The rudest staff I've ever met. The blonde woman was very rude and got upset that I had a hard time understanding her.

I had a very disappointing experience at this post office. The clerk, Ms. Tan (or the woman working the counter at the time), was not helpful and came across as unpleasant. I was trying to do someone a favor and use their card to mail something -- something I've never had an issue with at any other post office -- but she refused and became argumentative. Line is always out the door, the window for packages is stuffed to the max, you have to move other peoples packages to fit yours in. They deliver things back to their original addresses which delays life as if they are sniffing glue back there and having powdered donuts (and I don't mean sugar). It's convenient for Bath Beach but it has sucked for at least 15 years. read more

This post office's staff doesn't want to help anybody. I had an interaction with the female Chinese staff in which she was doing my passport. She doesn't want to do her job and send us home. She is extremely lazy. I try to do my kid passport and used my expired passport as my identification. She lied to us and said it will be a problem. Then she send us away. I checked the website and it said we could use our expired passport as ID. When I walked out the door, I had someone came up to me and said this lady is really bad. SMH. read more

Even though, the tracking number stated the package was delivered to that particular post office. This is not the first time, they lost my mail. Two years ago, I sent 2 boxes of items. There's almost always a line out the door, but if you need to just drop off a package, you can go right in, turn towards the left and place it at the first window to the right of you. I am quite amazed when I see the sea of negative reviews/comments regarding this Post Office, but I want to share my amazing experience with the Bath Beach team and in particular the MVP Ruth who went above and beyond with my situation and deserves a promotion there (all the recognition at the very least). Everyone may have different experiences, but hopefully I can at least show that there are good people there. So to preface my story, I had a very expensive laptop being shipped priority mail express to a buyer in North Carolina. I was greeted by Ruth who took my package on the side of the queue (as it was a drop-off) and even went to the front of the line to have a question asked for me (bypassing another customer for a brief moment). Packaged dropped off, scanned, and everything was GUCCI... until a few hours later driving home, I check my emails and come across several emails from the merchant stating that there was an issue and that the purchase was not authorized by the buyer. A surge of emotion hit me, including disbelief, panic, and a good dose of "are you f---ing kidding me". The merchant advises me to go back to the Post Office and track that package down. With no hesitation, I drove back to the office and waved Ruth down and she immediately took me to the back with no questions asked. I told her my situation and she takes it with urgency; she checks to see if the package was still there... She looks at me with a concerned look on her face and I knew it was gone before she had said anything. But without even a pause, she walks over to another member of the team who had worked at the headquarters previously. Ruth had been so amazing and asked all the right people. Before I can even show any distraught or concern, she knew exactly what to do and that time was of the essence. We NEEDED to track that van down. Within a few moments and me writing my information down, I get the good news. The package was intercepted. The driver had found my package and it was just moments away from being sent to the sorting facility which most likely have meant that I was not going to see it. I have never felt so relieved to hear some random guy's name. So now, here at home as I'm typing this on a rainy New York day, I can relax a little bit easier all thanks to Ruth and her team. She has gone above and beyond all of my expectations to help me with my situation. I can't thank her enough. She's always had this amazing energy to her on a normal day and if any of you guys have any problems, she's the one to help you. I'm don't think this review can really express my gratitude enough but I know she had to pull some strings to save me from a $3000+ headache. For everything she's done. I am grateful. Her and her staff work hard and may get a lot of slack for other things, but they are great people. read more

I have, of necessity, gone back to this post office a few times since the beginning of this year and have to say that conditions have improved remarkably. There seems to be a whole different staff and they are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient (not to mention English-speaking). Maybe the USPS took notice of all the reviews here and the complaints called in and acted upon them, but the last two times I've had to go here to mail packages, I was in and out in less than twenty minutes - a far cry from the average 45 minute visit that was usual there. read more

Striving for lowest level of service is right. Consistently rude customer service, lost packages, undelivered mail, other people's mail delivered to you. They marked a time sensitive item as delivered when it was not, the item arrived weeks later. When I came in to talk to someone I was told they don't know where my package is. If at all possible completely avoid this post office. Waited 20 minutes to pick up a package, return receipt. Hit the doorbell for the back office nobody answers. Ask the teller if somebody is there to help us you get an attitude. Unfortunately it's close to my home I go there for 5 times a year which is 4 or five times too many. The US Postal service in general is a joke, but this particular branch must strive to take service to an ultimate low. I generally recommend never shipping through USPS, but if this is your designated Post Office, consider this solid advice: never, ever do it. The problems with this post office are not new. They have been a consistent factor since I moved to the neighborhood over 2 years ago. So, here goes: 1. Employees are nasty. Not just rude, but downright nasty. It prompts me to almost wonder if having a horrible attitude is a prerequisite to working there. 2. They lose packages. This is not a random, rare occurrence. It will happen to you at some point. Luckily, Target and Amazon are good about refunding, but this doesn't help if time is of the essence (for example, awaiting a textbook for a class). Unfortunately, some gifts from my mom never made it into my hands. Please note: your packages are not necessarily safe if you require a signature. I've shown up at the post office with slips to pick things up, and had them unable to find my package. 3. They don't always inform you about attempted deliveries, and when they do, it is not always in a punctual fashion. I once had a package sit inside the post office for 3 days, unbeknownst to me, because I was not informed that they had supposedly tried to deliver it. The item - yet another textbook I needed ASAP - got sent back to the seller. 4. The carriers are generally incompetent. After receiving mail that belonged in different boxes on a routine basis (including someone's prescription medication, a monthly subscription to People En Espanol, and some guy named Boris's rewards coupons for a nightclub in Brighton Beach), I have to wonder how many wrong mailboxes my mail has ended up in. How often my privacy has been jeopardized, how many time-sensitive documents did not make it to my possession. read more

The workers here are actually very nice. I am a bit disturbed that they are not given AC in the summer which ISN'T their fault. I researched the reason why they yes, do sometimes lose packages. It's because they are grossly understaffed. Many residents share housing here, a problem recurring in all of NYC--pretty much due to increasing rents that are not within the average person's budget. I do believe they are doing the best they can. The post office is getting more mail and has been cutting jobs in recent years. I wrote a bad review on here before, but did some more research into the matter. I hope in the future they are given more humane working conditions, which I do believe can help decrease the error rate (I actually do get my mail reliably delivered but was ordering lots of online merchandise some time last year). I wish there is an option to select zero stars because that is what I would give to this post office. This post office has the worst service and the employees all have a nasty attitude. It is such a sad representation of a federal agency. I blame the management of this branch for not giving a crap about customer experience and really seeing how terrible their employees are. Here are a few of my experiences with this location... -Whenever you go to pick up a package, there is a 50/50 chance they might have lost your package. There is always a line and the wait is absurd. The agent at the pick up window always has a bad attitude. I happened to have been there this past week where I noticed the pick up window line was almost out the door. It is because the agent is slow and drags her feet to locate the packages. Then she has the nerve to shake her head in disgust at how many people are on line. -I arrived on a weekday at 4:15pm to send out a package. The office doesn't close until 5pm, yet, none of the agents are helping any of the customers. There were about 5 people on line waiting, none of them being called to the windows. The agents behind the windows were talking and laughing among themselves, ignoring the customers. It wasn't until a frustrated customer went straight up to one of the windows and blatantly asked why none of the customers were being helped, before one the agents decided to get back to work. -The agents attitudes are just bad. No one ever smiles and looks like they are doing you a favor. -I was there this weekend to mail out a package. There must have been 10+ people waiting on line. 3 agents were working behind the windows. When it became my turn and I was called to one of the windows, the agent was reading a book that someone must have just given her and I was left there for at least 3 minutes waiting for her to finish reading before she would even look up to acknowledge me. -I live within the 11214 area code. Once my family and I were going on vacation for one week. We put in a request to hold our mail until we returned and specifically notated that we will go to the office to pick up our mail afterwards. Upon our return, not only was our mail not put on hold but we found a whole week's mail jammed into our small mailbox. -We always get notices at our home that our package could not be delivered because we were not home. How about the fact that we always have someone home but no one rings the bell to let us know we have a package? No wonder the USPS is going out of business. They hire incompetent people to do the job. No one gives a damn about their work or the customers. I would rather pay more to use UPS and FedEx just for the better customer service. read more

If you're getting a package delivered use another service. They attempted a home delivery once and never came again. This has happened often with my experience. Tracking the package online, it said that the package was ready for pickup at this post office. First, make sure that you CALL even if it says that it is ready for pick up. Call early or you will get a busy signal all day. When you call you will be transferred to the person in the packaging department. This particular person was rude and impatient when I didn't understand why my package was still in transit when it said it was ready for pickup. Once you double check that the package is clearly there then you can go pick it up. Some options to avoid this problem. 1) If you have a neighbor that is home most of the day you can leave a post it note with tape on the doorbell outside asking the postal worker to ring your neighbor. 2) Ship it to an address in a different district to avoid this post office that has better service. 3) Pay a bit more and use another carrier service as they will offer better customer service. read more

I really dread going to this post office for any reason. Every time I go here, the lines are either "spend your whole lunch break here" long or "you might as well put out a sleeping bag" long. It's strange because it seems like no matter what time of the day I come here, any day of the week it's open, there is a long line. You would think that they were handing out free money or something out of those service windows instead of taking mail, sending stamps, and such. Long lines wouldn't be too much of a problem if the lines moves at a decent pace but alas, this is not the case at this location. Everything takes forever and moves at a snail's pace. Wait.... I'm sorry, I might actually be insulting the snail. I swear by the time I get from the back of the line to any of the service windows, I would have gone from clean shaven to looking like a fugitive without a razor blade for a week, or at least I would if I wasn't Asian and could grow proper facial hair. Even getting serviced is not a pleasant experience most of the time. The people working there routinely talk to each other, talking about personal business, and gives mostly the most basic of customer service when they deem that they are free to provide it. So why am I giving this place two stars instead of one? They have yet to lose a package of mine, both on the receiving end or the shipping end. Gotta look at the positive, right? read more

If this is your post office, you will more than likely never get your mail! Packages are left outside, on online sales you get your tracking number, it states delivered yet was never delivered. If you try to call, they either don't answer the phone, pick it up then hang up,or a constant busy signal! The WORST!!!! Instead of leaving a slip that international package had arrived! The driver just delivered it to the building and left it downstairs!!! WTF!!! That package of course was stolen! But these people can care less that whatever was in that box, was actually a gift from a person!!!! Why! I try to stay away from this post office and mail my package and stuff in the city. Prior I was rudely helped with an older spanish lady with blonde hair and I had to ask a simple question of the package i was about to ship before trying to hand it to her and she just answered me very rudely and in a sense where she kind of talked down as if I should've known. Before helping me I noticed her attitude with another customer and she was getting frustrated so i already assumed she was going to give me the same energy but I approached really softly and nice and still got the negative attitude. NIGHTMARE! The post office on Bath ave is my worst experience. So many years they can not improve their service. I can't get package to my home address, their mailman didn't even ring in the intercom, but he left a notice that delivery was attempted. I'm waiting at home but nothing happens. After that I call to the post office, they promise me to redeliver my package tomorrow .... but tomorrow never happen. For a whole week!!! I'm waiting at home-calling them-they promise-and they don't bring the package. I see that so many bad reviews here about this place, but I feel that nobody reads and nobody fights with a mess in this place. How these people get salary I don't know. I only give this place 3 stars because i have both pros and cons about this place. PROS: Overall whenever i come at the time they open, there is a very short line. And as long as I have my pre-paid labels, im out of there in seconds. Its a rather big place to give room to everyone being there. The guys at the pick up window are often very sweet and nice and even if my package isn't back there just yet they calmly and nicely explain the situation. Many of them are sympathetic too and help to open the doors whenever i receive a heavy box. CONS: The people at the windows are usually pretty nice, but are often clueless about some things. Some of them don't know how a pre-paid label works. There's this one chinese guy (must avoid) that is very rude. He makes me pay for every little ounce (even if barely an ounce) and once tried to scam me into paying extra for my priority mail flat rate box (already pre-paid). read more

Either they deliver it to the wrong address or don't even bother to deliver it. Then when you go in person to get package they use some lame excuse that it's on another truck for delivery.
