Poor quality flashing (when there was flashing) around the roof penetrations. I can see the sky looking out of the stack vent penetration. The cut out for the powered vent is way bigger and jagged than it needed to be. Do not use. read more

Some questionable issues. Estimator was several hours late on day of appointment. Required several calls to get Estimator on site; reason given was "mix-up" in scheduling at office. Clue #1. Phone number for main office in NH has 603 area code (which is correct for NH); calls always went to voicemail; caller ID from one POC (returning one of my calls) was for Nevada. Clue #2. Days went by and no (promised) project estimate was provided; no calls from business. Clue #3. An e-mail to Estimator requesting status went unanswered. Clue #4. A phone call to main office number and voicemail left has not been answered after two days. Clue #5. Glad I didn't do business with them. read more

Horrible follow through. Eager to get your money for a new roof. Zero motivation to come back for repairs. Told we're not a priority after waiting months for leak repairs. Awful. Don't do it! read more

Great company to deal with. I could not have hired a better company to re-shingle my house.

This is a tale of two services. They put on a roof for us and for the most part we are pleased. In the subsequent winter they sent us a flyer about snow removal from the roof. Both the flyer and verbal interactions with Dwight and Sons were very misleading as to cost. What we thought might cost 65-130 dollars ended up being well over 400.00. The owner tried to summarize and dismiss it as a "misunderstanding" - it was not - it was misleading and miscommunication on their part. Further - if you use them make sure you add to the contract - "contact owner for approval if amount exceeds $xxx.00. They should have that on their contracts and I suspect they know they should. read more

Installed metal roof and two skylights in my home. Communicated well during the work, as we were not present and trusted them to make the best decisions for minor requests. We were ready to clean the inside our home after skylights were put in, but didn't see anything different as we had left it, very clean. The employees were kind and thoughtful during our visit and cleaned up the work area to our satisfaction. They even removed a hornets nest I could not reach. Dwight and Sons did a complete overhaul of my very distressed 100 year old farm house...siding, windows, new steel roof. A large scope of work was completed very quickly once work was underway, windows in 3 days, roof and siding each taking a week. Pricing was very fair, and the finished product was just beautiful! Am planning to use their services again when we add a large addition. read more

Hired them to build a barn. They finished the barn before winter, but asked if they could leave their excavator on my property. I saw no reason to say no so I let them. Their machine leaked oil and hydraulic fluid all over the yard, which had been planned for a garden. As the soil was now contaminated, we could not plant a garden in area. Dwight was very angry when I insisted he clean up the soil. The columns they put up for the barn were covered with a vinyl, that has broken off in the weather. Cheap material which did not hold up. read more

Hired them for a large roof strip and re-shingle. The first day they show up nice and early and get cooking pretty fast. But unfortunately things start going down hill from there. My yard is immaculately landscaped but that didn't stop them from putting buckets on my perfect grass and having lunch there. Then they leave the buckets there over night for me to move them off. There are a hundred places in this yard to sit and have lunch, and that is where they chose to do it? I even went out and offered them the patio set out back on the deck for lunch, nope, not interested. Later in the day it was hot and sunny so when they left for the day they left a large tarp with shingles on it on the lawn, in the hot sun, do you know what happens when you do that, the sun burns the lawn underneath. They have been gone a couple days now, the lawn is brown in exactly that area of my lawn. They took tarps and purposefully put them right on top of plants and walked on them back and forth. Paying no mind to the plants underneath or at the very least not caring. When you mention this to the owner he tells you "that branches and some plants get roughed up during the process". I agree to some point that it is hard to avoid accidents in such situations, BUT these tarps were put on top of plants for the sole purpose of walking over them, that is not incidental contact with the plants, that is a lack of caring. The crew also banged nails into my clapboard siding to hold tarps up. Thus leaving holes that needed to be filled. The crew leader Anthony said that they are strategically placed in between the clapboard grooves, but when going around to check them 50% of them were not nailed in this manner. These tarps that were nailed up were somewhat useless in that many plants underneath them were damaged or destroyed. There is another roofing company building a house next to me right now, when they heard what happened they showed me the plywood sheets they use to direct the old shingles coming down from the roof to spots where they want them, thus avoiding dropping them on my landscaping. So there is a better way to do this, but Anthony didn't want to hear it, matter of fact Anthony made threatening gestures and tried to intimidate me. Yup, that is correct. He took me aside to ask me if I was mad at the crew because I was walking around taking pictures of the damage and not talking to the crew. I call this staying out of their way and letting them do their job, I did not realize they wanted me to entertain them during the day. So I would ask Anthony, is this high school? Am I mad at you guys? Seriously, it doesn't matter if I am. Anthony also said to me during this disagreement "f*c* you" when I mentioned something else about the nails and the tarps. This guy was really losing it and scaring me. So I called Dwight the owner and requested that Anthony not come back on the job and that having him on the job right now was not a good thing. Anthony quickly left after that, not sure if it was on his own or by Dwight the owner contacting him. But truthfully Dwight took Anthony's side when I originally called, matter of fact when informing Dwight of Anthony's actions I was greeted very harshly. Dwight eventually calmed down and come out the next day to help finish up the job and so we could talk about the problems on the job site, which by the way also included dented gutters around the house, yup, more damage, plus. We agreed to bend the gutters back in place (which came out okay, but you can still see them a bit) and for Dwight to pay for some plants to be replaced. When I was in the yard with my son, who is 6, one of their employees walked right in front of us and blocked one of his nostrils and shot snot out of other, right in front of both of us. Really? I have several reasons why I don't want this company on my property again, that didn't help matters at all, learn some manners. These guys by the way were peeing in the woods the entire few days even though I offered to show them a bathroom in the house. The majority of the crew showed no class, there were a couple guys who were very quiet and polite, and one guy there totally worked his butt off carrying bundles of shingles up and down ladders, he was also the most polite of the group. But overall, they need a lesson in how to treat a person's property and how to act in front of children at the very least. And the crew leader Anthony needs to understand when a customer is upset about his plants, his lawn and yard, it is the CUSTOMER'S lawn, not his. His opinion means NOTHING in this matter, it is my yard, not yours, and you will treat it as such. The worst part of all this is that Dwight and I worked some of it out, although I still think I took the short end of it. The fact that Anthony was not fired for threatening me is the biggest thing you should know about my review. You want someone like that on your property???? read more
