This review is focused on Laurie Auditorium, and not the campus as a whole…read more I come here for musical events, and the auditorium has average to good acoustics. Not quite as good as the Tobin but decent. The seating is pretty good. I have always been able to find a good spot. The building is pretty spread out but makes a big circle. So it's hard to get lost. Overall, this auditorium is very clean and well kept up. It's a nice place for events and has a great professional feel to it.

If a problem does arise they are prompt and willing to address and/or correct it. Other than not offering students a designated unstructured break (reason for only 4 stars) I am pleased with all other aspects. BTW: A friendly heads up, very strict with excessive tardies, which is understandable. Teachers are very involved and admin always makes themselves available (special thank you to Ms. Gomez). Kudos to the lovely ladies in the front office, always a pleasure to see you. ( which was quite often with our excessive tardies, lol) All in all will miss being a part of this family. *almost forgot, much credit to the academic and extracurricular team for consistently exposing and encouraging the students to participate in many various clubs and programs offered both on and off campus.

Started off as a great concept and good teachers, However, between Thanksgiving and Christmas,…read more they fired all the teachers and changed to online curriculum with 30+ students per classroom doing online work being monitored by a non teacher. I disenrolled my son on January 17th and had to wait until January 27th for transcripts even though he was transferring back to NISD. This delayed him getting an accurate class schedule and caused chaos for his learning, which had already been affected by their disorganized changes in the middle of the term. The principal is rude and comes to campus in leggings or sweats and does not appear professional. I had to call several times about my son's transcripts, and the person answering rudely responded about them having 14 days to get transcript requests filled. I had requested the transcripts asap due to him needing a schedule at his new school and was told on Thursday, the 19th, that they would be sent that afternoon. I believe the changes were to keep their funding, but they no longer seem to care about students' success. Probably good for youth that dropped out or just need an alternative to sitting all day in the classroom but not helpful for teens needing teacher assistance with the online only concept and 30+ students being mo itired by a non teacher in the classroom. Fights are plentiful here, there was regular SAPD visits and even an overdose one morning. Do not recommend sending your teens here unless they have been in trouble or can learn on their own, which they probably could home school just as well.
