Everything Alberto (the main guy behind TS Home Improvement) touches turns to gold and I guarantee he is the guy you want to work with. We had water damage caused by a slow leaking pipe in the wall behind our kitchen sink and we found Alberto right after learning it wasn't going to be covered by insurance. We also happened to be weeks out from the due date for our third child. After having many general contractors visit our home and give us bids, we hired Alberto. He came into our home and made an extremely stressful situation not only feel manageable, but also helped us figure out several sensible upgrades to roll into the project that have helped us love our home even more. We were stressed out to the max when he first met with us and I will never forget his patience and kindness in helping us wrap our arms around this project and figure out how to approach it. My husband and I are not particularly handy and tend to lean toward hiring work out rather than DIY. In the past we've done a studs-out remodel (working with contractors) on one house, plus worked with a bunch of contractors when we made some upgrades upon buying our current house. All this to say: Alberto operates in a stratosphere above and beyond every contractor we've ever worked with. I am pretty Type A and have never worked with a contractor who actually may pay more attention to detail than I do -- seriously he is so impressive. Having someone work in your home for weeks on end is also a pretty personal experience and Alberto is someone you actually look forward to seeing each day. He is kind, incredibly thoughtful, patient, and so easy to talk to and work with. He and his brother, Alejandro, work so clean that my husband and I were amused that the areas of the house where they were working were cleaner than other parts of our house. They are also just such good humans. Only one example of this is that one day when I had a huge Costco order delivered on our stoop they brought the groceries into the kitchen for me without saying a thing and I didn't realize it until they had left for the day. On top of providing a remarkably smooth experience, Alberto is extremely skilled at everything he does. He is one of those people you just learn to trust with a project because he is so experienced and capable. He kept impressing us with everything he did looking better than we could have expected. All in, Alberto demo'd and repaired a bunch of framing and siding on the exterior of our house, repaired the damage in our kitchen (including floor joists and a load bearing wall with dry rot, repairing our cabinets, and replacing flooring), replaced our kitchen sink and some tiling that was broken while a plumber was fixing the pipes, completely gutted and remodeled our laundry room, including new floors and drywall, installing cabinets and building a custom waterfall butcher block washing machine box and folding counter. He also did random tasks like hang our new tv, install a light, and other miscellaneous things that were so helpful to cross off our to do list. Tl;dr: I cannot recommend the company because of a gas leak caused by an incorrect stove installation and various other issues that we now have to spend time and money to fix. Long story: We hired Jackie and her team to complete a few renovations in our new home before we moved in. The big items were: demo and install flooring (laminate and carpet) throughout, demo and install countertop and kitchen island, and wall and ceiling paint. We were given a 3-4 week timeline. The entire project took two weeks longer, and about 10k (30%) more than estimated. Here are the main reasons we can't recommend Jackie and her team for work in your home: * They installed the gas stove wrong, which caused a leak. My husband alerted to them that it smelled like gas while they were still in the home. They said they fixed it. Ten minutes later it still smelled like gas, so we called puget sound energy, who advised us to evacuate. When they showed up they found that the gas stove was not connected to the gas line correctly. PSE technician also showed us where Jackie and her team had attempted a fix, but was wrong. * Communication challenges. Maybe our communication styles were incompatible. And maybe we knew too little about renovations and managing general contractors and renovations. Either way, we really struggled to get a clear or timely response. We only found out about delays through multiple questions and messages, and usually on the day of the estimated deadline. We may have been too trusting; as parents to a toddler and a new baby, we really didn't have the time or energy to constantly check in, and assumed "no news is good news". * The work is inconsistent. Jackie and her team did a beautiful job painting around the trim, behind outlet covers, and taking doors off to get a full coverage. But also didn't paint between the microwave and the backsplash, the trim is cut at an angle around some doors but not others, and there's caulk residue throughout the entire house. * Both kitchen and laundry room plumbings were incorrectly done, and we had to pay an extra $5k to have it fixed.
