Waited outside for 4 hours in line. Then was billed $1,000 for a Covid test. Scamming people out of money during a pandemic.

Covid SCAM to its fullest! Shame on DuPage IC for taking advantage of people during a pandemic. I am a Nurse Practitioner, have been one for over 12 years, and have never seen a medical scam such as this. My insurance was billed for a level 3 or 4 visit for a rapid Covid test? - No vital signs taken, no temperature, no Spo2, no BP, no pulse. - The physician never did any assessment. Did not listen to my lungs or heart. No physical assessment whatsoever. Did not even come within 6 feet of me. He literally talked to me from the door entryway. -My Covid test was "misplaced" and I had to return 9 hours after I was originally tested to be swabbed again. Avoid this scam at all cost. They will be closed down soon enough for INSURANCE FRAUD.

huge needle in my hand because "there were no easy veins in my arms"

Wow. I wish I'd put more stock into these reviews before going into this clinic. I came in with what I suspected was a UTI. Check in process was easy--I registered for a spot online, and showed up on time. I was promptly checked in, and then led to a room. In the room, I explained to the nurse that I thought I had a UTI. I have had one before, many years ago, and thought I recognized the symptoms. My blood pressure was taken, as well as my temp. The nurse then handed me a specimen cup, and told me to go to the restroom. I was not given a sanitary wipe (a crucial step for collecting the sample, otherwise it will be contaminated). I was also not given the right instructions for how to collect a clean sample. The bathroom I was shown to was disgustingly dirty (pee all over the toilet seats), and I had to replace their toilet paper roll for them. They had also run out of soap, so I couldn't wash my hands after I'd collected the sample. The sample was analyzed, and the doctor came in and "confirmed" that I had a UTI. I put "confirmed" in quotations...because this would turn out to be a misdiagnoses. Big Yikes. We'll get to that part in a bit. The doctor then took my heart rate, and pressed down on my kidneys. He determined that I had a severe UTI, and that I needed an intravenous dose of antibiotics on the spot. A nurse then came in, and poked around my arms to look for a vein. Because she "could not feel any" in my arms, she took off her medical gloves and touched me with her bare hands. I'm normally fine with that, but she had incredibly long manicured nails with gunk underneath the nails. Also, considering covid, I felt uncomfortable being touched by her bare hands, since she hadn't sanitized her hands prior to touching me. She wasn't able to find a vein in either of my arms, and instead stuck the huge IV needle in the back of my hand. My hand is very small (I'm 5'2), and the needle was nearly larger than my palm. It was painful, and when she removed the needle after the IV was empty, my hand spurted blood like something out of a horror film. It got on the bed that I was laying on. My hand was bruised for a week. Also, I have previously donated blood before, and none of the nurses had trouble finding my veins in my arms. After the IV was removed, she took the entire IV bag (with the needle that was in my hand STILL ATTACHED TO IT) and put the whole thing in the garbage can. I am not talking about the sanitary disposal that needles are supposed to go into (by the way, the needle was uncapped when she put it into the garbage--a hazard!). She literally took the whole thing and put it in the garbage where you usually throw paper towels. I have attached photos to this review so you can see. I am pretty sure this is malpractice, or at the very least, dangerous and unsanitary. Afterwards, I was prescribed a round of antibiotics--levofloxacin, the strongest antibiotic for this kind of ailment. If you google it online, there is actually a long history of criticism for the drug, and it is considered to be used only as a "last defense" not as a first line of treatment. The doctor said he would call me within two days to tell me my test results. This did not happen. I waited for a call, and never received it. The drug made me feel ill, so I stopped taking it, hoping I could get a confirmation of my condition before I continued with the powerful drug. I called over to the clinic, only to be told that he was not working there that day. I was directed to talk to the doctor on call that day, who told me that my test results were "inconclusive and contaminated". She told me that I could make an appointment to come in and re-test. Fed up, I decided to go to another clinic, where I was tested, and my results came back clear of UTI. If anyone is looking for a great doctor, I recommend Christine Sutton with dupage medical group. She listened to my concerns, and my experience at this clinic, and told me what I had experienced was ridiculous. Overall, going to this clinic was frustrating and even dangerous. I would not recommend it to anyone.

They were able to ease my nerves as it's my first time ever getting these procedures. The team sent me all the instructions I needed prior to the procedure to help me prepare. The only downside to this experience is that they couldn't find my vein for a while, and there was no other option but to give anesthesia through IV. Some facilities have backup options like laughing gas. They ultimately found it, just in time for my procedure. The entire procedure took about an hour, I woke up pretty quickly, and I was also surprised how quickly they were able to get my results. They had images of the findings for me. The only thing that took a couple of days was biopsy. I'd totally come back to this facility in the future, and I'd recommend Dr. Ng and her team to anyone in the area looking for all things gastroenterology related.

Although I had to wait…read morealmost an HOUR for my appointment, even though I was on time, I found out why: he's so patient! He answers every question, he knows everything there is to know about his work, and he's really kind - and even funny. What a great guy! PS - His lone receptionist is frantically busy, and the actual waiting room is packed and stuffy - but if you get an appointment, you can sit in the loggia and it will be a pleasant enough wait.

My reply to Dr. Wilson's reply below which states: "Mr. A's comments vary from misleading to…read morepatently false." A. Please point out ONE segment of my original review which is either 'misleading' or 'false.' Dr. Wilson was quick to suggest comments were misleading or false, but avoided all my points and instead just offered one 'opinion', and his own mis-truths and denials of what happened. (* In his own Yelp response below, Dr. Wilson even admits to "often making people wait.") B. If 'sleep tests' are such a pertinent part of headache study, how come I wasn't universally scheduled another one, or even suggested another one by any of my other half a dozen neurologists? As I stated previously, I was informed that sleep tests are MAINLY administered for patients with SLEEP APNEA OR SLEEP PROBLEMS (not getting enough sleep, fluctuating hours of sleep, erratic sleep, etc) which then may in turn be triggering possible migraines. I had a sleep test thru my very first neurologist at Loyola, and I was never diagnosed with any 'sleep issues'. C. Dr. Wilson became agitated and eventually rude when I as a patient tried to email or call him with my concerns about my regimine, medicines, or just other random issues I was having in between visits. And this was NOT because of me 'being rude or bothering him', per say..I am very respectful, friendly and am very passive. It was probably because Dr. Wilson simply didn't have any answers for me as time went on. Hence why he finally rudely stated to "Find another neurologist." (What professional, kind physician says that to any patient in that tone, aside Dr. House?) Keep in mind, his services were far from free - near $300 a visit if you were paying out of pocket. Aren't doctors supposed to always be 'available' and 'customer friendly' to their PAYING patients??? D. If the fact alone of my Relpax shipment being signed for by his staff, and gone missing out of his office isn't enough of a red flag for this office's overall 'wackiness', I am not sure what is. The consistent 1 to 1.5 hour appointment waits will probably turn you off first, though. Not saying there isn't ever a slight wait at doctors offices, but usually it is manageable - maybe 20 minutes to half hour at MOST. (Dr. Wilson's excuse of 'time with my patient is my primary focus' is him simply bloviating, in my opinion. If that is your true focus, stop 'over-scheduling' patients and thus dis-servicing other patients by making them wait extremely long periods, then?). Dr. Wilson simply schedules TOO many patients for one set day of hours. The more patients you squeeze in, the more $$ one makes. Simple math. Finally, I can supply ALL records of everything involving my experience at this firm, from my 4 visits to all of my tests, contents of each visit, the botched and missing Relpax fiasco, and including Dr. Wilson's EMAILS TO ME. As a paying patient, I have nothing to gain and no reason to lie while writing a review on my medical experiences. Dr. Wilson may be good and probably does indeed help many other individuals, I am just giving my exact experience - no lies, no exaggerations, no agenda, nothing to gain. I simply recommend any prospective patient at least weigh the pros against the cons about this practice before giving him your business, just as you would any other place of business. *Note: Please take one of the other reviews (from somebody in San Francisco?) with a grain of sand, as it almost seems "manufactured". The reviewer hasn't written a review since 2010, and the 6 reviews he does have seem to all be for businesses in 5 different states.
