I received a call at 12:33PM from DRS referencing my name. I stated yes, that was me and asked who she was. She then stated that she needed to talk to me regarding some important business information, and asked if I was there. I said yes, I already confirmed who it was, and asked, again, who she was. The agent on the phone railroaded my question, and went straight to asking me to confirm the last four digits of my social security. Uh, how about no. I don't know about you, but, I definitely do not give out any part of my social to someone that randomly dialed my personal phone, period. AT ALL. NEVER. I refuse to provide her with my social, and ask again, who she is, and explain that she hasn't introduced herself, and that I have no idea who she is, and she has the gall to ask me for my social? She then reads off what she thinks are the last four of my social, and asks me to confirm yes or no. I tell her that I'm neither going to confirm nor deny if the numbers she gave me were correct or not, and that she needs to tell me who she is and where she is calling from. Finally, she gets angry and haughty with me, and says Dynamic Recovery Solutions and that this is an attempt to collect a debt. Which makes me laugh, as I do not have any debts in collections, and last time I checked, that is the FIRST thing they are supposed to say. At this point, I demanded in writing a copy of the supposed debt they are trying to collect on as proof, and she said "fine" and hung up on me. I have no idea if they are actually mailing it or not, but, this woman and this company are completely unprofessional. They do not need to verify a social in order to confirm who they are speaking with, and I will never, ever discuss my social over the phone with anyone who has called me. What are you, dumb? Anyway, I suppose now I wait for proof of this supposed debt that I do not have. I know I don't have debt as I paid off all of my debt in order to qualify for the home I purchased a year ago and have not missed a single payment on, as we had to lower DTI to qualify. Just like many others on this site, they asked me to pay a debt that they say was in my name for an account with a company I've never heard of. They also said I lived at a city that I've NEVER been in (except as an airport layover). I told the idiot on the phone that I was a previous victim of identity fraud and would be happy to send the official documentation from my bank, CC companies, credit bureau etc. to prove my case and this nitwit said, "Sir, I'm sure no legitimate company would bill you for something you didn't actually owe." Are you kidding me?? Really?? That is the essence of identity fraud, dumba$$. You get billed for LOTS of things you don't truly owe, by LOTS of illegitimate companies.....my God, what complete idiot! The bill they wanted me to pay was for a cell phone company, dated 7 years ago, in a city where I never lived. They even gave me the address where I supposedly lived. Maybe I was being a dick, but I turned things into a little game. I told them I would be happy to pay money,IF they could PROVE I lived in that city. Because, I can prove that I didn't and would send them 1040's etc. Crickets........... For the record, I have been with AT&T with my same cell number for over 20 years (which is the number they called on). They said numerous attempts were made to contact me by correspondence (at the "so called" address) and I never responded.....DUH! I never lived there, so how could you send me correspondence and I respond? When I asked for the phone number to the executive offices and who was the CEO or President of the company, I was told I can only write a letter. I asked for the name of the CEO or President of the company. She said she didn't know so I asked her supervisor and guess what? She didn't know either....right....so I called the customer service line from my work cell phone and asked for the info, I got hung up on. I'll ask any of you.... I contacted my lawyer about these people and was informed to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I did. I noticed also there was other complaints about dynamic recovery solutions and many of those complaints were resolved, they stop calling them and stopped sending letters. On the bottom of the letter it states and I quote " unless you notify this office within 30 days after receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of the debt this office will assume the debt is valid" I would not call dynamic recovery solutions but I would dispute it, by legal means and that is through the Better Business Bureau. I received a phone call from dynamic recovery solutions and inform them that I do not have a debt pass due from any credit cards. Then I get a letter in the mail that is when I contacted my lawyer and was advised to file a dispute claim with the better business bureau. First off don't EVER give them personal info over the phone!! Second, this company is a bottom feeder debt collections company. It's not a scam but what they do is buy debt that's uncollectable unless YOU agree to pay them. They buy old bundled debt that's usually out of the legal collections window that legal action or credit bureau notification can be taken against you. Each state has a statue of limitation on credit card debt collection look it up. If you have old credit card debt that's for example over 5 years old and you live in Pennsylvania that debit is DEAD! The statue ran out for legal action to be taken against you. So what happens? That dead debit is bought in bundles by company's like DRS who pay pennies on the dollar for the debt. They might buy a bundle of debit when good had a total value of 1 million dollars but paid $2,200 for it. That bundle might have 20,000 accounts in it. What they do is play the odds that some suckers will actually agree to pay! DRS can and probably makes a boat load of money this way. 1 Million in debt, pay $2,200, recover $150,000. They're not a scam but a scum bag company that prey off people's lack of understanding of old debt. If they send you a letter, on that letter there should be something that says the debit is to old and you will not be sued or be reported to the credit bureau's. At that point rip it up and toss it! Actually there is no option for minus stars. I keep getting calls from these bogus morons from a variety of numbers. If I answer, they hang up. If I let it go to the machine, they hang up. So WHY call? I called back the number on the caller ID and it was them. They asked for a person who does not, nor has ever lived here. Then they asked for my husband by his name but we owe no one anything that isn't on a normal basis. When I asked why he was connecting my husband's name to this other person, who he doesn't even know and who lives in another state, they said it was a "secret". Never once have they asked for ME, and I am the person whose name is on the PHONE number account and have been for 20 years. They are just another rip off company, probably based in Mexico, India or Pakistan, preying on people. I said not nice things. I'm sure they will call again, maybe pretending to be the U.S. Treasury again, only the people are obviously Indian or the fake IRS, who are also obviously Indian. I asked them when the U.S Treasury moved their offices to India and they hung up. Also, there is one scam from the Nigerian lottery, where apparently I have won 45 million dollars!! Magically, miraculously, SUPERHUMANLY, these people find a debt from many years ago that nobody has informed you about-- That the credit bureaus and credit report sites don't even know about, I might add-- and they phish for your info by asking you to give them your Social Security Number over the phone or online. They also ask you to answer random questions in the middle of phonecalls like "Were you married at the time of this debt?" "Did you have a dog at this time? What was its name?" Obvious enough for ya? Any money you give them goes straight into their coffers, which buys the paper and resources they need to stay in "Business". Any other debt agency or lawyer will tell you to avoid these people, as they are notorious for making up false debts that get you nowhere on other, legitimate debts you may owe. 700+ complaints, most of which say they're a scam, and they ask people who pay them to give them good reviews on yelp. Beware. This company is a total scam. Someone needs to get an attorney general after them. Called my husband today attempting to collect on a non-existent debt for a MasterCard issued by some bogus "Providian Bank" that we hand never heard of. Furthermore, the debt was supposedly at least 10 years old. On top of that, my husband can't even get a credit card, actually it's a pretty good defense again would-be ID thieves. There's no way he ever had this card or anyone was able to get any credit fraudulently through his name. Funny, they have a dispute page on their website saying "Occassionally, (their misspelling) debt is improperly assigned." Because that's all they do! Please, don't fall for this B-S. I am almost positive this company is running some type of scam. I work for my families company out of California and we started getting calls from a woman named Ms. Cox stating that someone(she won't say who) owes them money for a debt we owe. She has been calling my family on their personal cell phones and always claims someone owes money for something but she never says who or is even willing to send us the information in writing. She uses names that I've never heard of and is very aggressive and attempts to use scare tactics to bully us out of money that we don't owe. My aunt called them this morning to speak with a supervisor to inform them that someone is using their company name to run a scam and the response from them was "we're not concerned about that!" This company called and left a voice message for his call to be returned to this number 877-821-1658. The call was placed from 832-871-3670. When I called the number a woman named Teresa Merritt picked up and asked for my mother. My mother has NEVER used my phone number or address. She has NEVER lived with me. She has had the same address since 1988. She's had the same phone number since 1990. We live 3 hours apart. Teresa gave me a number, 855-666-9256 for my mom to call her back. I told Teresa I would pass along the number but she has to tell me who the creditor is because she (my mother) is very diligent about paying her bills.
