They tore off our old exterior stairs structure and siding, waterproofed the entire wall, and installed new siding and a stairs structure that is far superior to the old one. Their integrity and work quality are off the charts. The owner, Ahmad Khreshi, did thorough research before starting our well-planned project. I was impressed by his knowledge of current construction techniques and dedication to doing the job right. There were several problems that required Ahmad to think outside of the box, one being how to install siding under our existing power lines conduit which was mounted to the exterior wall at six different points. Several times, Ahmad's crew discovered water damage due to poor work by our developer. Ahmad was extremely flexible in adding repair of that damage into his work plan on top of the bid-upon work. Ahmad was kind and fair, listened to our concerns, answered our questions, kept us in the loop, worked with us on timing, and gave us a couple breaks. His crew was extremely professional and respectful, taking off their shoes when they had to come through the building and isolating interior work areas with plastic sheet dividers. When our project was completed, Ahmad send us the following. I was told that my estimate was prepared and would be sent later that day. I have yet to receive the estimate, but will not ask again, and I won't ever reach out to this contractor again. The rating is 2 stars because they initially showed up for the estimate, but I guess they don't need the work. Thank you finally for an answer. Yes, you did provide an estimate on stair railings and I did go a different way because you could not provide the style railings I wanted. But it was totally unprofessional to go through the motions of providing an estimate with no intention of doing so, and then not telling me that in the beginning, especially after I asked about your interest in the project. Our experience started when Mr Jenkins came to our home to review the project we were about to embark on, walked us through how they work, provided us with a copy of their prices, left a log-in sheet, and said his project manager would arrive the next day to introduce themselves. When I went to pick out tile, the project manager met me at the tile company. (That is another review.....) There were all kinds of issues with the tile company, and instead of weeks, it took MONTHS for us to receive materials. Jenkins's and Co bird-dogged that for me so I didn't have to. As soon as the materials arrived, they started work and stayed on the job until it was done. Turns out the tile company shorted us on floor tile (tile employee who measured our bath apparently flunked basic math).To compound the situation, the tile was imported from Italy and the only place in the country to MAYBE get more was from Fifth Ave, NY. Jenkins's implored the tile company for options, they gave us the floor sample and finally found one remaining tile stashed in their warehouse (WHEW!!). Even through NUMEROUS issues with the tile supplier, Jenkins and Co worked doggedly to get my project done as quickly, and as excellently as possible, even finding an alternate tile supplier for slab after employee at first place neglected to order the vanity slab. I found them here on Yelp and I obtained 3 quotes for the job. I had the quotes reviewed by an independent contractor who told me L&R's quote was what the job should reasonably cost. I called 4 references who all had a similar and very positive experience. Lawrence always communicated with me about schedule which had not been the case with other contractors. They were there working on my job every day, not showing up once or twice a week like some others. Any fluctuation to schedule or budget was discussed and agreed upon by both parties. We had a couple of unexpected plumbing delays but that was due to the original build not being up to the current code. I changed direction on a couple of design decisions and Lawrence was right there with me. The work was exceptional and the end product is amazing. I have had the nightmare contractor experience so was very cautious. This was exactly as the process should be and I plan to have them back in the fall to do more work. All the work they've done has exceeded my expectations. Fernando is very knowledgeable, punctual, friendly, and respectful, and sets realistic expectations about the timeline of each project and what it will entail. As a young woman, I have had many negative experiences with other sexist contractors who assume that I lack enough knowledge in their field (electrical, plumbing, etc.) or that I have no common sense, and so they try to scam me or get away with poor quality work. It has been the opposite with Fernando. He takes the time to patiently and kindly answer every single one of my many questions, and explains things to me as many times as I need him to, always treating me like an equal. I have an old house, built in 1921, and in the decades before I owned it, it went through renovations that were not done well. This has meant that now every serious project in the house must be done carefully to ensure that it remains structurally sound and safe both in the short and long term. I only trust Fernando to do any work in the house at this point, because I regretted every other time I hired someone else. I appreciate so much that he always thinks about how to make the result even better than I asked for, and without me asking, cares enough to use his knowledge to come up with ways to make the best of this house that I love despite its limitations (e.g. building recessed shelves to maximize limited space). His prices are shockingly fair and he gives detailed invoices outlining his projected labor costs.
