The post office has become the new sh*t show, next to the dmv! WHY DO RUDE people work here?! If you don't like your job or don't like working in the service industry then QUIT or don't do it at all! There were two (black, relsax, gotta be specific in description) ..young men working behind the windows..being rude to customers and with no reason! The people online were old neighborhood people, these jerks behind the window talking to them like they were talking to their friends, calling them "bro" and getting upset with them when the guys behind the window were making mistakes because they were talking to each other while handling packages and not listening to the customers!! How about stop bullish*tting and DO YOUR JOB! I was there Friday afternoon, one worker in particular, named "Max", got angry at an OLD MAN (this man had to be in his 80s, wearing hearing aids too) "max" asked how much for a package to be sent, he said "$27", I heard it and so did the guy in front of me because when the older man saw "max" say to him "$37", the man corrected him by repeating "no I said $27" ...the jerk behind the window, "max" responded disrespectfully saying "bro..you told me $37!" then huffed and puffed like a child because he didn't want to fix it, well maybe YOU should wear hearing aids, max! I have now visited this particular post office twice in the 15+ years I've resided in this neighborhood. First visit: there was a particular African American women who was rude and loud with every single client once they reached her window (second window from the left). I had to return here again out of last minute emergency. There was a line and TWO different people let others skip ahead. I later realized it was bc this same particular woman was still employed! Only this time there was also a younger female with curly hair to laugh at the way the woman was treating the clients!! Literally, the people were trying to avoid having to be service by this particular woman! It is unbelievable the United States Postal Service allows such a person to continued to be employed by them! the mail carrier that delivers to my house have been misdelivering mail off and on. Items that belong on another street but with my house number are being put into my box. I've tried to repost in the mailbox up the street but the items are always redelivered into my box. It's like the carrier does not look at the address at all! I've also had my mail sent back to sender as undeliverable because they delivered one street over to a house that is under construction. Finally today, I've had it and called the post office to make a complaint. The phone is picked up by an auto voice, then it transfer the call to a number that rang busy. This happened three times. Obviously the post office does not want to receive any complaints!! The guys who delivers my packages are great! Very rude woman on the phone, who goes by "Elder." Spent 1 hour on hold while she was "looking for my package" just to be hung up on. Called back, told her I was hung up on while I was on hold. She tells me "it's very busy. you weren't hung up on you were forgotten about." OH that's even better, cause I enjoyed listening to their dumb hold elevator music for 1 hour!! She tells me she'll check for my package. Comes back 20 min later and tells me they don't have it and to call USPS. I told her I called USPS they told me it's at the Parkville location and to contact this location. She tells me "well we don't have it" and hangs up on me. AGAIN!! I'm enraged at this point but call USPS who confirm they have my package. I call this location back and lo and behold it's Elder again. She tells me in a rude and loud voice, "are you the same person?? I told you we don't have it!" I tell her, "I just called USPS and they said you guys have it please check again for me." She goes, "I will not do that I'm not running around looking for you package again." Moment of silence as my brain almost explodes. I tell her, "ma'am I'm asking you to please check for my package one more time before I file a missing package report." She said "I told you I'm not gonna do that." I said, "what's your name?" she said "Elder." I said thank you and hung up on her this time. Despite my usually polite demeanor, I almost lost my shit. Filed a missing package report and heard nothing back from USPS. I called this post office back 2 weeks later and a nice woman named Amanda found my damn package in like 5 minutes. Amanda is the only reason this place is getting a 1 star. I'd give 0 if I could for the customer service I've experienced. But wait... I still didn't receive the package despite Amanda's promising it will be delivered Tuesday/Friday (July 3 or July 5th). Still don't have my package. Called the post office yesterday who again put me on hold and forgot about me. Called back to have 3 people transfer me back and forth until they said "the supervisor will take care of it." An Asian man whom I could barely understand got on the line and said "Hi I'm very busy I will call you back, what's your #" I told him and he never got back to me. I'm so done. While I think all post offices equally suck, this one has a great new (or at least new to me) has a great feature. There is a big electronic machine that spits out stamps and paid labels for priority mail, express mail, flat rate mail. Just place your item on the scale, your total appears, enter your debit/credit and ta-da, you skip the long lines. No one seems to be using this great addition to this post office for some reason. Maybe it is fear of computers among the older folks that frequent this location. Esther and Gertrude prefer to ask a million and one questions to the people at the front desk and hold up the lines, then to try this new "fandangled" technology. I had a package delivered from Australia. The only way I found out was by the loud smashing noise against my metal front door. I ran to the door, saw the package on the floor: it had one corner dented in. The postal worker in the truck was laughing to the other one driving. I yelled " Did you throw this at my door?' he told me he didn't want to step over the snow. I called him a few choice words and reported him. While post offices are generally terrible, this is HANDS DOWN the worst I've ever been to. No matter what day of the week or time of day, there is always a DMV style line. Not because it's super crowded, but because the employees work at a snail pace and don't have any clue how to do their job. That being said, I would have given them 2 stars. Before today. Here's a fun story: I enjoy online shopping and, because I live in a large building with neighbors who are virtually strangers, I always ship my packages USPS instead of UPS or Fed Ex. I'd rather take a walk and wait on line at the post office than chance my package going missing from my doorstep. I received a slip stating that my package was waiting for me. Hooray! It made my day go a little faster knowing that $300 worth of gorgeous shirts were awaiting me. I get to the post office, wait on the beyond ridiculous line, and hand the teller my slip and driver's license. She disappears to the back and I wait patiently for 30 minutes. When she reemerges, there's not a package in her hand. "You have to leave your phone number," she says, "We can't find your package." Excuse me?!? How can you NOT find my package?? You gave me a slip YESTERDAY saying you had it! And on top of losing my merchandise, you cant even offer a half-assed apology?? I stare blankly at her for a second and ask, "What do you mean?" She goes on to explain that they organize packages by last name and address (um, no shit, Confucius) and says that mine isn't there. I ask for possible reasons as to why this happened. No response. I ask what happens if they don't find it. "Oh, if you have insurance, you'll be reimbursed." No, dumbass, I do not think I have insurance on an order from a clothing company. Perhaps I'd invest in insurance if the package was going to be left on MY DOORSTEP. I used the post office thinking it was SAFE. Silly me! All in all, terrible service. Long lines. Incompetent and unapologetic workers who have an IQ that would make a goldfish look like Einstein. Unfortunately for me, this is the post office for my zip code and I'm stuck with them. read more

I have a package they did not bother to deliver, i understand, but at least leave me a NOTICE would be nice. since its express mail, they would only hold it for 5 days. I could not take any time off work for the 5 days so i thought if i get them to "redeliver" meaning, give me a NOTICE and that would be giving me another 5 days and i could pick up Saturday. HOWEVER, they just ignore redelivery request 2 times. Which left me no choice but to call them, which took me ENTIRE DAY of calling. It's the US Post Office; it's never going to be a decent experience. I came to get a stamp for a greeting card and mail a large bubble envelope. Pretty easy. I used the self-service machine since there was no wait for that and I understand how to use automated check-out type machines. I was able to purchase the stamp for the greeting card easily enough, though I had to buy 3 because the minimum purchase is $1 and there didn't seem to be an option to let me add the the large envelope to this transaction. I should have started with the large envelope first, it seems. Good to know. Slightly annoyed that I had to make 2 separate transactions, but whatever, it's ok. One can always benefit from an extra stamp lying around, no? So onto the large envelope. I purchased my postage label without issue, and the screen said to deposit the package in the bin to the right of the machine. The bin said packages only, no letters/cards. Ok, fine, although there isn't another bin anywhere else inside to drop a basic letter. I grabbed the handle and the bin wouldn't open. I struggled with trying to open the bin. No luck. Some guy in the line said maybe it's full and that's why it won't open. Full at 9:30 in the morning? And of course no one at the counter is going to be able to help me; I'm not in line after all. I looked around and there was no other box or area to deposit my mail inside the post office. Ironic. Annoyed, I walked outside to the mailboxes in front of the place. My envelope was smooshable (not really a word, but you understand what I mean) but not smooshy enough to drop down into the box when I closed the lid. Instead it got stuck...so now I'm struggling to try extract my poor envelope from the throat of the mailbox and no matter what I do, I can't push the envelope down or pull it back out. Eventually I managed to pull out the envelope, by now totally crinkled up. I was able to drop my greeting card in the box, though. Yay. Now I had to go back inside and wait in line just to hand my package to someone. So much for self-service. It's like you're punished for not being totally inept. They always have something requiring you to be at their mercy. read more

I don't think all the bad reviews for this post office will change a thing. I will always wait more than 30 minutes to get served at a window, and I will wait at least 15 minutes to pick up a missed package. The highlight of my week/month is not having to come here at all. Entering this place is never fun. You'd be surprised as to how many times I've gone in there, just to see that the line is bending almost twice. The good thing about this location is that they do have the automated postal machine where you can weight the item you want to mail, and pay by credit card. That's genius. In the last 6 months, I've only had to wait 3 times and each time I was next in line. It's weird how there's huge lines to see a teller, when they have this machine that is self serve and a lot faster. I think people just fear machinery and computers. The slip was dated 11/10, 2 days ago and it's still not at the post office yet?!? What?!? Understaffed and they're constantly out of product to package items. This post office has failed to deliver packages to second floor apartment building AFTER I LET THEM IN saying they can't leave their cart but I am physically unable to go downstairs and get it. The supervisor told me to "leave a note" downstairs to have them come up.... 1. I CAN'T GO DOWNSTAIRS TO LEAVE A NOTE. 2. Why would it be alright for them to leave the cart for a NOTE TACKED ON A DOOR but not OK when the recipient LETS THEM IN THE BUILDING?? They've also delivered packages to addresses avenues away. The line here can get pretty long and busy on weekdays. I like to use the automated postal service center they have. I mean it's there for a reason and they keep advertising it for a reason! It's almost always empty when I come here anyway- it seems like no one knows how to use anything technical. Using a debit card is way faster than waiting on line and paying cash. I'd rather do everything myself. This place is a decent branch. The people who work here are efficient and reliable. They aren't super fast but they're friendly, Something I do enjoy. Personally, I hate having to come here. General post office hours guarantee that people who work regular M-F 9-5PM type shifts can only come on Saturday mornings, where the lines are guaranteed to loop all over, and they are rarely staffed adequately. I really don't know if even a sincerely dedicated administration can make this particular post office run any better. Its a function both of inadequate staffing and the customers who don't have a clue what they want when they get to the window so they tie up the window for 15 - 20 minutes (or more) trying to figure it out. I've heard major complaints about employee attitudes, but to be honest, the rudest people are usually the customers: line cutting and jumping up the window to "ask a question" are pretty routine. As for the layout, there is never a clear division between where the passport line and regular line is (each time I go, it varies), which creates confusion with people lining up in the wrong place or bunching up and creating bottlenecks. The package pick-up line isn't all that obvious either, if its your first time going. Considering how many customers don't speak English as a first language, having signs in languages common to the neighborhood would help decrease the confusion. The Automated Postal Center (APC) is a great time-saver if your package can be sent that way (unfortunately, with the many limits on shipping methods, size, destinations, it still forces a lot of people back on the line). I try to catch their APC during lobby hours (after the windows have closed) after work if I can. I've been serviced by most of the window postal staff, and really aside from one (who is spectacularly slow), I have to say most are reasonably efficient and courteous. Considering the rudeness and surliness (from normal folk forced to deal with the nonsense going on, plus the waits) they routinely see, I hardly expect them to be cheery. read more

This post office seem to the packed with people waiting on line not being patience everyday. I came to mail my grandfather on my dad side of the family some fish oil. Came in the morning around 10ish and there was only 2 people ahead of me, i was shocked. waited on line for 10-15 minutes and i got all my stuff done around 10:30am. The staffs seem grumpy almost everyday and some of them are even rude but if you get the right person behind the counter and all your labels and what not correctly you be done in seconds. This post office constantly refuses to deliver packages to our home. They don't ring the buzzer or attempt to bring the packages upstairs. They leave the packages in a breeze way accessible to any and everyone and clearly an unsecured area. I am disabled and always home, yet the refuse to ring the bell. If you send a package from this post office expect, at least, huge delays, or even lost package (though rarely). Very frustrating. Today at 12:50 pm USPS recorded my friend's package was delivery to my house. I have a video camera pointing at the door, showing the mailman did come, but did NOT leave any package. I took off of work just so I can receive my package, no one buzzed the bell no one left a slip, I received a email saying the receptor was blocked, we attempted to deliver BULLSHIT!!!! So I went there my self, to find out that the manager is not there so I spoke to this stupid supervisor who had shut the window after I had asked for her name, she said that the package "might" be in the truck? Ok so if u can't deliver it but u have it with ur premises than why not have it somewhere reachable in case the costumer comes to pick it up? So basically the restrained my package. It in the truck so u can't get it but non of the trucks left the parking lot nor did someone even try to get the package as if it was impossible, the supervisor had a nasty attitude( why does it gotta be always the fat ppl that has to be nasty?) so the first day I called ask usps and waited 52 min for someone to pick up so I can file the complaint, after we rescheduled so it could be redelivered for the next day, I told my wife this time to take of so they can drop it with her, I come home at 9 and guess what they didn't deliver it! I checked the tracking and it says ready for pick up? The so called supervisor is not meeting the requirements and she definitely does not qualify to be paid as a supervisor as she can not fallow simple on screen instructions such as TO BE DELIVERED ON 10/02/2017!
