We have been here many times and love the property. Compared to other commercial springs it is reasonable. When its quiet is is absolute heaven. Staff is friendly, the grounds are beautiful and it can be relaxing. The new bathrooms were nice. But the dressing room was small fornthe amount of guests at the time of our last visit. We went this past weekend and it was very crowded and hard for two of us to find a pool that we wouldn't be shoulder to shoulder with strangers. Empty cups and aluminum alcohol bottles floating in tubs. Kids were picking up cups discarded by adults, filling them with dirt and pouring them into the pools while parents partied. We moved a few times and it wasn't a singular occurrence. Many people mentioned they were overstaying their 2 hour pass because the was no way staff could identify them. I used work at a hostpring so I know how hard it is to enforce, but understand that it causes issues like we were seeing. Hot water was nice, but the overall experience could be better. Just dont expect it to be relaxing. read more

Trimble hot springs has long been updated. Now that it is Durango hot springs I give this place 5 stars! There used to be three pools. Now there are MANY pools, with many different temps. There is a cold plunge which is amazing in the summer. In addition, there is an adult only section. They also now offer snacks and drinks, including alcohol drinks. The adult section is on the hillside which is nice as I appreciate the view. The price is $49 for two hours. A little pricey but I do appreciate all of the upgrades that were made. There is also a spa onsite but I have not had time to try any spa services yet. Definitely recommend this hotsprings! read more

If you are looking to enjoy hot springs and a cold plunge, this is a great spot. We made reservations and booked online, and before booking they clearly show how many spots are available for each time slot. It was $40 per person, and we came during one of the busiest times. I wouldn't try walk in. The website mentions that adults and kids have separate areas. However, there were teenagers in the adult pools, and there did not seem to be any limits on how many people could be in one pool. At one point, there were about 18 people in a single pool, which surprised me. There are 32 pools total, with 16 on the adult side. The hottest pool was 109 degrees and felt amazing. They have fire pits outside if you need to warm up when it is cold. There are dressing rooms and showers inside the bathrooms, but we later realized there are additional changing rooms outside with more space. Lockers are available inside for $5, which is convenient but a bit small if you have a lot of bags. There are also free lockers outside near the outdoor changing rooms, but they are open without doors. Overall, it was a great experience. I think the best time to come would be during the week when it is less crowded, so be mindful of weekends, holidays, and long breaks. The parking lot was fine, just a little tight and crowded. Overall great experience. We were in town for the weekend with our adult daughter and our two small dogs. Since dogs are not permitted, we scheduled my daughter for a long morning soak. Then I switched off with my husband for our soaking times and the other watched the pups. I booked and paid for our times ahead online. Highly recommend doing this. There were lockers available, but we just put our towels in a cubby and carried a small backpack with us from place to place. I dropped them off and they went first and had some nice father daughter time together. I came back and he took over with the pups while I went in for some relaxation time. We tried several of the pools in the adult only area, but ended up in the family area as there was little shade in the adult pools and did not want to burn. It would be nice if there were more sail shades over the adult pools. The gardens are beautiful. The day we were there, the site was part of a local garden tour. Went with my family. I'm on a quest to go to all developed Hot Springs parks in the US. This is one I definitely visit again. We went from 6 to 9 PM. It has a nice friendly vibe. There were lots of young people there. They have alcohol and some food. At night, they had lots of lights like in the trees and along the fence and it was really a pleasant place. They have cold plunge and hot plunge a bunch of different pools and a big swimming pool that's 81°. read more

The ambiance here is definitely top notch: hard to beat mountain views, fire pits, and soaking in some of the most tranquil, warm pools. It's a small fee, but can catch you off guard if you're not expecting it. My four year old daughter and I came here 12/30 @5:30 PM. That's the time I made reservations. Check in was simple. Based on reviews, we brought a back pack with our towels and dry clothing. We sat our back pack on the picnic tables by the bar. Nobody bothered to our belongings and we were able to keep an eye it in almost every spot. They do offer water, so that was nice. My daughter and I hopped into about 9 pools. Her favorite was the main one. We loved it so much we came back the next day 12/31 with my husband. He enjoyed it too! We did really enjoy the visit to these hot springs, well developed and plenty of water features. And variety of pool temperatures. The property is split up in family and adults only side. The lawn splits the 2 sides up. Adult only does not mean clothing optional, it's just no kids so it's more peaceful and quieter. ( I have 3 kids so stayed on family side) they do have a food truck there as well. If I lived close to it I would definitely consider getting an annual membership. read more

Fabulous experience!! Lots of hot spas to choose from with different posted temperatures. The entire place was magical. Beautiful and clean. The showers were a bit weird for a 70+ yr old to manage. They were like portapotties. Up three metal steps and into a tiny little shower with a tiny little sink. Then another thing that was weird was the changing rooms are at the very other end of the place near the front lobby. They had a wonderful drink and eating facility. The pool is amazing. If you are handicapped or have difficulty walking it's graduated with handrails so you can just gently walk into the pool. read more

This was our first time here. Was excited at check in and thought, this must be good! The locker rooms reeked of sewage. Construction going on, on both ends of a small area. Metal work on one side and small equipment on the other. Was so loud! The smell of diesel was terrible. There were a lot of workers walking/standing around. No dry chairs to set things on. Had a great time at the Durango Hot Springs! The facility was very clean and very well maintained. They offer lockers for a fee, but there are plenty of places to put your belongings outside, including cubbies and chairs. The staff was also very friendly! They have a plethora of pools to choose from all with different sizes and temperatures. My favorite part was the cold plunge! I believe it was around 43°!!! This was a great place to go with my family; they even section off an adults only side and a family friendly one. The drinks we had were delicious and decently priced. They had small snacks for sale as well as a food truck. Our party spent two hours here and it was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. In Yelp, it states "walk-ins welcome". I was certainly not welcomed when I walked in without a reservation. One person to sit in the Hot Springs for an hour, and they didn't have room for me. And the girl was a little uppity. She wanted to give me a reservation for the next evening. When you're from out of town, it's a little difficult to make a reservation or to schedule something the night before when you're just passing through. I would not recommend this place even if you have a reservation for the way I was treated and that you lie about walk-ins are welcome. There's plenty more hot springs in Colorado to get to. read more

Way too touristy now I remember when this place was actually great to go to now they are just money hungry POS you are way better off going somewhere else and the fact that every where else in Durango let's kids under 2 get in for free yea think again for this place their snobby corporation charges for a baby who isn't even a year old yet and it's $25 for them too there is no local discount and the pools are packed with chemicals so much for a rejuvenating experience when you are clogging your pores with chemicals. We stopped by on our way home when visiting other hot springs. This is definitely more of a family location. I have mixed feelings about how family-friendly it was. That said, if you're looking for a hot spring to take the family, this is it. And I'm not anti-kids, but there was a lot more silliness and running around than at other spots, which made going to the cold plunge a bit problematic, since it was their hot spot. But it's not the end of the world - know it's very family-friendly. I appreciate that they cap attendance. Also torn on the 2-3 hour limitations, but understand them too. While there's a fabulous kids section, after a long drive to Durango, we were looking for some quiet. It was peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to unwind without a lot of noise or splashing. The pools were all different temps, so it was fun to hop around and find our favorites. The views of the mountains and surrounding landscape were absolutely stunning. It felt like we were tucked away in our own little slice of Colorado paradise. The whole experience was calm, grounding, and incredibly soothing. You could feel the stress melting off your shoulders with every breath of that crisp mountain air. It's the kind of place you leave feeling a little lighter...physically, mentally, and emotionally. I had a relaxing time at the Durango Hot Springs. There are many pools to choose from that are different temperature and they are devised between family friendly and adults only. Plenty of concessions to choose from. The pools are part of a spa and resort experience which is why they have a higher price. I was surprised that they had too many rules that were somewhat enforced. I was even more surprised when eating food at the pools was allowed. It was gross smelling and seeing people eat finger foods next to you. Drinks I would have been fine with. I would recommend visiting the pools for a man made hot spring. read more

I was visiting my friend who had been here before. She had brought towels and robes for us to use. I found it odd that towels were not included in the fee, but I could see the opportunity to upsell customers if they came without bringing a towel and having to buy theirs on site. Besides that, for a Saturday it wasn't too crowded. I think by having reservations they keep the headcount low so the pools are not too crowded. It was fun moving from one pool to the next. The staff was super nice. One of the workers actually gave me his hair tie to put my hair up. Really sweet gesture. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. I went to Pagosa Hot Springs a couple weeks ago they say it's the Disneyland of Hot Springs. I have to say Durango was cleaner/ nicer, and I just liked the feel better. Spectacular! Sunday afternoon of Labor Day Weekend - we totally lucked out and it wasn't crowded. Their pools are all outdoors....they have quite a few. Most are small, so it's intimate. But quite a few are tucked up into the hill so it feels quaint and secluded. Definitely need to make a reservation before coming here. Don't plan on just walking in. We did and the front desk folks gave us grief about not making a reservation. Thankfully, they had a few openings, so they let us buy 2 passes that allows you a 2.5 hour visit. (I have no idea how they police this, but we were ready to leave after 2.5 hours.) The inside bathroom/changing area is small. I recommend using the outdoor changing area which were individual closet-like rooms. But they were individual so you had your own personal-private space for the 5 minutes you need to change. They had lockers to rent to hold your stuff. They also had towels to rent too. (You can bring your own.) I highly recommend you wear flip flops or something on your feet while walking in between pools. The property is invisibly split into a family side and an Adult Only side. The smaller, deeper pools on the hillside of the property are Adults Only. They also offer alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at their outdoor bar. There was a food truck also on-site that served tacos and sandwiches. We tried the tacos and they were excellent! You can bring your own water bottle but that's it. No outside food or drinks. They are building new pools, but the folks we spoke with didn't know when they would be ready. The grounds are well kept and lush. Very Zen-like. We will totally be back again the next time we are in Durango. read more

We really loved this place! I was hesitant on paying the admission price ($40) but now that I've been I would definitely return! Try and go on a weekday, the place gets very crowded on weekends. We went on a Wednesday evening and had most of the springs to ourselves. The property is expanding, so the back half does have some construction at the time of posting this review (august '22), but it's a great hot spring to visit. Lovely views and a large property, this place was fun to explore! They also offer food and alcoholic beverages which you can take with you into the Springs. Really great spa! read more

I've had good experiences at Durango Hot Springs and Spa before, which is why I chose it for something really meaningful. My mom's birthday was coming up just a month after my dad passed away from cancer. She had been his full-time caretaker for five tough years, and this was the first time in a long while she was doing anything for herself. It was also her first birthday in almost 40 years without him. I booked her an 80-minute massage hoping it would be a peaceful, healing experience. We arrived early, just like we were instructed to, and were waiting in the lobby to check in. The receptionist was still on the phone, so we were standing off to the side when the massage therapist came out. She said she had back-to-back appointments and if my mom was okay with it, she'd just take her right then. My mom wasn't in her robe yet, we hadn't signed any paperwork, and the whole thing felt rushed and unwelcoming. My mom looked a little nervous, but said it was fine and followed her in. Her massage was supposed to be 80 minutes starting at 10 a.m. I had a facial scheduled for 11, and my mom was already back in the waiting area, fully dressed and done, right at 11, before my appointment even started. She told me afterwards that it was an uncomfortable experience, and that the massage therapist didn't ask her any questions and it felt very rushed and like she was an inconvenience. It really doesn't seem like she got the full service she was promised. It felt like she was squeezed into a busy schedule, rather than given the care and attention she deserved. The facial I had was wonderful, and that's part of why this whole thing was so disappointing. I've always liked this place, and expected better, especially for how expensive their services are. I've tried reaching out to the spa to talk about what happened, and haven't gotten a call back. I understand that weekends get busy, but this wasn't just any spa day. Sometimes a massage is more than a treat. In this case, it was someone finally taking a breath after years of caregiving and grief. I hope the spa takes this kind of feedback seriously and puts more focus on treating each guest like their time matters. read more

This is a really beautiful place and we always stop here when we are in Durango, but this time we felt like we were at a public pool due to the noise of all the screaming kids. It was horrible! We went at 7 p.m. and there were so many kids running around like little animals with no parent in sight. We decided to go in the evening because we thought there would not be so many kids there but we were in for a rude awakening. Alot of the adults were also very noisy. We were very disappointed and will probably not go here again. It's a shame that the staff does not go around the property to tell people to be quiet and tame those wild kids. Maybe they should not let kids go after 7 p.m. so adults who wan to relax can do so in peace and quiet. read more

Great place to soak while visiting Durango but it can still use some improvements. First the locker rooms are very small. There is only a few stalls for showers and restrooms. They did say there was showers and changing outside but there were no signs to find them. It would also be nice if they had dryers for wet gear so your not packing out your stuff soaking wet. The lockers are also very small so I recommend hauling your own bag around. It was nice that they had an adult only side and family section. But I wish they had additional maps outside of the pools and other building surrounding the premises. The staff also regularly checked the pool temps and made updates to the signs at each pool. I also wish they had more areas to hang our towels. The concession had no food and only had drinks to sell. They say no outside food or drinks but it would be nice if they ensured they had these options at the concession we were told they sold out on food. We ordered a couple of margaritas and beers which were kinda pricy but it was nice to have something cold to drink while soaking. You must also reserve your time slot online which was a pain using a phone. Their mobile website was not very friendly and it took a few of us using various phones to be able to book with all the glitches it had. We had no issues checking in when we arrived but I hope they work to resolve their website issues. read more

This was our most relaxing family experience during our week in Durango. There are several pools and tubs on the family side that very from 65-110 degrees. The scenery is exceptional and we moved throughout all of the pools over a four hour period. They also had reasonably priced alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Please add gluten free options to your food truck so we can stay longer next time (my son has a wheat allergy).
