes and accessories here and most of it is quite beautiful and pretty dear. Most of the things are distinctly Irish-themed though, so it's a good place to shop for presents for non-Irish friends, but you would have to like them alot, because even with pre-christmas discount you'd be hard pushed to find anything under 40 EUR. read more

I've been to Kilkenny a few times now and have always really enjoyed my visits. The shop had a lot of really beautiful pottery, scarves, and gifts. The restaurant is especially grand. Their coconut and berry scone is just brilliant and the best part is- it is vegan! It is one of the only vegan scones I have found and enjoyed in Dublin so a very good option for people trying to limit their dairy and egg intake or for those with allergies. I came in here a few weeks ago to buy an Orla Kiely mug for my Mum. The staff member who served me was helpful and friendly. Once she found out that it was a gift she went above and beyond to wrap it beautifully for me, including ribbons. It's a good store for gifts but due to the high end nature of the products they stock it can be quite expensive. They have a brilliant selection of Orla Kiely homeward and accessories however, which can be hard to source. They also have a good website. read more

First day of our 2 week Ireland tour honeymoon and I needed a ring to be a stand-in for my wedding rings which are priceless family heirlooms so couldn't make the trip. Of course, being in Ireland I assumed I would get a claddagh ring but couldn't find one that I liked enough. We made our way to this shop and I found a beautiful ring by enibas called 'your life' ring. Google it and find her website, it's a beautiful ring. Of course my tiny ring finger made it so only the most expensive rose gold was an option. The sales lady behind the counter was very knowledgeable about the company and their origins and it was all very entrancing- but I wasn't ready yet to give up my pre-planned idea of a claddagh so we left and walked to a claddagh store we had passed on our way to Kilkenny. And of course I couldn't stop thinking about the enibas ring and we walked back and bought it. It's the most beautiful ring and has a great back story of a woman starting a jewelry business from her home and growing to great heights- a path I hope to take in a different craft. The same sales woman helped us on our second visit- only 10 minutes later I'm sure- and was so sweet and lovely. She also set us up with our horizon vat card because it was our first non food purchase in Ireland. The whole store seemed lovely, if a bit pricey but when we're back in Dublin next week before our flight home I plan to go back for some gift shopping to support their business that seems to do great work for smaller businesses from around Ireland so it's worth the additional cost. I went into The Kilkenny Shop on Thursday 31 March to purchase an engagement present for my friend. It is a fabulous shop and I found the perfect gift. I was helped by Joseph Albequerque who not only offered to wrap my gift but gave my friend (who was not buying anything) and I coffee vouchers to go and get a coffee upstairswhile he wrapped the gift. I was so impressed with the service and the shop, I will definitely be going back to Kilkenny to buy any future gifts and will recommend it to everyone else. read more
