We called them again earlier this week to get an estimate on having the remaining trees removed from our backyard. We knew when we moved into our house that they would eventually be a problem. None of them were in very good condition, as they were either hanging over the house, dead, or dying, and it just got to a point where they were becoming too much of a hazard. The Tree Surgeon came out with their crew the same week, and within two days they removed at least 8 trees from our yard at a very reasonable price! I assure you I am thinking them my head as I write this. I imaginee if there is a word limit on these kind of posts I will be very close to finding it by the time I am finished writing this. This service is literally the most unprofessional service I have ever run into my entire 40 plus years on this earth. If someone told me they just started their business two weeks before meeting me, I would believe it. My entire ordeal with them was a living hell. I cant tell you how much stress this business caused me it was insane. This all started last year when I was approached by the city of west peoria to take care of a tree in my yard. I had called several places for quotes. That is where I learned tree service can be very expensive. After being ghosted by the first tree service, I decided to go with this one. Here is the rough outlines of events. Some of the dates could be off as I did not make note of them and should be considered rough estimates. Mid-April: I called the service to request that the job be done on April 30. They informed me that I should have 30% deposit ready. April 30: I called them in the morning to ask if they were still coming. I was informed that they were. However, They did not show up until 1pm or 2pm. Being that I had no idea when they show up I had no idea when to be at the house to greet them. They arrived at the house while I was gone to get the initial payment in the form of a money order as they did not accept any card payment. This annoyed me as I hate dealing with cash or any form of physical payment. I arrived at the house and noted they already started. I went inside my house without bothering them in their work. Two hours go by and I look outside and they simply left mid work with limbs all over the ground. I called them and was informed they left because I did not give them the initial down payment. This starts a thing that will go on through out my interactions with them. They simply never call, text or knock on the door. I got to admit my house is large and it sometimes hard for me to hear the door. They did say they knocked. However, They never called or text. They did not finish the job. I can not stress how bad they are at communicating it is insane! From this point forward they will start showing up completely randomly. One of things annoyed is they kept blocking my garage with their car. Did they call to keep me update on their plans or progress? Not a single time did they call or text. I honestly had no idea what was going on most of the time. May 14: This is just a guess as the 2nd time they came. Like I said it was completely random. They mostly finished the job. The only thing left was to clean up the limbs from my backyard. There was a large pile of limbs. It is helpful to note that I informed them I was waiting on a tax return to have the full payment owed. I informed them they would be paid no later then May 30. Over the next three weeks, I would call them asking when the limbs would be cleaned up. I was always informed that it would be sending over his "crew" today. During that time, I discovered that they cut down a rather large tree or bush without my explicit permission. I was very annoyed by this as they did not even seem a hint of being sorry about the issue. It seemed they viewed it as their problem and not mine. This was an whole ordeal by itself. I was told not to worry "It would grow back" May 30: I called asking when will the remaining limbs will be picked up. I was informed he was waiting for me to pay to finish the job. I was livid! He literally had not told me any of this. The limbs had been sitting in my backyard over 2 weeks. I told him I am not paying him until the job was finished and my destroyed property addressed. June 3 to 5: They told me that they were going to finish the job. I purposefully left my house during this time so I could interact with them as little as possible. I just wanted the job done and afterwards they could pick up the check. June 6: I was informed they wanted me there when they come finish the job. So they could immediately get paid. Literally at no previous point in their working did they require me being home. This again is something they did not communicate. June 07: I did not leave my house all day! I would message them asking them when they were coming and would receive no response. Then at 5pm they messaged me saying that a family emergency came up and they would finish the next day. I was very angry. I literally did nothing for a whole day for them not to show up. June 08: They "finish" the job. I was happy it was over. I did not bring up the dead grass patches in my yard caused by the limbs being there for so long. The entire process was insane!

I just cannot say enough good things about them but will try. After a severe thunderstorm I had one tree broken in half, the top quarter of another broken off and hanging, and multiple large limbs down. It was a mess!! I called different tree services for estimates. One never called back, one was unprofessional and one said they would come out but never did. Then I called Buskirk Tree Service. How I wish I would have called Buskirk first!! The phone was professionally answered by Mindy who took all of my information and began writing a referral. She properly set my expectations and told me that with the storm they were very busy but that Joe Buskirk (the owner) would get in contact with me soon. Joe called me in a very reasonable amount of time and got me a written estimate that was detailed about the work to be done. The estimate was lower than the other estimate I had received. But above and beyond the price Joe called and talked to me about the work and explained in a clear and succinct manner what would be done. He reassured me that their crews are insured and that the work would be done promptly. He instilled confidence in me that Buskirk was the right company to clean up the mess so I happily agreed to the terms. The VERY NEXT MORNING his crew arrived and were thorough professionals! They cut up all the limbs, removed the hanging top quarter of the wounded tree and took down the remaining standing half of the split tree and then removed the stump. They chipped up the wood, cleaned up and were done. ALL IN ONE DAY!!!! And the most remarkable thing is they did not even leave any wood chips or debris behind. I guess they must have run a vacuum cleaner over the grass!! It was like the storm never happened and no limbs ever fell!! It was amazing. The invoice arrived and matched the estimate exactly. I happily paid it in full!! I have some other trees and bushes on my property that need some care. You better believe I am going to hire Buskirk to take care of them as well! He came over in-person and gave us, by far, the most reasonable quote of five from the various companies who came and gave us estimates. While examining our trees, it was obvious that he was knowledgeable about his job. He was friendly and did not rush the estimate, taking time to find out what we needed, answer our questions, offer advice, and create a plan for the scope of the work. On the day of the removal, Brent and his team of nine guys - with a bucket truck, chipper, skid loader, and chainsaws descended upon the job and got right to it. It was immediately apparent they were professionals and impressive to watch how they all worked together like the proverbial well-oiled machine. They worked quickly, in a highly organized and efficient manner. Even if I didn't need a tree removed, I think I would pay money just to watch them in action- it was amazing! They had the tree felled, cut up, chipped, and all cleaned up in a little over an hour. They asked if we wanted firewood from it, cut up a nice selection, and neatly stacked it on the driveway for us. We also had them trim a maple tree in the back yard and we were very pleased with how it came out. Communication from start to finish was timely and professional. We were surprised and extremely grateful that Brent went out of his way to get us worked in as quickly as possible, as we had time constraints and needed the job done asap. We also needed the stump ground and it was done the next day.
