All the time billing you for way more than you expect. Not at all aggressive at winning, just focused on settling. Don't use.

I used this firm to do the legal work when selling my house. The lawyer presented me with a bill…read morethousands of dollars more than expected, and when I asked for it to be itemized, I was ignored for four months until I took it to the partners. Again, it took two more months and numerous emails before I received a proper reply. He charged me $500 twice for meetings he had (but never informed me of) with other lawyers in his own firm and still left another $1500 unaccounted for. Gary Keller and this firm will never be recommended to anyone ever.

I even vouched for him as I saw he is on the "bad lawyer list" I emailed them :His reviews are bad yes, he's an asshole. But... he's your asshole. He wins. He's good. If you can stand him. He is condescending, impatient and has very little empathy. None. If you cry too much or piss him off. You're out. However, he has the right combination of ego/confidence , paired with what seems to be mild aspergers or anti social personality disorder, add a dash of little man syndrome. Youve got a legal genius. Im not kidding. He is good. He needs to win. If he takes your case, it means you'll get your child back. But you have to listen to him. I he I imagine he's someone who takes the board game home if he's losing... it was like a whirlwind abusive relationship with no honeymoon period. However I had a simultaneous domestic violence hearing in which I was the victim and i was a mess as they took my child on the word of my abuser. It took forever, CAS did no investigation wouldn't listen and the trauma was crippling as i lost my baby. I was near suicidal. He didnt kill me though some days I left his office and cried the whole walk home and evening until I slept. When the criminal case came up nearly 2.5 years later.... had to give my statement and damn that sweet jerk, he had helped me. I was tougher. I could keep my facts straight even with my abuser there. I swear he did it on purpose as the way he treated me when he asked me questions, any question, was as rude and insensitive as the defense attorney. Without Jonathans emotional abuse and blatant disregard for my feelings, I would've been caught off guard it may have ended up like so many other cases do.... a "he said she said" all because the woman is afraid or can't function with her abuser present;especially when being treated so poorly while having to recall something so traumatic. Im not sure id have gotten my son back. I did. Immediately after that trial. I had him more than half the time, then full time by the next family court date. I asked him if I could hug him. He actually smiled and said yes.He hugs like that time Trump forgot how to drink water. He likes winning. He is good. But he's a dick. Just make sure he's your dick. The best lawyers are sometimes the worst people. My opinion has changed drastically. Mother in law never left us alone called CAS constantky with unfounded claims shes a control freak she had wanted to keep my son. So she made our fresh start hell at our new home. My son was so happy to be home. Next thing I know we have neighbours hating us and calling CAS our worker saw right through it all and kept the file open so I didnt get a new worker who might listen to her. He was going to help us get on the same page and her to stop calling; then he was promoted. I had 4 different workers in 6 months MIL called and lied turned things around that she did.. next thing I know CAS is believing her - we went right back to how it was before the criminal trial. They literally said they were taking my son b/c I had a disability without any evidence of it being an issue other than their triggering me and finding itd be easier to work with a "normal" person. Long story short I lost my son. I called Jonathan I couldnt stop crying - my fiancee was there he spoke to him apologized. Things were still at it to the point time wise they could just give him back. A shrewd lawyer couldve done it with a visit to the director or a well penned letter. He was so rude and said he could not help me if I was going to cry I apologized but I coulnt help it. This was part of the trauma I worked to overcome and they went back and re did the things that scarred me so badly. My son is my life. He told mhy fiancee he was busy and gave me the name of another lawyer. He did it so smugly and impolitely, I needed him. This lawyer seemed nice but he was the worst lawyer in history, BAD INEFFECTIVE AT BEST. HE LOST MY SON ON A BLACK AND WHITE PRIMA FACIE DESCRIMINATION MATTER. With no evidence on their side. Jonathan did that on purpose. I feel this very strongly as any moron can see this guy was inept. BEWARE. SADISTIC AND PETTY IN MY OPINION

I fired him in…read moreNovember and I got a email from the courthouse soon after when I want to reschedule my court conference because the one in July was adjourned. And I've been telling this lawyer let's go in front of a judge even before that he refused to, and now, I have to wait until March or April to get a court conference in front of a judge. Very dishonest he wasn't working for me. He was working for the other side. And then trying to grease his buddies pockets realtor trying to sell my house for nothing and not caring about where I am going to be living. And I told this lawyer from day one that I wanted to keep my home and still wanted to try to sell it with his friend as the realtor to someone else for less than what I offered. That's some backwards deal. I'll never trust this lawyer some shady stuff going on with his lawyer. I could've been done my court case in July for family court instead they want to prolong it to make more money stating that they're talking to the other side. trying to negotiate yet they keep asking every month for money for what for talking when we could've gone to court and resolve this issue in front of a judge. Why was the lawyer adjourned a court case I only could think of one reason to make more money. I'll be telling the judge this in March, what happened?

I can remember him trying to argue with me to accept a 50k settlement to sell me house to my ex. I ended up representing myself and she finally offered 250k. plus agreed to waive child support. when access to my kids was denied this man was too busy to even write the other counsel a letter. you can have fun wasting your money if you want. he basically abandoned me. to this day I don't think he realizes I have spoken to the law society and there are lawyers that specialize in going after other lawyers for legal malpractice. he took $20 000 of my money and in the end sent the police to my house because I threatened to take him to court. him and his wife both enjoyed having me attend his house and do odd jobs for him and in the end he just betrayed me and lost patience for my case. he is nothing more than a law student a few years fresh out of school. he has made mistakes that I may never be able to correct. he released too much information to the other side which they ended up using against me. he wouldn't listen to me when I tried to warn him. I hired a senior counsel from Toronto who also tried telling him the same thing after it was too late but I trusted him just because he was cheap. trust me you get what you pay for. people who praise him have no idea what he's really all about. doesn't return emails basically everyday for him it's just money money money retainer retainer retainer. you really think he's going to lose any sleep over years of your hard work or your children's future? I will never forget how this man hurt my family and my children. he will be VERY lucky if I don't start court action against him but thesedays I'm too emotionally distraught over the loss of my children to start anything. he has no idea how much evidence I have in prior emails if I ever choose to take legal action against him. what goes around comes around. life has taught me not to be angry anymore. but the law is there to protect people like us just as much as it is to protect lawyers. they should call them "liars" not lawyers. because all they know how to do is lie. they actually believe their own lies. never again will I trust another lawyer. thanks to him I've learned how to do my own motions and represent myself. I'm Ontario over 70 percent of people in family court represent themselves because of the ridiculous amounts of money lawyers charge. once ir twice in my life I met lawyers that weren't in it for the money. thesedays if such people still exist I have no idea where to find them or who they are. if this review helps to protect just ONE person from falling victim to this man it will have been worth it for me.
