I had to take my 5 year old in for dental surgery. I was very nervous reading all of the negative…read morereviews and knew after our experience that I needed to leave a review. First of all, the place is clean. The staff was all friendly. They explained everything thoroughly and even caught a heart murmur we didn't know he had. Our appointment was at 10:00am. I was to be here by 9:45. Parking and seating were not an issue. I checked in and we waited approx 45 minutes before being called back. They checked vitals and went over everything. I was introduced to the dentist and the anesthesiologist. Then sent us back to the waiting room. At 11:30 he was given his shot (knocked him OUT). They took him for X-rays and in 20 minutes called me back to go over the treatment plan. I consented and they started surgery. He had 8 crowns, a filling, a spacer, and 3 molar extractions. The surgery took approx an hour. They called me in at 12:40pm to let me know he made it through surgery fine and they will call me back when he wakes up. We then will wait in the waiting room while he recovers fully. So all in all I spent about 4 hours for the entire thing. I believe this place is professional, kind and sufficient for our needs. We didn't have a bad experience AT ALL. If you are hesitant because this is the only place available to you and you have read many negative reviews, here is a positive one. Yes, the wait time can be a pain, but that's part of dental work. It's kind of nice that they got it all done and we don't have to come back for 6 months, sure beats several scary dentist appointments. I recommend Salida Surgery Center.

I waited over an hour for them to call my daughter. As we were waiting I asked to use their bathroom. When we walked in there was a huge roach on the floor. My instinct was to take my daughter and leave, but we had been waiting so long already so I continued to wait. When they finally called my daughter in the assistant tells me that I have to wait in the lobby. I asked her if it is because they are going to take x-rays and she said yes. So after my daughters x-rays I went in to sit with daughter to wait for the dentist. Then another assissant came over to me and said parents are NOT allowed to wait with their child. I asked why and she said it is their "policy." I have taken my daughter to other dentists office and have always been able to sit with her in the room. I then looked over and saw a kid, who looked about 7 years old, crying hysterically as they were working on his mouth. The assistants did not even acknowledge the boy. They were just talking and laughing like the boy didn't even exist. I did notice that this child's parent was not in the room. My heart was breaking for the child. Needless to say, I took my daughter and we left. I will not be returning there. Please be careful leaving you children unattended in that office. I am thinking of writing to the Dental Board of California because something tells me this is not legal.

Dr. Hart throughly explained my options and fitted me with a custom dental device similar to a retainer. After years of waking up multiple times a night, I can finally wake up feeling rested. The instrument he was using chipped one of my teeth and he blew me off when I went back for my follow up to receive my crowns. He did nothing to fix the problem.
