Even if you're not taking a ferry yourself it's an interesting place to visit and watch all the ships, ferries, fishing boats and other small craft coming in and out.

Side note, the UK in ON IT when it comes to recycling! I used the restroom here, and they had little stations where you could dispose of your chewing gum for recycling. Your CHEWING GUM! How brilliant is that?! It was a bit odd to have to go outside to retrieve my luggage, but that was due to construction. But oh well, I've dealt with worse.

Not only is Karl knowledgeable, but the Tour was well planned out and very accommodating. We were able to add a stop along the way and drop one of the planned stops. We toured the Glenfiddich and Glenlivet distilleries. Exactly what we wanted to do. We had a great time, large thanks to Aberdeen Tours and would highly recommend them to anyone coming to Aberdeen.

The staff are cheerful and helpful, providing a nice counterpart to the (often gloomy) Aberdeen weather. Currently (October 2008) undergoing a complete refurbishment: if the parts already completed are continued through the rest of the property, it will be an impressive addition to Aberdeen's overpriced hotel stock. It is in the rather seedy area around the docks and railway station, but this area is being gentrified and already has some reasonable bars and restaurants. A nice touch in the rooms is a somewhat idiosyncratic review of the restaurants in the centre of Aberdeen. Note that there are no lifts to upper floors!
