We recently moved to the central valley from the bay area to which we have grown accustom to going to major hospitals where they have specialists on site. It was a shock to see that the process was so different here, you need to get a referral from your primary to see a urologist. My father recently had a knee surgery in which the aftermath caused him to have urine retention, sending us rushing to the ER to get a catheter placed. TWO WEEKS later we are still waiting for a referral to see a urologist. My father is clearly scared and has painful discomfort with his first catheter. I called many time, 8 consecutive days to his primary with no help, they said it's a process and to be patient. When we had a follow up with his knee surgeon he was shocked to hear that he had not gone to see a urologist THREE WEEKS LATER. Our surgeon said he was going to call his colleague Dr. Bhardwaj to see my father right away. Dr. Bhardwaj's called us that day and we were able to see them the next day. Dr. Bhardwaj found that my dad had an enlarged prostate which was at an alarming size, he asked us to come in the next day so he could do an ultrasound. The nurse even let us know that they never did ultrasounds on Friday because they have a Dr. Gill from USC who does clinicals that day. Long story short Dr. Bhardwaj found on the ultrasound that only option for my father was surgery due to how large his prostate had grown. But because of Dr. Bhardwaj's thoughtful planning my father was able to see Dr. Gill that same day, who was the top surgeon in the nation for that exact surgery. Dr. Gill is always booked 3 months in advanced but because of Dr. Bhardwaj my father was able to schedule his surgery in less then a month. I have never come across such a thoughtful and honest physician. Dr. Bhardwaj talks to you with honesty and compassion which is rare to see that duality. On top of all of this, his support staff Alva and Melissa are so kind and always do their best to keep their patients comfortable and at ease. The facilities are also very clean and modern. Being the Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California means that have all the latest technology and knowledge in the field of urology. If you need a urologist I implore you to go see Dr. Bhardwaj and his team. You will be in the best hands possible. (Here's the kicker, it took 32 days to finally get a referral from my dad's primary doctor when Dr. Bhardwaj took us in practically the same day) cared so much that he made an exception for my father and actually he wanted Dr. Gill

I tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Rahman as an existing patient for weeks and left messages with his staff to call me almost every other day for weeks. The issue was worse after the procedure, so on my follow-up I mentioned to Dr Rahman, that I was not happy. He recommended I give it a couple more months, I agreed, so he had me set up an appointment with one of his PA's. Since my issue had not gotten better and had maybe gotten a little worse, I showed up for the appointment with his PA. After waiting 40 minutes, I decided my time was just as important as the PA's, I told the office staff I was leaving. Bad enough you have to wait 40 minutes (on a good day) to see Dr Rahman, but 40 minutes for a PA is absolutely ridiculous. Dr Rahman's office has no consideration for their patients, I think he recommends procedures, that aren't needed or he knows won't help....so he can make more money off his patients. They don't answer their phone, they don't return calls, and they will let you wait over an hour for a 10 minute visit.

She then complained to her coworker about wanting to go home. I think her name was Yvonne or something like that. Big lashes, her hair was like balayage but not really. Incredibly rude. Don't know how someone like that is working in the medical field. The medical assistant that took my baby also didn't know what she was talking about. Constantly looked like she wanted to laugh out of nervousness or something. Would just look off to the side when spoken to. They had no empathy. No compassion. Qualities you need if you are working with BABIES. They gave me my baby back shaking and crying. I was crying. I could hear him cry the entire time they had him back there. Meeting them and speaking to them beforehand and after was so rushed. After, a nurse just handed him to us and they left. No words. We had to ask. Also charged us an extra 100 than what was said. Dr Ambati did a good job but he desperately needs new staff. I'd go elsewhere.
