The gas pump area is super clean and maintained well. Inside is orderly too. I needed to get gas and remembered they offer the famous HoHo cakes. So, after filling up, I ran inside to get the sweet treat for my sister. The Mama P's selection was plentiful but not very diverse. They were all chocolate based except for the animal cracker. It was so cute with pink cake and a pink animal cracker on top. I also chose the chocolate and peanut butter. I wish they had more non-chocolate options such as lemon etc. They were delicious just the same. Once you check in on Yelp, you receive an offer for a free bottle of water. The young girl at the desk was very confused and went to get another person for help. That girl looked at my phone and said, "we don't do that". When I said I think they do she agreed. It seemed like since she wasn't sure how to process the Yelp offer, she just wanted to refuse it. Then I realize it is Kenosha Restaurant Week. More confusion ensued on the price of my HoHo cakes, the only item they offered on Restaurant Week. I love that Lou Perrine's participated in Yelp and Restaurant Week. I just wish the staff is better trained on things like this.

I stop by in the morning for coffee - they have it brewed fresh each morning with really great options- even my favorite iced coffee! They are great about getting new items in and keeping things up to date. You will always be welcomed by smiling faces and they are always willing to help if you can't find something. I see police officers here a lot (it's near the police station) and I always feel safe if I have to come by late at night. BONUS: they have KRINGLE! And the deliver groceries if you need it. AMAZING. (It looks like they have a low rating currently due to old reviews- with new management, everything has changed!)

First off, I have an extensive background in Automotive technology. Anytime I plug in my scan tool to mine or any vehicle, I am VERY careful to get underneath and clearly see the OBD plug. This is to ensure I am inserting it in the proper direction, flush and evenly. Not sure how well they train some of these folks esp. on how important it is to be careful when testing a vehicle. If you struggle to bend over fully or cannot bend over properly due to medical or age related issues, you may want to look for other employment. As I noted above, one should take the time to get a really good visual of the OBD connector and its exact position when plugging the test connector. Failure to do so could potentially result in damage to the OBD port connector I watched as the older Smog tech in question couldn't be bothered to kneel down to get a really good visual of the OBD port when inserting the OBD connector. I clearly felt the tech's carelessness caused the connector to pop out and ultimately caused me to fail my emissions. Prior to my visit I had NO issue with the connector and it was mounted securely. I had my scan tool hooked up the week prior and it was a 100% secure and mounted. When you are not careful and try to push or force something, it is bound to pop loose or in my case the tang on one side of the connector cracked/broke from the OBD connector mount. This was due to blunt force and/or not seating the connector flush when hooking up the data cable. Yes, I was able to fix it at home but this could have all been avoided. Our time is valuable and we do not appreciate driving a half hour only to fail our test because the emission tech couldn't be bothered to go underneath and properly plug in his data cable. Thank you, Lincolnshire Emissions Center. Your tech actually got down, looked under the dash, located the OBD connector and carefully plugged it right in with no issues. They had me in and out in under 5 minutes.
