I cannot give enough praise to Jose and his team at Cruz construction. I reached out to him in late August to get a bid for a full bathroom remodel. He responded quickly and was out to give us an estimate within a few days. I was amazed at not only his professionalism, but how easy he was to talk to about the project. He listened to my ideas, and presented a beautiful design. From the time we agreed to the project, he was in continual communication with us. We were able to fully start the remodel in January, but even before then, he assisted us with picking out materials, helping us choose items from from different vendors, and working out details that we had thought of. Unlike other contractors, very small details matter to him. He is attentive to the most minor inaccuracies, and will go back and correct them until he and I are both happy. In the past, we've had difficulties not having a project manager onsite. Not the case with Cruz Construction. Jose was here almost daily (M-F), unless he was picking up materials, which was always communicated to us. We also appreciated the additional security provided by having a lock box for the key to our house. He didn't even seem to be bothered by our dogs, who were kenneled, but can be very vocal. Jose gave us a dream bathroom, down to the detailing on the shampoo shelves. Jose worked with us to customize the shower layout. He was also able to salvage much of the damaged floor and re-use it which we greatly appreciated as a close match would likely not be possible. TL;DR: Hire Cruz Construction and Renovation This project has been in the works for over a year. We initially asked Jose to come out and estimate a much more expansive remodel for a master and guest bathroom. This would've been our first remodel as homeowners, and we were looking for rough numbers that we could start setting budgets to. Jose was very detailed, methodical, and offered a number of ways for us to conserve budget, while still getting the space we wanted. A year later, and with expectations properly set, our guest bathroom still needed a lot of work. With young son and one on the way, we needed a tub to replace the shower as no bathroom in the house has a tub. Jose took our designer's plans and we worked with him to make it executable. We were responsible for buying all finish materials and had them ready for him on just about day one. His crew set out flooring protection and wall protection to keep as much dust contained as possible. Jose and his team, who were fantastic, accommodated our desire to remove and blow back in nearly new insulation in our attic to raise the ceilings to match the rest of the house. They laid large format tile on the floor and executed a ¼ offset tub surround tile, while adding beautiful vertical blue tile behind a floating vanity. Tile really was the standout part of this project and Jose nailed it with flush, flat, surfaces on three different tiles. The shower niche is a lowkey highlight as the way Jose was able to cut the tile reduced grout lines and he even set the shelves at a slight angle to let water drip out. The project turned out amazing, and Jose's attention to detail was great. I expected to have a long punch list as I'm quite detail oriented myself, but it was surprisingly short with all the finishing touches, sealants, straight paint lines, and care with the finish materials. Jose and his foreman, Rodrigo, made up the primary team - and we really couldn't have asked for a better group to be in our home for the three-month project. I had a water outlet from the dishwasher separate in the outside wall. Never noticed until I tried to sell it turned up during inspection. The floor and wall were rotted and needed replaced, both inside and out. After being stood up by contractors for weeks and getting pushed back on commitment dates i frantically looked on yelp for a contractor to redo a deck and some other construction work on a soon-to-be rental. I don't think a five star justifies for this company. They deserve 10 stars! I never ever had such a wonderful experience with anyone. I was so scared about hiring someone I never met or done business with. After a couple of meeting, I knew I could trust Jose with my life! He did lot more than I asked for and with a smile. And we made lot of changes and Jose's comments were, " I will make you happy". And he did. I did not know God made people like Jose who is so caring, honest and willing to go the extra mile for his customers. Now let me talk about the facts. I will start with Jose's communication skills. He kept me up to date on daily basis. He returned every call & text within minutes. He told me that he would get my job done in three weeks. He finished major portion of work in less than two weeks. The undone parts were my additions. His crew's work on electrical, plumbing, cabinets, back splash, counter tops, bathroom shower door, tiles, kitchen floor, new toilets, etc was of highest quality.
