I would never use this company ever again. The guy came out to service our system. Mind you we have 2 units. He wanted to charge another 100 dollars to check the second unit after I've already paid a service fee to come out. Didn't ask him to fix it, only to check it and tell us what was wrong. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I see why you have a 2.6 Rating. Y'all were recommended to us but next time we will check reviews on any company that's referred to us. Oh! They also tried to rip us off by saying we should just replace the entire unit because we needed the pan to be repaired or replaced. Mind you nothings wrong with the unit. read more

Horrific Experience When You Actually Need Service... In May of 2021, we had a Dyes representative to a large home that we purchased in Randolph County. We were told that our existing two units were old and not efficient. They worked, but it would be best to replace them. Fine. We asked for what would be the best and the representative sold us on about $15,000 of two brand new units, installation and web based thermostats as we lived out of state at the time. Everything has worked perfectly until May 2024. We noted that our electric bill started to increase to over $600 a month and upon reviewing the logs of the thermostats, one unit was running 3-4 hours a day to maintain the 77 inside temperature that we set it at. The second unit was running 18-20 hours a day and could only get the area of the house below 77 degrees in the wee hours of the night. Simply working 5x more than the first unit and not cooling. We have three plus years of saved logs. We can tell you exactly how the cooling system worked this month last year, the year before and so on. We filled out an online service request form with Dyes on the 28th of June. No Response. I called their offices on the 5th and got an appointment for the 9th. The technician came out, really nice guy. However, did not truly understand the problem, hooked up his gauges, ran tests, added 1lb of refrigerant and said we were cured. I was not impressed, nor was I convinced. I called their offices and got someone who claimed to be in charge and one of the owners. I found out later that was incorrect. He indicated that the tech had found oil in the drip pan and that the coil in the air handler needed to be replaced. News to me, tech that was there did not say a word. He stated that he would order the part and install it on Thursday the 11th. They did in fact arrive on the 11th and replace the coil. Yet we still have the same problem. I called again on Friday the 12th. Got the "service manager" who basically told me that since it was a Friday night, that I needed to wait the weekend and he would call me first thing on Monday (15th). No call. No follow-up. The "repaired" unit ran over 18 hours each day of the weekend and only got that section of the house down to 78 degrees well into the evening. Called again at 2pm on the 15th and indicated that I had not received a call back as I was supposed to. Receptionist "Megan" is about as useless as they come. Asked for the owner, was told he is out of the building, asked for someone above the service manager, told everyone was in a meeting and someone would call me back in 10 minutes. Still waiting. Dyes seems to be a great company when you need to buy something. But when it comes to service it's a total joke. Got a call back from the service manager "Ryan". Told me that he would send a tech out to do a "full diagnostic" of the system. I question that as it's exactly what they did on the 9th when they came out. So far: 7/9 1st tech did not fix problem 7/11 part did not fix problem 7/12 No way for service call. 7/15 Service Manager Did not send tech or follow up until I called their offices. I've asked multiple times to speak to Tim Smith, the owner of the company and he is continuously not available. Sales Ability A+ Customer Service F- Again, great when you are about to write a check them, then pretty terrible after that. We are now recording all interactions with them; I expect this to get legal pretty fast. I have also contacted WALB News 10 for media assistance. Finally got a call back from "Tim Smith" the owner. He was in fact in the office. Refuses to take any responsibility for the problem. I have now reached out to Daikin Corporate and legal counsel. read more

This is no longer the Christian owned company that it was decades ago when I started using them. They sent a nice but inexperienced young man to check my A/C. He left without finding or fixing the dripping noise I was hearing but charged $169 for coming. 2 weeks later I called them back because the dripping was getting worse. This time they sent a young man with more experience. He broke the stairs to my attic. He easily exceeded the weight limit by 50-100 pounds (he must have told me this 4-5 times after breaking them) but tried to go up them anyway! It turns out there was no need for him to go up there. Not until after he ripped the ladder apart did he ask me where I was hearing the noise coming from and it turned out to be the drip pan where the coils are located. He charged another $75 for coming out. Next day I called the office and Megan told me I would need to talk to the service manager, Tony. When he finally returned my call his attitude wasn't nice and it deteriorated throughout the conversation. He said they weren't going to pay to have it fixed or replaced - that I couldn't hold them responsible because the young man had not done it on purpose. On purpose or not he broke the ladder and his best guess for a new one was $400 plus whatever it would cost to have it installed. I don't have the money for that and do not feel that I should have to pay for another attic ladder when the only thing I did wrong was call this company. The ladder was in good working order - it was just tested far beyond it's capacity by someone using bad judgement. I am very disappointed with them now and won't use them in the future. They do not take responsibility for their actions or have any accountability or ethics towards their customers. Some say I should call the owner and make sure he knows what happened but I can only assume he hired this Tony guy to be his mouth and speak for the company. If you decide to use them, you have been forewarned that they are not reliable and do not take responsibility for their actions. read more

This company installed two 2 year old units on a new home build. When the first unit went out it took me a year to get them to fix it and they only fixed it once threatened with court, lawsuit, etc. Now, the second unit went out and Tim Smith doesn't want to take responsibility for it. He blames it on the previous owners. I'm my experience, when you buy a business you buy the Goodwill it has built up and the problems they've created, too. Tim Smith's word is about as good as rotten milk. Go with another HVAC company. You will thank me later....or just ask around before you do business with them. There are plenty of other people in my neighborhood who have had the same problem. Run fast and far away from this company. read more

Dyes Heating and Cooling installed three A/C units in our new home in 2018 and we have had nothing but trouble since. I have so much money tied up in service calls. They refuse to stand behind their work. One of our units is once again not working.... and I am now told by Dyes that our units are no longer under warranty because Dyes Heating and Cooling didn't complete the warranty paperwork after they were installed nor did they give it to me to complete. On another note, our ducting is so unbalanced and the owner, Tim told us that by law there can be a 10 degree temperature difference between rooms and this is acceptable. I'm sure this isn't acceptable in his home. Our master bedroom is freezing and the other rooms in our home are unbearably hot. Our guests are so uncomfortable in the summer because we can't get it cool enough, and they freeze in the winter because we can't get it warm enough. I do not recommend this company. Closed on a house on Friday at like 5pm. City of Albany decided one business day was enough for me to get everything changed over and disconnected my power and gas on Tuesday morning. Tony came out the same day I called, and hooked my gas back up for less than the other places I talked to. Super nice dude, did quick thorough work, got me up and running again, highest recommendation for Dyes. Good people, great prices, solid work. read more

Dyes installed my packaged unit a few years ago, and most recently replaced the under warranty compressor to that unit. I have referred their services for elderly relatives who I wanted to be treated fairly with repairs. So far, no disappointment besides me having to request the technician to mask up when entering the home, to which he apologized and obliged. They are prompt, reasonably priced, and stand behind their work. I would recommend the annual HVAC services offered as well installation of new units. read more
