We recently moved to the central valley from the bay area to which we have grown accustom to going to major hospitals where they have specialists on site. It was a shock to see that the process was so different here, you need to get a referral from your primary to see a urologist. My father recently had a knee surgery in which the aftermath caused him to have urine retention, sending us rushing to the ER to get a catheter placed. TWO WEEKS later we are still waiting for a referral to see a urologist. My father is clearly scared and has painful discomfort with his first catheter. I called many time, 8 consecutive days to his primary with no help, they said it's a process and to be patient. When we had a follow up with his knee surgeon he was shocked to hear that he had not gone to see a urologist THREE WEEKS LATER. Our surgeon said he was going to call his colleague Dr. Bhardwaj to see my father right away. Dr. Bhardwaj's called us that day and we were able to see them the next day. Dr. Bhardwaj found that my dad had an enlarged prostate which was at an alarming size, he asked us to come in the next day so he could do an ultrasound. The nurse even let us know that they never did ultrasounds on Friday because they have a Dr. Gill from USC who does clinicals that day. Long story short Dr. Bhardwaj found on the ultrasound that only option for my father was surgery due to how large his prostate had grown. But because of Dr. Bhardwaj's thoughtful planning my father was able to see Dr. Gill that same day, who was the top surgeon in the nation for that exact surgery. Dr. Gill is always booked 3 months in advanced but because of Dr. Bhardwaj my father was able to schedule his surgery in less then a month. I have never come across such a thoughtful and honest physician. Dr. Bhardwaj talks to you with honesty and compassion which is rare to see that duality. On top of all of this, his support staff Alva and Melissa are so kind and always do their best to keep their patients comfortable and at ease. The facilities are also very clean and modern. Being the Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California means that have all the latest technology and knowledge in the field of urology. If you need a urologist I implore you to go see Dr. Bhardwaj and his team. You will be in the best hands possible. (Here's the kicker, it took 32 days to finally get a referral from my dad's primary doctor when Dr. Bhardwaj took us in practically the same day) cared so much that he made an exception for my father and actually he wanted Dr. Gill

Office: Insurance? -- My wife gave it. **My wife: Do you want our supplemental insurance, too? Office: No, not necessary. Date of birth? -- My wife gave it. Office: Can you read the insurance card number again? -- My wife repeated it. Office: Do you have any other insurance? **My wife (what??): I just asked you if you wanted it, you said not necessary. Office: Well, can I have it? **My wife (bemused): OK...let me get the card. (my wife reads the info to her). Office: OK, what's your husband's date of birth? **My wife (huh?): I gave that to you already. Office: Can you give it to me again? **My wife: Seriously? You didn't...get it?...a few minutes ago? OK. (she gives it again) Office: And what's your husband's name again? **My wife (trying to keep calm): That was the FIRST thing I gave you 5 minutes ago! Office: Can you spell it for me? **My wife (looking at me at this point and shrugging her shoulders in disbelief): Sure. (she spells my name) Office: Your insurance, can you read the number again? **My wife (understandably fed up): You know.........it doesn't sound as if you're really interested in even having this conversation, since you keep asking me the EXACT SAME QUESTIONS!! over and over. I think we'll find another doctor whose office staff actually pays attention!! (My wife hangs up the phone). SO...I'm guessing it shouldn't be THAT difficult to ascertain WHO was answering the phones in Dr. Hillyer's office at 2pm on February 19, 2024. Because THAT WOMAN...is the FIRST INTERACTION the "public" experiences while representing Dr. Shahab Hillyer. Incompetence. Lack of caring. Indifference. That's the ONLY thing we walked away with from this one, simple phone call to merely set up an appointment. Pay attention, Dr Hillyer. You may very well be terrific, but WE'LL never know, because you hired Ms. Indifferent to answer your phones.

As soon as they move to Clovis, things changed. When I moved over behind Clovis community hospital, they changed insurance policies because they moved to a new group, and working with them was impossible. I got so bad I was told that my insurance is no longer taking, and he basically told me they couldn't help me and go outside. This is not how you treat a patient who has been with the doctor for over ten years and relies on him for advice. The sad part is I was not the only one; there were at least 2 to 3 other people in the waiting room and also left, and we talked outside by the elevators; one of them mentioned a lawsuit. I didn't jump into that conversation, but yes, we were all disappointed with the treatment from the staff and the no communication from the doctor. Now let's add salt to the wound I returned to Dr. Rainwater, and when I asked her all my files, they refused to give them to me. Here we are almost eight or nine months later, and I'm still waiting and have called regularly, and this offer should be ashamed of yourself the way to treat customers and patients I can recommend Dr. Rainwater in Valley urologist; they were inviting and took me back in in a heartbeat; they do a great job.

First and formost i want to say that the medical care i have received from the doctors has been great. They are caring physicians that strive to give the best care. The office staff on the other hand leave alot to be desired. Over the last few years it has deteriated to horrible experiences . There has been several incidents that could be reported, but i am going to focus on this one incident that happened on this last Thursday. I phoned into the office with a medical issue. I did receive a call back from a back office staff in a few hours. She assured me that she would talk to the doctor and get right back to me. I have had enough UTI's over the years to know that is what i was having. I never received a call back. Im still waiting. By 6pm on Thursday evening i realized that i was not going to get a call back. I had been in pain all day. Thank God Fresno has several walk in medical facilites and i took myself to one. I received the medical care i needed. The doctor there phoned in a prescription. I began feeling better the next day. It is obvious that the staff member at Urology Associates never spoke to my doctor. I have never experienced anything like this before from any medical facility. I can only hope that the administration reads these reviews and considers evaluating their staff and hopefully make changes.
