When one is having such an awesome wedding, one must have an equally awesome photographer. It was really important to me that the photos truly captured the feeling of the event. I wanted people to look at the photos and really feel what it was like to be there. After browsing the websites of scores of professional photographers, I was starting to get discouraged. Either the photos in their portfolio seemed way overly posed, the photographer was wayyyy out of my price range, or both. Then I happened to come across an ad Samantha posted on Craigslist. Her portfolio was one of the best I'd seen. I knew she'd be way out of my price range, but I e-mailed her anyway. I was wrong. Her quote was really reasonable, and she was very enthusiastic about photographing our Martian adventure. I knew we'd found our photographer. We met up with Samantha several months before the wedding so she could check out the planetarium and talk to us about what we wanted to see in the photos. In the weeks leading up to it, she did light tests at the Planetarium to make things would look right. And on the day of, she took tons of killer photos. She was always professional and very easy to work with. We got the photos back two weeks after the wedding and they are all that I hoped for. Really. If people want to know what my wedding was like, all they have to do is look at the photos. All the emotions, all the happiness, it's all there. I also recommended Samantha to some other friends who had a much different ceremony than ours: outdoors, private, low key. (Our reception was pretty raucous.) And she did a wonderful job too, capturing all the serenity and tranquility of that situation as well as she captured our big party. We were so happy when Sam agreed to accompany us on our not-so-traditional walk down the municipal asile. Calm and collected during the whole event, Sam managed to keep us at ease as well. I was a hectic waiting period at the City Clerk's office (nearly two hours!) but Sam took it all in stride, making sure to fully capture the excitment and energy of the whole event.
