I highly doubt that there's a worse post office anywhere in the United States than this one. The lines are long the people who work there are slow and half asleep and most of the time in the neighborhood we don't even get mail delivery or they lose a lot of items. Really, anything to avoid the Dyker Heights Post Office. Their postal carriers are the worst who don't care. Mail left in the wrong boxes, mail misdelivered, envelopes left on your doorstep during a rainstorm that would easily fit your mailbox. This use to be a great post office, now it s the worst. 2 workers on a Saturday. 1 doing a passport application for 20 minutes when I decided to leave. Other one taking forever to give person a money order and stamped envelope. Went off counter and disappeared. This post office really has to be investigated!! my girlfriend had a $200 package of clothing and we were at her house when we got the message "your package was delivered and left on your door step" meanwhile there wasn't a package in sight nor was a delivery truck. I came to this post office hoping it would be there and the lady said exactly what the message said "it was delivered and left infront." Now sadly, cause she's paranoid, she delivers her packages to my house cause this never happened to me before. I got her package today as I was sitting in front and saw the mailman leave it by the mailbox. It was closed when I got there for some reason but it was supposed to close at 5 on a Friday and one man told me that it was only closed for a moment. Before I got there, I was on the bus and there were people taking pictures of me, then when I went to transfer, the bus had skipped me. So I ended up walking here and a kind man tried speaking to me in Cantonese, prob assuming I was Cantonese. He saw that I was a child and took my package and I told him it was a package to be refunded. I left it in his hands and he told me to go home. So kind I'm so thankful for him. My local post office. It's not modern like other post offices. I found out they used to have the self automated machines to ship packages but no one used it. Which is a bummer because I would appreciate that installment. However, it's rarely busy the lines go quick. Staff is nice and efficient. They know their stuff. No, this is not the nearest post office to where I live but whenever I have to go through the process of doing anything in a United States Postal Service building, whether buying stamps, getting packing materials, or shipping anything, I will happily go out of my way and drive here to avoid the other crappy locations closer to me. Happily and post office in the same sentence? Yeah, believe it or not, it could go together with this location. Here are some o the reasons: -The pens that they provide here by the tables actually works.. usually. -Finding a parking spot nearby to go to this post office usually isn't too hard. Dyker Heights is one of the richer neighborhoods so most people nearby park their cars in their 2 or more car garages, freeing a lot of street parking spots for others. -The lines here are usually pretty short, average wait time for me usually is 5 minutes or less. Maybe 10 minutes max during busier days. -The managers here constantly come out onto the floor to see if anyone have any questions or to ask if anyone already have a prepaid package ready to be shipped, in which case they would happily take it off your hand so that you don't need to wait on line any longer, thus making the line even shorter for the rest of the patrons. -Now get ready to gasp at this in disbelief. The staff here have always been attentive, quick, efficient, polite, and friendly. They always seem to be relaxed and happy instead of stressed. All these makes for a much more pleasant atmosphere for everyone. I have yet to see a frustrated and angry customer during my years coming to this location. It's kind of refreshing not to be on a postal line where people are grumbling about how slow everyone and everything is moving, and how indifferent the people that works there are. Hopefully, whatever happy juice they get to drink here would be shipped to the other USPS offices and the joy could spread. Lets hope they would express it when they do. read more

This is my favorite post office. I just moved into the neighborhood from Bath Beach and the service here is superb. The staff are courteous and knowledgeable. They are also bilingual which is a plus. When one of my packages were missing, Michael went out of his way to follow up on the case. read more

Terrible! They have a non working number listed as their phone number. The main office said my package is there, they claimed they never received it and told me to call the main number again because they're wrong. This went on multiple times and then I got the responses "it's lost and can't be found - call your sender". The contents of this package are not replaceable! The entire USPS sucks but this office can cause someone to have a stroke. read more

Because of their business hours not working for me, I send my 12 year old daughter and my mom to pick up my package. So they went on Monday with the note from them, to just learn, that is out for redelivery. I asked them to stay at home, nothing came!!!! So I send them again, and yes they did not have my ID, I only gave her credit card with my name on it...this clerk there, different from Monday, Asian woman, was asking for ID, my daughter was trying explaining the situation, she would not be helpful at all, my mom pull her ID, but is not from here, so she said: no overseas ID...my daughter got frustrated and did like deep sigh...and this **** called her NASTY, 12 year old, who did nothing wrong, if they would do their job properly, she would not need to come at all. Someone else step in and helped her. Not this Asian woman. Very wrong, but this Asian teach my daughter lesson, that's for sure, how not to treat kids in any age, she is horrible person. read more

They do not follow CDC protocols. Instead of five people at a time, there were 18 in the post office besides myself. There is no one there to monitor that CDC regulations were being followed. Finally got to the window, and Clark 31 belittled me and started screaming at me causing a scene in the post office. She needed to " educate me" on how to ship my mail packages. Keep in mind that I've been shipping with Poshmark for five years and have been using the same box for my shipments. Was there to days earlier with no problems using a flat rate envelope. After screaming at me for about five minutes, the Supervisor comes out without wearing a mask. She held a brown paper napkin over her mouth. After saying I had no idea what I was talking about, she agreed to ship my packages and stated she did not care that they got there or not. One package had Fragile written on the top of it and clerk 31 flung get into the blue box. Both employees should be terminated immediately. Post office should provide a better education and training for customer care and postage information to employees. read more

Someone should check up on DRIVER whoever delivers Registered Packages on Mondays & Tuesdays. I always track my packages and make sure I'm home on day it is Out for Delivery. Well, on numerous occasions, when it is to be delivered(always Mon & Tues) tracking states "Attempted to Deliver, Left Notice". Needless to say, NEVER LEFT NOTICE since didn't try to deliver. My wife's package was reported delivered on Thursday, January 8 but no package was in sight on my stoop. Asked neighbor and they had nothing. Called the USPS at Dyker Heights and spoke with Patricia. She asked for the tracking number and said she would call the driver and then call me back. No call back. So now Friday, January 9 I decided to call the Dyker Heights branch again and speak with Patricia. Maybe they found the package and I can pick it up. While on the phone with her my kids found the package outside under an upside down garbage can. Muck that was in the garbage can was all over the box and the package was outside all night long. I wanted to open the box while still on the phone with Patricia. She proceeded to comment that 'this went from a lost package to being found to still being on the phone'. If I'm wasting your time then just say it. The USPS delivered a package, hiding it under a garbage can that had something in it. Not telling the customer where it was. This isn't the first time having problems with your delivery service. All I have to say is buyer and user beware. read more
