The resort has a trampoline in the water, slides, paddle boards, paddleboats, canoes, kayaks, all included in the price of the resort and all of the water toys were laid out daily so 5 stars for that. Additionally the kids club was wonderful and they did so many fun activities with the kids like an animal show and tye dye t shirts. I really love the family friendly bonding as it should be feel. Cons The cabins while they are right on the lake are really bare bones so for someone like me who isn't familiar with cabin life it was a surprise. No tvs or wifi in the cabins which could be a plus for family bonding. The main dining room has breakfast and dinners included and the dining room is simply beautiful with a view of the lake. However the meals and service were below average. The fish was either too dry or steak too raw. The breakfast was inedible to me but the price of the resort is very reasonable so I guess I can't complain?? Also service isn't great. They forgot my meal and I had to find someone to bring it and forget about refills. Free grab and go breakfast is also available including omelettes, sausages, pancakes, choice of prepackaged cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread, coffee, tea, and juice. For those interested in using the pool or fitness areas, proof of vaccination is required. Per the public health unit, only 1 person is allowed in the fitness area per hour (even if my hubby and I wanted to work out together). A comfortable stay for more reasonable prices than many other hotels in the area. Would definitely consider staying here again if in the area.

Surprised to see non dairy milk provided for cereals and oatmeal which we were pleased. Would definitely return.

I mean granted - I was NOT going there for golf, and it's more of a golf resort. There is not a lot to do once you're there and it's off-season. We did the escape rooms (2 out of the 4) and they were FANTASTIC! Well put together, good props and the rooms were fun. They weren't too hard to figure out but a fun challenge. Aside from these rooms and some ax throwing...that's it for 'fun'. The restaurants were fine - breakfast brunch was a good mix, dinner was tasty...I had steak on one of the nights and it was delicious and made with care. Nothing stood out about the food, it tasted good and there was a decent variety to choose from. The rooms were very run of the mill, kinda outdated and what you might expect at an older resort in northern Ontario. Nothing to rave about. Was this the place I'd choose for a company retreat? Probably not - but only because you're stuck in 1 spot eating at the same places every day...but if you're only here for a day or 2, it would be ok.

I explained to him 3 times what the first man had said was the problem and kept trying to tell me I just needed to turn it off. Only to find out AFTER we left for the day, the condenser was bad. Also the sinks in the bathrooms were on a very slow drain. Also walking into the room the wood in the outside appears to be rotting away. Next up the spa... as I said we were there for our sisters wedding so they wanted a treatment. My SILs got a massage from the same woman, who was really looking for a talk therapist than a customer wanting a soothing massage. Both mentioned how much she talked, which you should never do as a therapist and both complained how much they hurt afterwards. I had a lovely woman, Yvonne, who gave me a great pedicure. The very young woman at the front seemed so disinterested in her job and helping people. I had to repeatedly go ask questions. The last question was I can't get in the pool area where my SIL was. Her reply was, I gave her the pass and she said she would wait for you. Not, here I will take you back and let you in or use your room key that will let you in. Really piss poor customer service. Dinner in the restaurant was so lackluster. 2 had linguine and clams/mussels. Between the two of them, less than 10 shellfish. My husband ordered the Mac n cheese and it was literally macaroni with some shredded cheese on the top and put under the broiler. I had overcooked flatbread. We tried to sign up for the escape room and couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. It would ring and ring then someone would pick it up and hang up. We finally walked down to the office several hours later and was told, "we just sold out". Well maybe if you had answered the phone in the first place we might have been able to do it. It is highly unlikely anyone would ask me to recommend a place up here Huntsville since I am from Southern California but I will NEVER EVER recommend this place. Shame on you Deerhurst, spend some of the money you are charging and fix this place up. You should be ashamed

So, there is nothing special about the room, I liked the heater though. I can hear the room in no time! A bonus was to find a microwave as well which is nice if you have snacks to be heated.
